Hair cut, hair color, keratin smoothing treatments, manicures, pedicures, makeup, facials, massages, waxing, extensions, eyelash extensions AND we carry the entire line of AVEDA Hair Care, Makeup, Skin care, Aroma Therapy and Air Care!

We retail AND use AVEDA products exclusively in our salon. We are proud to be part of the AVEDA Concept Salon worldwide network. Our mission and goal is to EXCEED our Guest’s expectations with every visit. From the moment they walk in to the moment they leave we want them to feel relaxed, special and nurtured. Whether they bring a friend in for a tour of the salon or they have a whole day booked full of hair color, pedicures, facials and massages, it is our intention to greet EVERY Guest with a friendly smile and a cup of AVEDA’s very own soothing Comforting Tea.

About Us

amarté SALON * SPA is a collaboration… the product of entrepreneurial vision and real worldly experience… enter Dr. Craig Kraffert and Ron White. Family friends and colleagues for almost two decades… Dr. Kraffert having one of the most successful dermatology practices on the West Coast, and Ron has over 25 years experience in the Professional Beauty Industry. Their consensus opinion was that residents of Redding, CA should be able to experience a World Class Salon and Spa without having to travel to San Francisco or Beverly Hills.

This vision has become a reality, and in a very short period of time since they’ve opened, amarte SALON * SPA has quickly become Redding’s favorite Salon/​Spa for all things hair, skin, massage and nails.

Ron and Marjan White & Dr. Craig Kraffert and his wife MiSook are the salon’s owners. Marjan is the Team Leader and the very talented Olivia Whaley is our Assistant Team Leader. It is their jobs to make each Guest feel welcome and completely comfortable during their visit to our salon/​spa. Marjan worked in her family’s Beverly Hills salon for years before moving to Redding 17 years ago. Marjan’s husband, Ron used to work for the AVEDA Corporation and one of his dreams has been to one day open an AVEDA Concept Salon in Redding, CA. This dream has now become a reality! AVEDA is without question, the most sought after prestige Professional hair care and skin care brand in the world. In fact, AVEDA was just named 2013’s Most Popular Prestige Brand by one of the Industry’s leading Professional Beauty organizations, Behind the Chair. I had a bad haircut experience that took 3 very long months to grow out. I was nervous to get it cut again, but I went to Jana at Amarte and she took the time to listen to what I wanted and then cut it to perfection. I have very fine, curly hair which isn’t easy to work with, but I left the salon looking great and was able to wash it and blow it out this morning and I am thrilled. She not only corrected the haircut I had, but improved it. It’s perfect. Thank you.

This place is great! Very flexible with scheduling. I got my make up done here and I needed it done for a wedding that was at 6pm. I was a bridesmaid and needed to be ready by 10am. My make up made it threw the entire night and with very little creasing or running of any kind. The pricing is very reasonable and they use the Aveda make up already there. I brought in my own lashes and she applied them for me as well. It was done in about 35 – 40 min so I wasn’t sitting for long.

Thank you Unilocal reviewers. I decided to call Amarte after seeing their Unilocal reviews and not receiving a return call from the salon I originally contacted. Amarte is a chic salon that smells amazing and has everything you need from hair/​makeup services & amazing Aveda products to mani/​pedi & massage services.
I went in for an updo and was really pleased with the results. Megan was really personable and did a great job.

My first time getting a haircut at Amarte last night. I did not request a specific stylist but I feel like I really lucked out getting Jana. I had a dry scalp/​hair treatment done and my hair feels like silk! I gave 4 stars until I do my hair myself, since I have naturally wavy/​curly hair and it was blown out but it looks beautiful! I was also very impressed with the help and advice I received about products. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and I would recommend this salon to my friends.

Time to rave about Leia! I have had countless manicures and pedicures over the years and no one has ever given me a more meticulous mani/​pedi than your girl Leia. Her attention to detail is second to none and the conversation flowed very nicely throughout my almost 2 hour spa appointment. It was still super relaxing, I enjoyed the Aveda teas as always, and my nails look incredible. Thanks Leia!

I always have trouble looking for a salon, and have been dreading it ever since I moved to Redding. I found Amarte through Unilocal and decided to bite the bullet and make an appointment. They were incredibly accommodating with their appointment times and were able to fit me in the very next day.
I was paired with Megan and I felt super comfortable working with her. We did a quick run-​through of what I wanted for my hair, and I showed her some pictures. I was confident that she knew what I wanted.
Megan started off with a neck massage w/​essential oils, and then took me over for a shampoo. She cut my hair perfectly, stopping once or twice to ask me if I was sure about something. She also took the time to style my hair. Perfection!
The whole thing took about an hour. It was quick, but I didn’t feel rushed at all. I would highly recommend this salon! Will definitely be back!

Fabulous place! Relaxing atmosphere and I walk out every time with an awesome hair style by the stylists. I was offered a delicious cup of tea upon arrival and/​or water. The essential oil neck massage at the beginning was a wonderful touch– perfect way to relieve the stresses of the day. I will continue to go here for their excellent service, skilled stylists and their atmosphere. Highly recommend making it your regular salon!

I got a last minute apportionment for a hair cut and highlights and I was pretty skeptical about the quality because Redding has a a big hit or miss factor. However, Megan did a fantastic job and listened to exactly what I wanted. I got a cup of sugary black tea and read a two month old People magazine as my raggedy hair was transformed into shiny golden locks.

