History
Established in 1956.
The station was founded in 1956 as KVIP-TV by William B. Smullin of California Oregon Broadcasting, Inc. (COBI), owners of KOBI in Medford, Oregon and KOTI Klamath Falls, Oregon as a primary NBC affiliate with a secondary ABC affiliation. The full ABC schedule was available by way of translators of Stockton’s KOVR in Chico and Redding. Channel 7 became KRCR in 1963.

Jennifer S.

For fifteen years, Jennifer Scarborough has made her home in the Northstate. «This is such a beautiful area, with wonderful, giving people,» she says.
Jennifer grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico (where she went to high school with Chief Meteorologist Mike Krueger) and graduated college at the University of San Diego.
She came to KRCR in 1995 as the Tehama County reporter after a short stint in Carlsbad as an anchor and reporter for KDCI News.
Since 2005 she has been the news director, and anchor of News Channel 7 at 5 and 5:30.
