Fatima’s Alterations & Tuxedo Rentals

She did a great job on all 5 of my suits and gave me a discount! I had rips in a suit and she fixed them. Some of my suits were far too large or small. Now all of them fit perfect. I will definitely be a regular customer from now on. Thanks Fatima!

Am I the only one who didn’t find Fatima rude? She was INCREDIBLY kind to me-​very accommodating. I grew up overseas and most of my family/​friends are foreign. Sometimes things get culturally. Just a suggestions but again everyone’s experience is their own.
Yes a bit pricey indeed. However, Fatima’s work is A+. I took 3 pairs of pants to be taken in EVERYWHERE. She did a perfect job.
So all in all, yes pricey, a little slow-​but I happy with my pants: D

I read all of these reviews but I needed to get my dressed fixed from another seamstress who made it entirely too small. She was pleasant, my dress was fixed perfectly and it wasn’t crazy expensive. It took a few days longer then I’d like but 2 other alteration places said they just couldn’t fix it. She wasn’t rude to me at all and her work is good. I wouldn’t suggest going there if you are in a rush but my dress fits like a glove and I’m bringing my other 3 dresses this week

I have to laugh at a lot of the other reviews. Don’t worry, Fatima does top-​quality work, she’s a real pleasure to do business with if you treat her kindly, and her prices are fair.
Fatima is definitely overworked and I can see why she doesn’t have patience for rude, demanding, or impatient people. Treat her with kindness and respect and she’ll do the same for you. I expect that most of the bad reviewers simply don’t know how to deal nicely with others and got what they deserved, which I find hilarious!
For me, it’s like going to the Seinfeld Soup Nazi. Just behave properly and do what you’re told to have the best-​looking alterations around!
But, if you think you know better than Fatima how your garments should be altered to fit (like one of the other reviewers), I agree that you should go elsewhere. It would be like telling the Soup Nazi how to make better soup. Not gonna go over well!
Fatima takes pride in her work and isn’t going to do something she believes is a really bad idea just because you think you know better than someone who has been in the business for a lifetime.
So, don’t be put off by the reviewers who complain about Fatima being rude. I guarantee you that they all deserved it!
The great thing about this is that the rude people get chased off, and it’s a pleasure for the rest of us to do business there. :)

Fatima is crazy. I gave her a shirt and asked her to fix a button. I went to pick up the shirt and she said that her husband had dry cleaned the shirt as complementary service… it was a simple cotton shirt I got from gap store… I said I just wanted to button fixed and there was no need to dry clean it… She was acting as if she did a big favor… I was in a hurry that day and did not check if the button was fixed and left the store. When I came home I realized that the button was not fixed. I took the shirt back to her… She put a new button on it. when I went to pick up the shirt the second time she told me that I cheated her. she said that when I gave her the shirt the first time I had asked her to dry clean it… I told her that I am willing to pay for both the dry clean and for the new button even though I was very sure that I never asked for the shirt to be cleaned… She did not accept the money… This incident left a bad taste in my mouth… She is an old woman… I did not want to fight with her…

I’ve been to her new location in Kirkland which is inside «Rose Hill Cleaners.» DO NOT COME HERE. I’ve come here several times because it’s so close to my house and convenient, but this will be my final time. Each time I’ve come to get my clothes altered and my husbands clothes dry cleaned, Fatima and her husband have been very rude and the prices pretty high, but I’ve returned ONLY because their work was decent and it’s nearby. However, I’ve come to the bitter conclusion that it’s not worth it. I wish I’d read the reviews before on this place (usually I’m pretty good about that!), but I’ve learned my lesson, and hopefully will save some of you the trouble I went through. Today was the last straw, because I’d come in to pick up my jeans on our arranged day but she actually scolded me for coming in early in the day rather than later because my clothes were not ready. It would be one thing if she politely asked me to return later in the day and maybe even apologize for not having the clothes done, but instead she actually scolded me, and told me to come in tomorrow morning! Do not come here!!!

I called Fatima’s to get a general estimate to alter a bridesmaid dress. She said very rudely, «How am I supposed to know much it cost!?» She was very terse. I calmy said, «well, I will take my business somewhere else.» Then she back-​tracked and tried to explain that how she doesn’t know since she doesn’t know what it looks like.
Ironically, the reason I called her first is because she LIVES in my neighborhood! :D RUDE!

I have had a similar experience dealing with this woman, Fatima, and I too can’t believe that she is in business. I brought in a shirt as I wanted the sleeves shortened. When I picked it up, she started scolding me as she said I should have washed the shirt before bringing it to her. She did this on the sidewalk, in front of another customer outside her old store. I was stunned. Of course, I would NEVER go back.

When I saw the Fatima’s moved to a new location (128^th Ave and 85^th St. in Kirkland) I was surprised. I haven’t been their new location, but I did have a bad experience with Fatima’s a few years back at their old location.
I took a suit in for alteration and when I got it back it didn’t look like they had done anything except cut some buttons off the sleeves. Otherwise the suit was as ill-​fitting as it was when I took in into her. When I tried the suit on in front of her she was rude, dismissive, and insisted that it fit. I wasn’t going to for the baggy look – so as far as I was concerned, it was too big. I took the suit to a tailor in Bellevue and he did a great job with it.

The quality of Fatima’s work is good, but she is so unbelievably rude to her customers that I wonder how she stays in business.
I gave her repeat business over several years, but it seemed that each time I visited her rudeness reached new heights. When she wasn’t being rude to me she was complaining about everything from the building management, the other tenants, her other customers, people who pay with credit cards, and on and on!!!
Ultimately, she was so rude and insulting to me that I confronted her about it to give her the chance to respond and possibly maintain my business. She had the nerve to argue with me about whether she was rude or not. She was unwilling to accept any responsibility for her actions or respond to my concerns in a professional manner. A pretty unbelievable way to treat customers! Skip the drama here and head to another tailor who actually cares about their customers and treats them with common courtesy.

I’ve never actually ordered anything from this place, but the one time I had any interaction with the owner, she was so incredibly RUDE… I mean, I couldn’t believe how RUDE this person was, my husband and I told her, to her face, we’d never, ever come to her business for anything EVER! We were just walking by and she had some complaint about something (I don’t even remember it now) and started arguing with us about it, right in front of her store!
If that is how they treat a customer just walking by their shop, I don’t want to have anything to do with their business.
I’d stay away like the plague.
