Apria Health Care

Wow, I was really worried after reading the reviews as we just started with this company. There was a little mixup with the original delivery address but it was the doctor’s office mistake. They came at the appointed time and the delivery person was knowledgeable and professional. Yesterday I called to ask if we could get a third refillable tank, I only waited about 2 minutes to speak to a real person. She was very helpful and assured me I could pick up the tank in Redmond in the afternoon. I went to Apria and after finding the correct entrance the receptionist found my order and asked if I wanted them to bring it to the front desk or would I pick it up in back. I said I would pick it up as I had to go back to my car anyway and I would not have to carry it to my car. I followed her directions, found the pickup spot, signed the papers and placed the tank in my car. My only complaint would be that the reception entrance is not marked very well, Apria Health Care is a large building with different entries for different parts of their products and services.

Horrible Customer Service. I called today and spoke to CS and asked to be transferred to the local office to see if I could pick up my item today and was told there is no way to be connected to the Redmond office unless I knew a specific Extension. I asked her to transfer me to the Receptionist’s Extension and she said she didn’t know it. I understand the concept of a Regional Customer Service call center, but there should always be a way to contact the local office that services you.
After sitting on hold for 10 minutes waiting on a Supervisor, I was disconnected. Dreadful service in my opinion and if my insurance didn’t dictate that I use them, I would certainly take my business elsewhere.

I’ve been using Apria for about five years. No problems. Prompt service. Automated phone service that works well enough. Pleasant people. Tech support was fine, though I haven’t needed it often. Do recall an indifferent receptionist, but she wasn’t there long.
It’s corporate medicine, so it’s bound to feel a little impersonal.

I don’t know how much of this applies to this specific Apria office, but it’s the one we’re using, so they get the «credit».
What few interactions we have had with the Redmond office have been fine, but whenever we need something from «corporate» the experience has been absolutely horrible.
Cases in point:
1) It took 30 minutes on hold to simply give a change of address (so that the supplies we get from them would be delivered to our new home). How hard can this be? Why can you not do this online?
2) When they ship supplies, they auto-​bill our credit card and then on the same date mailing us a bill for the same amount, with no indication that they had already taken the money out of our credit card. I call this fraud.
3) We have dual insurance. They consistently fail to bill secondary insurance (they try but it keeps getting denied). After an hour on the phone trying to get this resolved, they still don’t know why our secondary insurance is denying their claims.
We are definitely going to look for another provider. Everything is mail-​order, so it’s not like we have to use a close-​by office.

I used them once, 6 or 7 years ago. Been getting automatic phone calls that require you to call a number and wait for a person during business hours to answer in order to opt out. Done this at least three times, most recently today. Unless you like robo calls you can’t reliably stop, I’d suggest getting CPAP supplies elsewhere.
To be fair, they were polite and efficient the one time I bought supplies, so giving a star for that.

I waited all day for them to pick up the rented hospital bed. I requested morning pick up. They said they work until 9 pm. Well it is now 9 pm and they never showed up! do not use this company. They will not tell you a time or even a range for drop off or pick up! I called today at 12 after being on hold for 15 mins they then hung up on me. I called back again, on hold again, they then said they would definitely pick it up today. I think I will put the damned thing out on the street for them to pick it up there! No reason to run a business like this! None at all!

I signed on with Apria nearly 5 years ago and the service was absolutely fabulous, BUT in the past 2 years they have seriously lost their way!!! I have had nothing but problems from them with no follow up or care, my prescription was even tagged to a different person so it showed I didn’t have one, and made me wait 2 months to find out it was their mistake! Don’t go to Lincare either they’re even worse! I went to Norco we’ll see how that go’s…

I have not had the opportunity to even visit them yet and already having problems scheduling my first appointment with them. First, I called their main number and then listened to the recording. Got operator and told her I had a letter for MD to go for mask fitting. And was transferred to another person who asked for my name and read my birthdate to me. Okay, patient confidentiality is not important for them. Then I had to be transferred to a respiratory specialist for scheduling. Which meant I went on hold again. 20 minutes and I had to hang up to see my dentist and had to call again to repeat the process.
Will see if the in person experience is better and then come back to add to this review.

Worst service ever received. Waited very long time (over one hour) to return wrong parts that were shipped to my home. Customer service was poor at best.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. The billing department is the worst there is. The local Redmond manager will promise to help, and then nothing will happen. Expect phone calls and bills for things you do not owe for months and months on end. Avoid this company if at all humanely possible. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Overall, I have not been too impressed.
Before I moved to the area, I used another company like this where I used to live. They came out to my house to show me the available equipment. Apria insisted I had to come to their office and by appointment only (which naturally coincided, roughly, with my own office’s hours).
First I went there (luckily near my work place) and was kept waiting a while, though I had an appointment. Then finally was taken back to an office to examine the equipment (Cpap masks) that I would be choosing from. Companies I’ve used in the past usually had about 10 masks to choose from, they had 3 (of which were all nearly identical).
I finally decide on one. The insurance picks up 100%. A month or so later I got a letter from Apria and since I knew I «owed» them nothing, I forgot about it before I opened it. Then I received a few others, and before you know it, they were charging me after all and were telling me how late I was on my payment.
Called my insurance and discovered that Apria had submitted incorrectly and I was correct in that I shouldn’t have owed anything.
