Specialties
Kinderland offers day care services to children from birth through age 12. We provide before and after school child care to children attending Mistletoe School who use their busing services. All Kinderland Kids participate in quality educational programs. Teachers interact with infants by helping roll over, sit up, walk, etc. Lots of talking develops those important connections in the brain. PreSchool and PreKindergarten children learn the letters of the alphabet through the use of ZooPhonics, a program used by many local Kindergarten classes. In addition, children learn their numbers, shapes, and colors through interesting theme work. Lots of reading daily helps children develop a love of books and reading. We also participate in the Raising a Reader program which gives parents access to a wide variety of books on their child’s level. We participate in CACFP, the Child and Adult Food Care Program. All of the foods we serve meet all Federal nutritional guidelines.
History
Established in 2004.
Susan worked in the elementary educational field for nearly 20 years as an educator and principal. While expecting her youngest son, now 9, she decided on a career change and purchased a child care facility. This allowed her to be a part of both son’s (ages 9 and 13) lives on a daily basis. Even though the children are in school, Susan has embraced the philosophy that early childhood education is crucial for success in the primary grades.

Business Owner
Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at the University of Nevada Reno in 1983 and a Master degree in Educational Administration degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in 1990. She is very involved in the Early Childhood Educational community. She has been a member of CCAEYC (California Cascade Association for the Education of Young Children) for many years, always serving on the board. She is currently serving as President. She has also served on the board of the Music Booster Club at Mountain View Middle School and serves as a committee member for Cub Scouts Pack 41.
