I’ve wanted to try Midori bakery for over a year &FINALLY stopped by. The baked goods are beautifully displayed & the décor was very nice. The pastries are soooooo good! My husband and I got the ham & cheese croissant & mushroom brioche, both were fantastic! The croissant was so flakey and crispy. He said this place is dangerous for our wallets & pants size. You can tell these pastries are made with love and tlc. Will definitely be back to try other pastries.

We had the jasmine pearl tea, a cappuccino, dark chocolate gâteau, sugar shortbread, and lemon and ginger scone! Everything was so delicious and we shall return soon. They also make cakes to order and I imagine there will be a birthday cake in my future. We returned for another visit and tried a few more treats. We were not disappointed. I’ll include the photos so you can run over and grab some deliciousness for yourselves!!!

We wanted to visit this bakery after trying their raspberry kugelhopf at Urban Coffee Lounge in Kirkland and were wowed at the pastry. This bakery has a nice interior that with its rich wood wood floors and paneling that pleasantly felt like more of an upscale coffee shop than a bakery. We picked up three treats to try later, the Midoreo(their version of the Oreo), a dark chocolate gâteau, and a chocolate cream puff. The Midoreo was really unedible, it had this bizarre after taste. My daughter who will eat anything sweet also refused it and we ended up throwing it away after three small bites. On the day we went we bought the last Midoreo so not too sure what was off with the one we picked up since it seems to be a popular dessert. The other two desserts were amazing with the dark chocolate gâteau rivaling the dark chocolate cake we’ve picked up from Bakery Nouveau and the coffee cream puff being a piece of heaven. We’re looking forward to going back but avoiding the Midoreo next time.

That cream puff is delicious. I’m glad I went on a Saturday when they sell it. I didn’t know that it had a jelly filling. The cream part tasted like lilikoi. I tried the midori cookie too and that was an awesome grown up oreo. The chocolate chip cookie was good but nothing special. The croissants were yummy. Everything was yummy! I wish they would open one in Bellevue/Factoria area. We need good bakeries in this area.

4 stars for kouigan aman raspberry filling. It was buttery and nice texture. The tartness of raspberry compliment the sweetness of the dough nicely. 2 stars for dark chocolate gâteau. It was a very rich pretty cake and overly sweet. If they could cut 50% of the sweetness, this cake could be a winner. It had nice crust at the bottom with layer of mouse. 3 stars for cappuccino. It was an average coffee.

This bakery was referred to me as someone who could do an awesome design cake for my son’s Bar Mitzvah. I sent an email and called to follow-up when I did not receive a response. The phone conversation was a disaster and I was basically told that they may or may not have seen my email, they may or may not be able to help me, they would only help me if I sent a picture of what I wanted(when the whole point of going to a place that designs custom cakes is for them to help you with design) and that they receive 40 calls a day and 50 emails so. .. . basically they did not want my business and made me feel like I wasn’t worth their time. I hope you are more special than me if you want their assistance!

Used to love this place when it was a shop-in-a-block near Willows Rd. Love it even more in their new location with an expanded assortment of pastries and cakes! The Kouign-Amman is simply put — the best thing to ever come out of an oven. Period. All other pastries are delicious — but as one reviewer puts it — a nightmare if you are on a diet :) The service is always friendly and the new décor make one feel very welcome. Try it out!

I stopped in and tried out the lemon almond coconut croissant as well as the chocolate croissant and both were delicious. The lemon one almost tasted just like a tart. Their lattes are also decent.

I went there just afternoon on a Tuesday and they still had quite the selection. I tried the kougin aman, chocolate croissant, triple chocolate cake, molasses cookie, and the midoreo cookie. Everything has an addicting quality about it! so delicious! I can’t wait to go back. My entire family loves this place. Update: I received a quarter sheet cake of the triple chocolate cake for my birthday and it’s the best birthday cake I’ve ever had. Adorable chocolate décor. My family loved it including my sister who doesn’t like birthday cake! She had 2 pieces! I have a feeling her birthday cake will be from here too! Everyone went back for seconds and we were all impressed with the freshness, quality and overall taste!

This is becoming one of my favorite bakeries. I usually go early morning so I can make sure to have a full selection not baked goods. There is always a small line but it moves rather quickly. I always have a hard time trying just one pastry so there have definitely been themes where my husband and I will get several and share and it is amazing. My favorite are the Kouign amann and the kugelhopf(specifically the raspberry vanilla and original one). I have probably had one of everything over my visits here and have never left disappointed. They also have good coffee and they make custom cakes too! Definitely a great addition to downtown Redmond and a great bakery overall!

