Established in 2009.

I started Sakura’s Skin Shoppe in 2009 with the hopes of keeping the personal intimacy, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the skin care industry alive! After working for larger corporate spas and medi-​spas and realizing that people aside from needing great skin care really just want to be treated equally important as the next and not valued by the size of their wallet, I knew it was time to establish such a place.

My philosophy at Sakura’s Skin Shoppe is that everyone should be able to take care of their largest most accessible organ. The clinical skin services I provide are current with the advancements in the skin care industry and very affordable.

Sakura’s Skin Shoppe understands that everything is all connected. Including the mind and the skin and therefore has evolved into Sakura Skin And Mind. Now offering Hypnotherapy to not only address skin conditions, but other distressing issues as well.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Esthetician for twelve years. Originally licensed in Chicago, IL, I have worked in many spa settings here in WA state including plastic surgeon & dermatology offices and medi-​spas. I have experience with facials, laser light therapy, dermaplaning, micro-​current, micro-​dermabrasion, chemical peels, waxing, brow/​lash tinting, and spa body treatments. I also have knowledge in treating many skin disorders like acne, hyperpigmentation, eczema, and rosacea. I opened Sakura’s Skin Shoppe, which has now evolved into Sakura Skin and Mind, in May of 2009. I wanted to continue to provide current technological and clinical advancements in skin care while maintaining a not only affordable, but personable experience as well. I also am a Hypnotherapist certified through the WA State Dept. of Health. I received certification through Bastyr University under the teachings of Mary Lee LaBay Ph.D. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool in helping people overcome any issue.

I am writing again because I just cannot tell everyone enough how GREAT Sakura is! She is THE BEST esthetician I have ever been to. She is attentive, delicate, efficient, knowledgeable and well versed, current, and takes the time to treat YOU as an individual with your own needs — AND she is decently priced. You will leave refreshed, relaxed, new and feeling like you got a celebrity’s facial for a fraction of the cost. She is just pure fabulous-​ness.
I recently moved away — and I miss Sakura! I have yet to find anyone that comes close to her — in both skill and personality. Whenever I can, I will schedule with Sakura when I am in the area. I have been spoiled for too many years to give her up — so to heck with distance! I will make it happen! She is that worth it :-)

I was given a gift for a facial for my birthday from a friend. I must say that this was an excellent facial. I LOVED it. This place was so relaxing and the owner Sakura was very nice an especially accommodating.
The business is located inside a house that has other wellness businesses in it. Sakura is located upstairs. When I came in, she met me on the main floor and before we went upstairs, she offered me some hot tea. We went upstairs and there was a nice waiting area. We went into the treatment room and it was inviting and tastefully decorated. The room was comfortable and welcoming, naturally lit. The music was calming and nice — perfect for relaxation (which is exactly what I wanted!).
Sakura provided a soft natural cotton waffle pattern gown that secured under the arms (like wrapping yourself in a towel when you get out of the shower). The bed was set to conform to a comfortable, natural position. It felt very cozy and warm with the cover and cotton sheets.
When she came back in the room, she rubbed moisturizer on my hands and then wrapped them inside these warm pockets (I don’t know what they looked like because my eyes were already closed and ready to relax — but whatever they were they were comfortable).
Then came the facial. She examined my skin under a light and determined what the best treatment for my skin was (which I like because honestly I am no expert on what my skin needs). All I can say is that there were heated towels, steam, various applications of moisturizers cleaners and exfoliators. She also did a big job of extraction (I have larger pores so blackheads find homes on my face readily). She pleasantly and much more tactfully called it «congestion» She also applied a vitamin c acid to aid in reducing the large pore appearance. She massaged my face and neck so nicely and thoroughly — it was very relaxing. She massaged all the way around my neck and then asked me to breathe in — I could smell a nice energizing eucalyptus scent. There was a scalp massage — ahhh! There was even an arm and hand massage. All I can say it was the most thorough facial I have ever had. After all of that, she asked if I wanted to do my brows. I look at them now and I think it was the best brow wax ever! They look so much better.
The best part is that I took a picture before so that I could see the difference after the facial. However, I didn’t even need to before picture. I could tell the difference without it. My husband said I looked ‘radiant’.
All I can say is that Sakura gave me the best facial I have ever had and I will definitely be returning and referring my friends here. I bought a gift certificate for another friend while I was there because I know that they will simply love getting this pampered treatment as a gift.

Well worth the drive — this is honestly the best facial I have ever had. I am used to Hollywood facial pampering, and this far exceeded anything I’ve had in the past. Sakura has an amazingly gentle personality, which is evident upon entering this skincare environment. I was greeted and brought into the facial room, where I was given a robe to slip into, and then a perfectly cozy, warm bed as a retreat from the cold winter weather outside. She first did a moisture mask on my hands, and wrapped them in warm heated, weighted bags, then assessed my face’s needs, and recommended several solutions to my dry winter skin. I told her to work her magic and do whatever she deemed necessary. She even suggested some cosmetic tings (eyelash tinting!) just for fun. 2 magical and relaxing hours later, after having my neck, head, arms, hands and face massaged, hydrated & relieved, I emerged from the facial room rejuvenated and gorgeous (to toot Sakura’s horn, not mine). The eyelash tint was a fun bonus, and the nuface microcurrent (which I’d never done before) instantly and visibly lifted my complexion. I cannot wait to go back to see her, and treat myself and my skin the way it deserves on a regular basis! (the ample free street parking was also a bonus, considering I’m used to inner city parking prices). Definitely worth it!!!

Love, love, LOVE this place. Sakura is very nice — friendly, informative and amazing at what she does. Her prices are reasonable and I love the variety of services. With her clinical background she offers much more than most estheticians I’ve seen. I leave every appointment feeling and looking great, and she has an awesome skincare and makeup line to keep me feeling that way. I would recommend her to anyone!