Let me first start by saying that I’ve only gone to one person since my hair was fried four and a half years ago. I pretty much trust no one with my hair anymore– no one. I really needed my hair done yesterday (and my stylist is three and a half hours away), so I took a chance and booked an appointment with Amarte. I’m so glad I did! It started with me bringing a quick photo in of what I thought I wanted. If Michelle only went off that photo, she wouldn’t have got my vision. Instead, she listened to everything I said and knew that I really wanted something close to that, but a little blonder, a little more of my natural and something easy to maintain. She nailed it! I couldn’t have been happier with the results! She also made sure I knew the entire cost before starting and gave me a scalp and arm massage while waiting for my hair to finish. This was on top of giving me a recent magazine to read while I was waiting and a full cup of tea. She’s also really bubbly and has a lot of fun at work, so it was easy to spend two hours with her.

Looooooooved my experience at Amartè salon & spa with Megan. She did an amazing job with my cut and color!!! I get so many compliments on how great of a job she did. Megan is artistic and extremely talented with color! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun, new look. :) All of the staff at Amartè salon are very warm, nice, helpful and welcoming. Jaimie helped me at check out and followed up on my experience at Amartè. This is my new favorite salon. :)

I just called to schedule and appointment as a gift for my mom and had exceptional service from, Jaime. She was pleasant and beyond helpful. She took my mom’s number and called her to book the appointment; rather than me having to tell my mom to do so. She provided clear information regarding the stylists at Amarte and just made the initiation of this process very easy.
I had called four other salons in Redding, that’s right– FOUR, trying to put this gift together and the service I had here blows the competition out of the water. Really, there is no competition with the other salons based on this experience. Thank you, Jaime. You rock!

UPDATE: Amarte management and owners have reached out, and bent over backwards to correct this issue. They really have gone way above and beyond, apologized and tried diligently to make it right. I believe the issue below was a one off event and I will return for additional services, this salon and spa is one of the very nicest in town and I am blown away by how serious they take their client’s happiness! Thank you Amarte.
I’ve been to Amarte many times and until now have always been satisfied with the service and only once didn’t like the cut. HOWEVER, yesterday I went for a hair cut appointment and after 45 minutes and just finishing the cut the stylist told me she wouldn’t be able to dry or style my hair because her next client was waiting. My «just stepped out of a salon» moment was with dripping wet hair. Amarte management, please adjust the time allotted for haircuts so that your stylists can offer the full service. 45min for a women’s wash, cut, and style is not enough. I was charged full price for the cut, and then prompted at checkout to leave a tip as if I wasn’t standing there dripping water on my shirt.

Tara was my massage therapist who preformed a very relaxing deep tissue massage. I love the looks of this spa/​salon! It looked very clean and inviting; I was greeted as soon as I walked into the place.
Prior to my massage I had a short consult with Tara to explain any specific areas that needed more attention. She used aromatherapy, hot stones and heated towels which added to my experience. Tara has strong hands and she seemed very well educated with the anatomy of my muscles. There were times when she was working out my knots that was pretty painful, but the aftermath is worth the pain! I felt so deeply relaxed after that I didn’t know if I was awake enough to drive home!
They offered me some delicious tea during my check-​out and the front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Also, the $ 50 for $ 75 coupon is a great deal. All in all I would say visiting Tara at Amarte is definatly worth your money!

Olivia did a wonderful job with my hair, I’ve gotten so many compliments. I have gone to my previous hairstylist for six years, so I was nervous to try some one new. She have new natural look blonde highlights and lowlights with the cooler tones that I like. My cut is chin length with bangs and rounds out my longer shaped face.

All I have to say is wow! Firstly, I was
running late and they still chose to see me, which they did not have to do. Megan asked me for a picture of what I wanted done. I always feel like I’m such a bother when I show hair dressers a picture, but it was actually encouraged! She made a product especially for my hair, gave me a hand massage during the washing process, and was super friendly. Everything turned out the way I wanted it! Not to mention all their products are organic! Megan was definitely amazing!

Moving to Redding from Southern California, we were a bit frightful on who and where we would have to go to get our hair cut. My better half and I spent years going to an Aveda salon down south, and really didn’t think they would exist up here… to our surprise, we found Amarte.
Amarte Salon is definitely a diamond in the rough when looking at the different salons available in Redding. Both my fiancé and I go to Janae and have NEVER had a bad experience. She’s absolutely fantastic, an absolute joy to be around, and knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s able to look at my face and pick out the perfect cut, and she’s totally down to earth making the entire experience comfortable and fun. My fiancé is extremely particular about his hair and if he had to, would go through hundreds of stylists to find the right one. Luckily, he found Janae and has never looked back.
Janae’s cuts are fantastic — it first starts with a neck and shoulder massage, after being immersed in stress-​relieving oils and scents. Then, you get the full shampoo and conditioner treatment which, if you’ve ever used Aveda products, are BOMB. Then the cut and style begins. I’m no pretty in pink type of lady, so Janae always teaches me the different things I can do with my do which is greatly appreciated.
ALSO, the experience doesn’t end there. Amarte also offers a FANTASTIC nail salon. Run exclusively by Leia, the manicures and pedicures are to die for. She has a passion for what she does and her work is absolutely flawless. There are different types of treatments you can choose from and their stress-​relieving manicure and pedicure is definitely my favorite. The salts and oils they use make your skin melt and the end product is great. My nails last for weeks and the color never chips. It really is the best manicure and pedicure I’ve ever had.
So to end on a note, this place is the best. Give it a try and love it too. The only complaint — the music. They play a random collection of music which just does not fit the bill. But fortunately, the experience is too good to be tampered with!