I feel blessed to have one of the best pastry and dessert shops so close to home. Everything here is worth a try, you will not be disappointed. Unless you are on a diet, then this place is your worst nightmare ;) Ordered passion fruit sheet cake for my son’s first birthday… mind blowing Top it off with friendly service, you simply can’t go wrong.

My first review of 2016 and it’s a 5-star-er! Way to start the Unilocal year off right! I’ve been meaning to try this patisserie for a while now as I pass it near daily and the Unilocal reviews are so favorable. Well, my kid and I finally made it in here and I was seriously blown away.(And I’m from Montréal where pastry shops — EXCELLENT pastry shops — abound). I was first impressed with the café interior, as it’s bright and modernistic, with a glass-walled back to watch the pastries being made. It makes for a visually open and bright space, coupled with the window wall in front facing Redmond Way. Next, I was impressed with the warm greeting I received from a guy behind the counter. He had the most genuine smile, and when I asked him about all the pastries behind the counter, he was extremely knowledgeable about each and every one. He sure knew the product line!(I think he said he was from Columbia. Had a cool accent. Super nice guy!). We were only going to get 1 or 2 pastries to take home but this guy described each pastry so well, they all sounded SOOOOOO good, that I ended up purchasing 4 pastries(with the self-knowledge that I will be returning shortly to try a few others!), as well as a huge cookie(I forget which kind). We got a croissant, a chocolate croissant, a kouign amman and another chocolate concoction(I forget the name of this last one. It was like a fluffy chocolate pastry of some sort. Not the cylindrical chocolate glazed mini-cake which, incidentally, looks divine!). Last, and most importantly, the quality of the pastries. Can you say to die for? I’m a stickler for croissants. This one here is legit. Perfect. The other pastries and the cookie were inhaled by my rabid family, all saying they were as good as they come. Know that it’s failry pricey here. My order was over $ 16. But I believe you get what you pay for. You want fresh, gourmet, as-good-as-it-gets pastries? This is the going price. Expect it and be happy there’s a place like this here in Redmond. I sure am.

I was looking for a place with amazing bread and pastries and Midori Bakery is as good as it gets. Tricia(or Trisha) greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine greeting(sure felt like it), which was the friendliest gesture I’ve received here in the Redmond area. I’m visiting from Texas and from where I’m from, one does get smiles from all around. She asked me if it was my first time here and I said yes. She told me that there were ham & cheese croissants fresh out of the oven. I ordered those and a macchiato. She asked me if I was sure and explained that their macchiato was the traditional kind, a shot of espresso with a little milk. So I changed my order to a café latte. The ham & cheese croissant was buttery, flaky(obviously messy, but messy in a good way) and warm. It was the sliver of warmth and sunshine in the dreary, rainy Pacific Northwest morning. And Tricia was right in saying that I needed something sweet to finish off. I ordered a Kouign Amman as recommended by many and was more than satisfied. I regretted having too many carbs, BUT I was very, very happy. The friendliness of the staff(Shout out to the lovely Tricia) and awesome product makes this place a must visit. I shall return this weekend for cream puffs and another cuppa joe.

I bought one of everything. No really. One. Of. Everything. I was getting my hair done a ways down the street and talking about delicious bakeries. The gal recommended I try Midori before making the trek back home, and after about three hours in the chair my stomach agreed. When I arrived it was slim pickins because it was so late in the day, but everything left looked SOGOOD. So I figured I could get a sampling and share with the family, and got one of everything. I don’t even know how to explain the heaven that we experienced that night. Everything we had was so delicious, my favorite being the nutella banana croissant. Do yourself a favor and stop here when you’re in Redmond next — or better yet, make a trip just for this little spot, you won’t regret it.

So updating the review already. We happened to be there for their one-year anniversary(completely coincidental). Walked in to get a couple of treats and ended up walking out with sugar rushes from all of the mini samples we tried. All of the desserts were amazing. Now that I have tried multiple items from them, I won’t hesitate to say that the quality of the desserts here is very high. I tried the panna cotta(both espresso and lemon), cherry pistachio cream puff, walnut fudge cookie, midoreo, caramel brownie, pumpkin pie. No, I didn’t eat all of the samples myself but shared with husband and kids. Even so, I probably don’t need to eat dessert for a month now. Out of all of those desserts, I would highly recommend the pistachio cherry cream puff. The flavors and textures are amazing. Everything was excellent though. The one thing I would pass on would be the caramel brownie. Maybe because it was a mini sample, I couldn’t taste any caramel. We also still bought a full size pain du chocolat(which had come out fresh). Finally! A croissant worthy of the name in the area. Perfectly flaky on the outside and melt in the mouth inside. This, along with their excellent coffee would provide the perfect breakfast or dessert.

