2014 camary. Oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter= 173.51… Had it all day and it still wasn’t done when I came back and even called in a couple days before for a appointment. Pretty unfriendly too. Very disappointed since this is my dads go to spot for repairs. Expensive and bad service. Maybe I went on a off day.

Nice guys who do good work and stand behind it. I had my vehicle’s computer replaced by them over 6 months ago, done quickly and for a fair price. Recently, my vehicle developed an intermittent electronic glitch so I called them up and they agreed to replace the computer free of charge without a fight. Replacement computers for older vehicles are all remanufactured parts, and anyone who knows parts knows that remanufactured parts aren’t always perfect. That certainly isn’t a mechanic’s fault. I am extremely impressed with these guys for the level integrity and service they offer to their customers. That’s really hard to find in this industry, and when you find a good shop like this, you stick with them.

I called to see if I needed to make an appointment but the guy on the phone just told me to swing by. I got my brake light replaced for under $ 5 with a wait time of less than 30 minutes. I would definently come back here.

i started using marks back in 2009 — over the years i have had dependable service from mark and al on my 96′ ford ranger. They are reasonable and that’s important.

Awesome auto repair place. Since we’ve discovered them we will strictly deal with them and not Redlands Ford with whom we were previously with for over 15 years. Mark’s is very reasonable and have great mechanics who do great work. I have five vehicles and they have all my business. I appreciate how nice they are and do the work we pay for, unlike Redlands Ford whom charged us for work not performed. Al is a great guy.

Review for «service» my girlfriend received.
She brought her car into the shop a little over a month ago after her power steering went out. Al was the mechanic who assisted her when she dropped off her car for the day. She went about her day as usual but called the mechanic a few hours later, asking to have an oil change done as well, since her car was already at the shop. Al said it wasn’t a problem and that it would be taken care of.
She returned at the end of the day to find out that oil change was $ 60. SIXTY DOLLARS for an oil change, where 99.99% of auto shops charge $ 20-​$ 25. Al couldn’t offer a reason why a simple oil change amounted to 3x what other places were charging and seemed baffled when my girlfriend told him Jiffy Lube charges $ 20 for an oil change. The work done on her car was almost $ 800, oil change included. To be fair, Al did call later and left a message to offer her a refund of $ 20 for the oil change, but even then, $ 40 for an oil change is steep. She didn’t return his call.
A week or two later after the repair was done, her power steering was going in and out again. She brought it back into the shop and again was assisted by Al. She was told the problem was not enough power steering fluid and that adding it would be fine and sent her on her way. Fluid was added but it still wasn’t functioning. She returned with her car two weeks or so ago and left her car there for the mechanics to examine, though Al tried to get rid of her by telling her to return the next day. Again, they tell her to add fluid and sent her away.
This past weekend, the car was acting up again and when she went to add more steering fluid — lo’ and behold — it was already full. Clearly, steering fluid isn’t the issue.
I read through the reviews on here and noticed that a lot of the positive reviews revolved around Mark, so I told her to call the shop before bringing her car in to speak with him directly — after all, he is the owner. She did and was told that he would be in after 11:00AM today (11÷5÷2014). But when she went to the shop, she was told he wasn’t going to be in at all. Al saw and recognized her and after she explained to him that the issues she initially came into the shop with were still present, he told her to bring her car back tomorrow because he «has too many cars». No apology for the inadequate work done on her car or for all the inconveniences.
Avoid this place. Or I hate to say it, maybe bring a male friend with you if you’re a female. I wish all the other reviews about how honest and friendly this place is towards females was true, but from what I know, it’s definitely far from it.

One of my door latches on my 2011 Ford Fiesta failed and after a rude phone call with the local Ford dealership, I called over to Mark’s. The gentleman I spoke with was matter-​of-​fact but kind and I decided to take in my vehicle to see what kind of quote they could give me. As it was comparable to Ford’s, I left my car with them, and I’m glad I did. They finished my car in less than 24 hours after my dropping it off, and while the repair was still expensive — this was more due to the issue and the car than the the shop.
When working with things like this, I don’t need people to kiss my ass, I need people to be kind and honest — and they were. For that alone, I’ll keep bringing my vehicle back.

Mark’s University Service is fantastic! I have saved so mush money going to Mark and his crew for repairs to my Toyota’s and my Ford Focus. My Toyota 4 Runner has almost 300,000 miles racked up and Mark has been my only mechanic. I highly recommend Mark and Al, they are wonderful.

I have been a customer of Mark’s University Service for about a decade and wanted to let others know of the unbelievable service I have received. I admittedly do not know much about auto repair and struggle with trusting others opinion and diagnosis for areas I am not comfortable with. I had been using a shop in Yucaipa for years prior and unfortunately the shop closed because the owner (a friends father) retired. He recommended Marks.
So, I gave them a shot. Mark has worked on several of my vehicles over the years and has been VERY straightforward with his assessment of the diagnosis. Even on my wife’s vehicle (VW Passat) Mark simply explained that he was not an expert on this type of vehicle and felt that another shop would be a more appropriate choice. In this particular instance Mark was sending a $ 2,500 repair (replace heater core, +, +) to another shop. In another instance, we had an older Ford F250 that was running rough. Mark and his crew spent 5 days working on the rough running engine which resulted in several diagnosis — but all were fairly costly options. When I returned to the shop Mark explained some of the options but recommended leaving it alone… the truck still ran and based on the level of usage it did not make sense to spend a lot of $ on the repair. I took the advise and diagnosis and Mark would not take a dime although he and his crew had spent a week under the hood!
It is this type of trust and comfort that I was looking for from a mechanic. I have found it here and dread the day Mark decides to retire. I have and will continue to recommend Mark and his crew to any and all friends and acquaintances.

I’ve been going to Mark’s for years and I really trust them. The other reviewer who said she felt as a woman that they didn’t talk down to her hit it right on the head. They are very respectful, friendly, and above all, honest. I always come away feeling that I paid a fair price for good work.

Mark’s University is a great service station. If you want someone to fix your car RIGHT, they are they people to call. They do tend to be a little on the pricey side, but sometimes paying extra is worth it just to make sure it gets done right.

5-​star all the way. I tried other mechanics (moved from Redlands) but quickly regretted it for the trial-​and-​error, «the computer told us to fix it» mis-​diagnosed repairs I spent too much on. Now I FIND ways to get my car/​van to Marks… they know what they are doing. [A happy customer through 2 cars/​1 van (for me) and 3 mini-​trucks (kids’) over the past 8 years (today: February, 2011)].
Yes, work with their schedule by calling ahead. They can usually get you in the next day, if there’s any wait at all.

went to Toyota of San Bernardino last week… purchased a battery for $ 160…my «advisor» informed me i need a three stage fuel system service due to a «low idle»…cost $ 359…took it instead to Mark’s University Service… he cleaned the throttle for $ 35…was done in 30 minutes… Go there!

The folks at Mark’s University Service are fantastic!!! I am female and these guys treat me wonderfully. I’m not very savvy when it comes to automotive repair but Mark never talks down to me and treats me with respect, like a valued customer. They have always done the job right, at a more than fair price and in a timely manner. That is something I don’t see very often as a consumer!
