Deli is excellent! My office regularly orders sandwiches, paninis, cookies and other goodies. Best seafood salad in town, too!!!

Ever since Alex left there is no reason to shop here. Poor produce, not much selection and not appealing. Bread in bakery is always hard as a rock.

Came back for their annual St. Patrick’s Day corned beef dinner at their deli section. This $ 9.99 dinner includes generous servings of corned beef, cabbage and side of carrots, potato, and, normally, a small slice of soda bread. The staff here provided attentive service but unfortunately neglected to offer me their last piece of soda bread. A staff member asked the customer before me if he’d like to have it and he politely declined. However, the person helping me didn’t think to give me the same choice. So, thought I’d let Top’s Market know that this kind of thing does get noticed!

We had just purchased a house in Mary Lake and we were exhausted when at 9pm we decided to run to tops for items to celebrate the move in. We drive 1 mile to the store so it was amazingly convenient! In the store we grabbed our favorite bottle of wine and the frozen pizza that would complete our trip. At checkout we were carded, no big deal, My fiancé and I are in our thirties so I like having that happen from time to time. :) Well, he had recently renewed his so he had a hole punch in his and the DMV paperwork they give you while your new one is being sent out. The 19 yr old checker then proceeded to tell us that we could not purchase any wine without both having our valid IDs. I was floored at this point being that he had the DMV papers, and this MUST be a joke. I asked for the manager (thinking maybe he was new and just didn’t know his ID is legal) Well, it was no joke. I laughed and said «ok, well then, we can drive back home real quick and I’ll just return by myself for the purchase, so can you just keep it here for me.» Her response was literally «that won’t work, because we know he’s with you in the first place.» So our super exciting night turned to frustration obviously. We left everything there seeing as they didn’t want to be «fired for selling us alcohol» because they felt his ID was not sufficient. We left and went straight to Holiday, purchased the same bottle of wine for half the price, and got our cardboard pizza! So, It all worked out. Very disappointed at Tops though. They lost our business forever. And that’s unfortunate because I wash huge fan of theirs before that incident.
5 stars for the bakery though. The people that work in there are sweethearts. The deserts are amazing. Our son got a cookie from them every shopping trip before this, and they were just wonderful. It was a cute little tradition.

Very nice (but a little smaller than average) grocery store. Lots of high quality items. A great deli! There best aspect is the bakery! Awesome cakes and cookies! It is pricey though! I don’t come here for big shopping but it is convenient when I need to grab something quickly.

Tops Market Bakery gets 5 Stars for service, taste, creativeness & design. Ellen helped me out in a mad rush for a birthday cake for my daughter’s 21^st Birthday, who is currently away at school in Redding. She worked with me over the phone & on email and the creation was superb! I had to have the caked picked up and delivered, after speaking with the delivery person Ellen realized they did not have the name of my daughter so she gave the information making sure it was delivered to right student. Kudos to her! My daughter & her friends loved the design and said the cake was absolutely delicious — her friends wanted to know where it came from. I will definitely stop in when I am in the area.

Only went in for one thing. I was looking for a pink moscato wine. I couldn’t find it. The wine selection runs to the pricier exotics. They do have some cheap wines, but nothing I’d take home for dinner. I left empty handed and went a block up the street to Holiday. They had what I was looking for.

I had my flowers done by Christina for our wedding, and I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I did. This girl is AMAZING!!! She is so personable and she fulfilled every request that I made at VERY reasonable prices. I was able to have the wedding of my dreams and she definitely played a role in it. Thank You Christina!!!

I like’em! It was a welcome treat to go there. They have their own bakery and they didnt mind that i went in looking like a ragamuffin, and they sell ding dongs and cupcakes individually, and it was fun shopping there! You can find some really great deals! Like a big roll of paper towels, for only 89 cents! I will be glad to shop here again!

I love Top’s Market for the fact that I can run in and grab a few things for dinner and get right out. Walmart and many other larger grocery stores aren’t a quick trip convient store, you are stuck in line or behind someone for what seems like hours. I like the fact that Top’s carries local produce, quality meats and has very friendly and helpful employees. They are a little expensive and I could not do all my shopping there. I agree with others that the deli department is not great, the sandwiches are dry and the selection is limited. However the enviroment is very inviting and the staff are more than eager to help. I return to Top’s weekly!

I am a weekly Top’s Market shopper. Technically I only go there for one item but I do occasionally buy a few miscellaneous things while there. I have to maintain a completely gluten free, low fat, low sugar diet. As such I am terribly limited when it comes to foods. Top’s has a nice variety of gluten free products. They have been kind enough to order an extra box of the bars I eat — each week. Their customer service is unparalleled. I always enjoy my trips. The only drawback to this market is that it is fairly high priced. There is no way I could afford to do my weekly grocery shopping there…

I love that Top’s carries Clover milk from Petaluma. Everything else is very expensive. The checker I got was very quiet and barely spoke two words. I will only shop here for the milk, nothing else.

Great costumer service, someone is always asking if I need help finding something. Also love that they are starting to carry more organic, gluten free, local produce. Could be a little pricey, but always having good sales!

Top’s Market has recently taken over the age-​old Sunset Marketplace that used to be on Eureka Way for several years. I grew up with Sunset Market and was always charmed by its convenient location and friendly service. I can’t exactly say the same about Top’s, though. While they have improved the store layout, the store has suffered in several other areas. For one, the deli offers substantially lower quality sandwiches that are smaller with less proteins. The sandwiches are also more expensive than they used to be and also are more expensive than the better quality sandwiches you can get at Holiday or down Eureka Way at the Sandwich Shop. The deil also lacks cleanliness and I have often seen flies around the food.
At the end of the day, I think Top’s will last a maximum of three years unless it improves its business model. They offer absolutely nothing better than Holiday Market, and almost everything is more expensive. They are in a prime location and could be doing so, so much better.
For one, I think they should try to appeal to the recreational crowd. There should be more fishing, boating, hiking, and backpacking merchandise. They should improve the deli so that it competes with other local businesses to the extent that they will get customers in the door just for a sandwich. Top’s should also look into hiring higher quality employees that know how to smile and deliver faster service. The employees of just a few years ago would destroy the current employees in a customer service contest.
Their overall business model should be centered around convenience. They need a large drink fridge to cater to the high school and a better-​than-​Holiday-​Market barbecue. I have to say that Top’s Mermaid Sushi still tops Holiday, but they cannot rely on that alone to save their own business.
I could probably write a book of other improvements, but these are the ones that stick out right now. I’m trying to be constructive, here.