This bakery rocks! The atmosphere is modern industrial clean. Friendly staff. Daily specials. Not crowded at all on a Sun morning. I came here for breakfast on a Sunday and was greeted immediately and told about today’s specials. Everything I tried was delectable. However, the ham and cheese croissant stood out from the rest. It’s quite possibly the best croissant I’ve ever had including in Paris. The ham was so delicious. The whole thing was to die for. I want to come back and get 4 ham and cheese croissants next time, That’s my plan and I’m sticking to it. :))

Top notch pastries! I HEART Midori Bakery. I never said congratulations for their relocation, though I admit I loved when they were in the other location so less people could find them. I’m really glad they are branching out because no one should hide the whereabouts of this bakery. No matter what location they were in, Midori always managed to sell out 50% of their goods by late morning. I have been watching too many TV shows about baking and talking to too many pastry chefs. Their croissants are one of my favorites. On top of that, their Kugelhopf, carrot cake, caramel gâteau, Kouign Aman, and other danishes are also my favorites. It’s the closest place I can buy a decent Kouign Aman. I never thought a bakery like this would be open so early, but I’m glad they are. I won’t say more, but you HAVETO try this out. I urge you to go early in the morning because that’s when the best options are out.

Midori is awesome – Morgan and her husband do an incredible job keeping everyone happy and business coming in. The croissants – fluffy and crispy like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve also had the tiramisu, scones, and a variety of cookies. The coffee? Also top-notch. They moved recently from another Redmond location and this new space is just gorgeous. Bathrooms are great too. My parents have ordered cakes through Midori, too, and those have always been killer. The good: so much flavor, so many tastes. New stuff all the time. The bad: go early(ish), they can run out of their deliciousness.

Just yes. Their pastries are beautifully made with the right ingredients that give them each a special personality. I tried the kouign amann and their macarons and both were not too sweet. Rather, very subtle and aromatic. I personally can’t wait to try their other pastries as I am hooked! In addition, had some of their loose leaf tea(jasmine pearl tea). Authentic, soothing, and real to the taste. This is my perfect café! Plus everyone who works there is sweet and lovely. This is your corner neighborhood bakery!

Midori Bakery is a bakery that formerly operated out of a business park in an industrial part of Redmond. It traded its former digs for a new larger space in downtown Redmond on Redmond Way near Redmond Town Center a few months back. Here you will find high quality baked goods, coffee and sandwiches served in a modern contemporary space. There are visible windows into the kitchen, so you can see the pastry chefs working away here. The pastries selection here is modest and is along the lines of the selection you would find at Crumble & Flake in Seattle. Items on the menu include the ubiquitous croissant in several varieties, as well as some more harder to find offerings like kouign amann and kugelhopf(bundt cake). Occasionally they offer will artisan bread and baguettes but this not an everyday offering. Call the bakery or check Facebook to see if they have this. I have had a few of their pastries including their kouign amann, croissants and coffee cakes. The kouign amann is decent, though this isn’t really a favorite French pastry of mine. It reminds me of a palmier. It needs a reheat if you take it to go. If you do reheat, put it on a nonstick surface otherwise it will stick. The croissant is my favorite pastry here. Particularly the Nutella croissant. It is quite massive. One of these and a coffee would suffice for breakfast. It seems like there is a little too much going on with the banana, Nutella and almond or chocolate pieces, but somehow it works. They have two varieties of coffeecake. I think the sour cream version is the way to go since it is moist and dessert like. The other one with chocolate is alright, but a little dry. I did also try a short latte here and it is well made, albeit a little pricier than other coffee spots. I believe the coffee roaster is Caffe Lusso which has a roastery in Redmond. If you are looking for a bakery on the Eastside to match the offerings you would find at bakeries like Bakery Nouveau and Crumble & Flake in Seattle, Midori Bakery is one I would recommend.

Love. This. Place. It is my go-to place for any French bakery goods! The goods that are made here a huge & aren’t too expensive. My favorite item is the caramel croissant, but it’s so rare to find it here since it’s always sold out!!! I wish they made more to meet the demand for it :( Other than that, their chocolate croissant is really good. Let’s just say that Midori and her crew are known for French croissant. Light. Fluffy. Delicious. Homg. I want one now. Anyways, I really recommend checking this place out! Have a coffee date? Grab coffee here & a delicious croissant. You’ll wow your date. Want alone time? Sit here and do your work! They don’t disappoint :) EDIT(3⁄31): I just wanted to add on that the owner has a great personality and shows her passion of her baked goods very well. Her bright personality and smile can make your day. :)
