This is a new coffee gem for me. I usually go to Starbucks and study, but I had a gift card so I went to try this place out. I will say this place definitely turned me, I am a coffee bean fan now. I usually order an Iced Carmel Macchiato with an extra shot, but when I ordered that the barista immediately knew I was a Starbucks regular, the Coffee Bean barista informed me that it’s called an Iced Carmel Latte here. She was so cool and didn’t make me feel like a complete noob. However, ever since when I have to chose I always go Coffee Bean. The price range is the same as Starbucks so expect that. Great place to study, but gets really cold so bring a jacket.

Came in this morning with only a handful of customers inside. Ordered 3 drinks, none of which were complicated or needing alot of time. The forst was a coffee which i was told tasted old. Waited for over 15 min for 2 drinks which included a latte which was done almost immediately after I ordered and an ice Coffee which was seriously powdered product mixed with water. The lady who ordered some sort of frap behind me received her order before me. After 13 min I asked what was taking so long and the girl said oh your order is coming up. She then hands me my ice Coffee which was the wrong size and says have a nice day. I explained I ordered a larger size and she takes a larger cup pours it in then fills it with milk until it is full hands it to me and doesn’t even apologize. Will not be returning. The drinks were terrible and we threw them out. Would not recommend.

I really hate to leave such a poor rating but after my interaction with the Barista by the name of LeaLoni, this Store fittingly deserves this score when they threatened to call the cops on me, because I’m a tired medical student fighting sleep. Yes, you read right. I was falling asleep and she said I wasn’t allowed to do that, and she would call the cops to have me removed! I’m a med student studying for boards, and I needed to change my usual Starbucks location. I was/perpetually and incredibly tired, so I placed my head down on the table, when a LeaLoni came and told me that I was not allowed to sleep. Again I tried to stay up, but my head nodded again. Mind you I am already caffeined up and just exhausted from the intense studying. She comes to me and threatens to call the COPS. The cops! «It’s going to have to come to that if I keep seeing you nod, this is the second time I see you do this.» I informed her that to suggest to a undisruptive, loyal, and peaceful customer that calling the cops was necessary when i wasn’t breaking the law, neither was impeding their business was UNCALLED for… I calmly told her that it was inappropriate, and quite extreme to say that being tired was a crime. I am disgusted at her approach and would not recommend studying here. I am going back to starbucks! I’ve never been threatened to being kicked out for closing my eyes, nor threatened to having police officers Escort me out! DONOTGIVETHEM your BUSINESS!

Its a franchise– so you either love it or hate it. But, this location serves it well. Drinks: My go-to is the basic Iced Vanilla Latte. Can’t really go wrong here — usually pretty consistent. Prices are expensive for coffee but pretty subpar with normal coffeeshop rates aka $ 4 drinks. Ambience: Its clean, quiet and has a friendly staff. That plus ample tables and outlets and you got the perfect study spot in Redlands. Both outdoor and indoor seating available and reliable Wi-Fi. The location layout is very smooth and similar to fancy coffeeshops you see on TV. Plus its located in the center of Redlands with grocery stores in the same plaza and downtown just a few blocks down.

Since I go here a couple times a week, I’ve finally decided to write a review on my favorite coffee shop. I really love this location because of its chill environment, friendly staff, and consistent quality in their drinks. I am a big iced coffee person, independent on what time of the year it is, and I think that the coffee served here is much better than that served at Starbucks. The service is also much quicker and the lines are shorter and move a lot faster. During their non-busy hours, this place is perfect for studying and I think that it isn’t as loud as some other coffee shops and has plenty of seating. Some really good drinks that I would recommend here are their matcha lattes, café lattes, peppermint vanilla lattes, and most of their ice blended drinks.

I got the Winter Dream Tea and I HATEDIT! It took me about twenty minutes to drink about one centimeter, until finally, I had to accept defeat(my mom also didn’t seem to be a fan, though she said she preferred it with a shot of espresso). I very rarely ask for a drink to be re-made, but this time I did. I received great service; they were very willing to re-make any drink that I asked for. To be safe, I just asked for a caramel latte with soy, and it was deeeeelicious!

So friendly! Great atmosphere, many choices, yummy drinks. A little pricey,(hence the 4 out of 5 stars) but a great experience. Starbucks right across the street & I will choose Coffee Bean whenever I’m at this location. Like other reviews said, it’s a quiet little haven in the bustling of DT Redlands.

Usually when I come in I can get quick service. Today not so much. 7 people in line and no one to start taking other orders. The other girl just cleaning while the guy at the register was having problems. Finally got out of line after 10 minutes and left

The staff is nice and the shop is comfortable. My problem is with the product. OK, I don’t think a sugar-free vanilla latte is a health food, but when I saw her add a big scoop of powdered crud, I knew something was wrong. And, yes, it tasted like undissolved powdered crud. I expected a coffee/espresso with some steamed milk and a shot of sugar-free vanilla syrup. I can’t find an ingredient list for their sugar-free vanilla, but this is what the regular vanilla latte contains: Sugar, nonfat dry milk, non-dairy creamer [coconut oil, corn syrup solids, sodium caseinate(a milk derivative), sodium citrate, mono –and diglycerides, salt], natural vanilla flavor, salt, guar gum, silicon dioxide(to prevent caking), vanillin(an artificial flavor), and xanthan gum. I hadn’t bargained on all of these chemicals. Next time that I don’t have time to go to a local coffee shop, I’ll hit Starbucks. This was like something I’d be served out of the cappuccino machine at a gas station.

Awesome service, nice employees, great tea, delicious coffee, and they have honey sticks while Starbucks doesn’t! That’s my favorite part about this place! Really chill atmosphere, the best place for studying. A little haven in the middle of bustling Downtown Redlands.

Terrible terrible service. I never write reviews mainly because I am a server myself, and I understand the serving business can be tought. However, the girl on register, who is thin blonde and a bit on the tall side, was extremely rude and disrespectful. She was talking to emt guys probably because they were in uniform and to boost her sad low self esteem, and she would not take our order until I forcefully walked up to the counter so that she was not able to ignore me. She wasn’t even the one to acknowledge me the emt guy did. Then she felt the need to glare at me and be rude. Terrible experience.

I only get one of 3 drinks, but they are outstanding. Moroccan Mint tea latte, Moroccan Mint tea or Pure Chocolate Ice Blended. They used to have a Moroccan Mint ice blended, but I’m happy with any of these. Add on a croissant or cheese danish, and it’s perfect. These guys get my order right every time.

Those who know me, know I’m a Starbucks’ fan — but I also adore CBTLs. In fact, I kind or prefer them over Starbucks. I just wish there were more CBTL’s that were closer to where I live. This is our local Coffee Bean, located in a tucked away spot in the Vons/Trader Joe’s plaza in downtown Redlands. Somewhat ironically, they are located across the street from a Starbucks. What I like about CBTL is that their selection of tea drinks, especially iced teas, has always been top notch. I drink more tea-based drinks than coffee ones, and personally I’m addicted to their Swedish Berries tea and their seasonal Cherry Blossom teas. They also usually have a really good selection of pastries and such to nibble on if you’re hungry, and have an outside patio if you’d like to enjoy the California weather whilst you sip. Seating inside is also rather plentiful for the small size of the shop. That all being said, I rather like this location. The employees are always laid back and helpful, the store is always clean and well lit, and they don’t have their music turned up to Patent Pending like Starbucks often does. Its a very relaxing, chill spot to unwind, study or just hang out. They offer free WiFi which has a very strong signal. I can hop onto it from across the street at Pieology! I highly recommend giving CBTL a try in general if your a Starbucks fan. This location is a GREAT place to start. Try a couple items they feature only here, like a Winter Dream or a Black Forrest, and I can almost guarantee you’ll come back to explore!

I love this Coffee Bean store. I come here all the time to hang out and drink coffee or study for school. The staff are all really nice people and they have great suggestions when you’re not sure what you’re feeling. As opposed to Starbucks, they use powders for their drinks. I enjoy drinking their lattes(: There aren’t too many tables/chairs, but come early to secure a spot! Parking is abundant — close by to Trader Joe’s, Corner Bakery, and Vons.

Still a great place to study, hangout, or just talk among people. The staff are amazing and they’re very nice too. I’m an ice blended guy so I definitely recommend getting their vanilla, mocha, or dark chocolate extreme ice blendeds.

This is the closest CBTL for miles(I think the next closest is either Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga, or Fontana). That being said, this CBTL does a great job representing the area and caring for its customers who crave CBTL. Parking is readily available as it is a part of a shopping complex. The interior is clean with multiple tables spanning the walls of the coffee shop. The staff is really nice and helpful in taking and preparing your order. They even give you suggestions if you ask them. Their drinks are made with the quality that you would expect from CBTL. The only caveat is that since it is the only CBTL in the area, it can get pretty crowded in the morning and after work hours. But all in all, CBTL is a fine place for a coffee-pick-me-up.

Larger than normal coffee shop with plenty of power outlets for laptops and spacious bathrooms. I am lactose-intolerant and so when I ordered the Black Forrest, they accommodated me by substituting extra coffee in place of cream.

I love the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf — amazing aromas, friendly staff, and ugh. Such fantastic product, always. Today, however, they gave me pause(in a good way!). At the register, you had the options to purchase a pound of coffee that would be sent to a soldier, or to donate a little, I’m assuming in light of the 4th. I just wanted to say that I think this is a fantastic way to send a kind word to another person. It doesn’t matter your politics — this isn’t about that. So. Hats off to you, CB&TL. Thanks for allowing me to help spread a little kindness, in a cup of coffee.

This place is great. I used to frequent the Starbucks across the street, but it was too crowded for me. I recently went here to study for an exam while I was visiting my mum. There’s free wifi but you get kicked out after two hours. You can log back in after a ten minute coffee break. The baristas are quite friendly too. I like the atmosphere. The only thing is that they close at 23:00. But I guess that’s understandable since Redlands isn’t really a night town. It would’ve been great though if they opened til later.
