Stopped in for some Indian food. As a local, I either go here or Akbar in Hermosa. I loved the atmosphere and the people are always very friendly. For me the saag paneer is among the best I have had in the area. The chicken tikka masala is outstanding too. Finished off my meal with Chai tea. A definite must if you are seeking Indian food.

Wasn’t overly impressed with what I ordered, but have to say this is one of the better places I’ve found in LA. I had the veggie korma with rice and garlic naan. It’s hard to find a balance with flavor — some places make sauce too salty or too bland — this was just right. I think my mistake was that I ordered my korma vegetarian, probably would’ve been better with chicken. Was at first annoyed that the rice was $ 6 but it also serves at least three people, so it’s a very generous portion. Naan was also huge and tasty.

I’ve been coming to Addi’s on and off for the last few years and have always enjoyed the food. I recently saw that Addi’s made eater’s list of «20 Essential Indian Restaurants in Los Angeles» so I was interested to give it another go around since I hadn’t been here in years. We came on a weekday night and the restaurant was about half full. We ordered the Bombay aloo pakoras and two dinners, chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. The pakoras were nice and spicy and went well with the sauces they gave(green and red — I don’t know what they are called). We would definitely order again. With the dinners came a bowl of lentils(dal makhani?), Raita, two pieces of naan and the dishes themselves. We were both hungry and this was an enormous amount of food. Together, with me leading the way we were able to finish one dish, about 25% of the rice, 50% of the naan, and 10% of everything else. It was A LOT of food. I ended up eating leftovers for two additional small meals in the next few days. Pro: service and food are great. Although it’s higher priced that it’s competitors in the area, you get a lot of food. Cons: it is a bit pricey considering other good Indian restaurants are in the area. All in all, we enjoyed it and would definitely go back. I would say this is a place we would come back to once a year.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner last week. After an exhausting day of moving and packing, we were pleasantly surprised to find such a great Indian restaurant near our hotel. We ordered the lamb tikka and the chicken saag dinners. Both were fantastic, the naan was fresh, and the mango lassi was delicious and not too sweet. We’re already planning our next visit to this place!

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I lived in Chicago and had some of the best there, and this is easily comparable. We occasionally come in and are served by a friendly and efficient staff, but we most of the time order out. We love their shrimp tikka masala, saag paneer, and chicken korma. All are so flavorful and delicious. We constantly crave Indian food from this place, so we order it once a week. Love their raita, love everything we’ve ever had. Try this place! You definitely won’t regret it.

Yuuuuuuummmmmm!!! Great Indian food, good flavors, big portions. Unfortunately they don’t serve the crunchy thin bread with two different chutneys before dinner like other places do and the ambiance is not the coziest because of the sterile looking tile floor. I’m giving it a 4 out of 5.

sorry this review is not about the food or the ambiance, instead about their service or lack there of. We got to the restaurant for a late lunch, around 2:15 pm and were refused seating, even though it says they are open till 2:30 pm. Their excuse was that the Kitchen shuts down at 2PM which sounded a bit strange to us. But it was worse the way the waitress/owner turned us away, it was plain rude. But, in a way it was good they sent us away, because we found another Indian place right next door(on Hawthorne, just a bit north of Torrance) that served us with a smile some freshly made home-style food(both North and South Indian).

OMG. Now I am extremely picky when it comes to Indian restaurants but this is by far THEBEST Indian food in the South Bay area. If you are planning to eat here, I would highly recommend a reservation as it is a small restaurant. They do accommodate groups, but I would say limit to 15 or so. I don’t even know where to begin with the food. They have a great selection of naan and other breads. Feeling adventurous? Try their chicken naan. Love spicy food? Try their mirchi kulcha! In terms of appetizers, love love love their Bombay pakoras. These are one of a kind and are spicy so beware. Their wings are also pretty darn delicious. In terms of entrees, my family’s personal favorite is the chicken tikka mehthi. The depth of flavor is amazing. Also great are their meat platters. Vegetarian? Do not worry! They have amazing saag, okra, ok. who am I kidding? It’s good all around. Try this place if you are ever floating around Torrance or Redondo Beach!

Make a reservation, it’s small and gets packed but well worth it. Try the chicken tikka marsala, shrimp vindaloo(spicy) garlic nan and the veggie samosas(w/mango chutney). Delicious food and great place for new beginners.

A friend and I were planning a get-together and I found this among the restaurants in the Redondo Beach area on Yahoo Maps. We were coming shortly after it opened(check the times, because they are closed in the afternoon), but I called ahead anyway. Glad I did, this place is popular and rightly so. We shared the Lamb Briyani(the waiter suggested that one order would be enough for two), the Channa Palak and a side of Garlic Naan. We were nicely full and each took something home, so the portions are more than ample. Service was excellent, food was superb. This friend and I often eat Indian cuisine, when we spend a day together, and this is the best we’ve found. Definitely recommend and do call ahead.

Good Food, nice service. Small restaurant though with limited seating. Chicken Tikka was great.

Small place, tables all squeezed together. It takes a while for them to come to the table to take your order. But, once your order is put in, the food arrives within a reasonable time. The food is average. So with that being said I think it’s a bit overpriced for Indian food. If it were better than average it would be worth it.

Came here looking for a decent Indian meal Saturday evening only to be told by our hostess that they only had one table available for my boyfriend and I but they needed it by a certain time. Are you kidding me? Our food would have taken up more than half of that time to be made and the rest we were suppose to rush and eat? I don’t think so… Other than that the location itself was really small, tables were too close to each other, hardly any lighting, overall not a good impression at all especially with our hostess’ comment.

Came here for dinner with a fairly large group. They were very accommodating. A friend recommended this place so decided it a try. The food was good but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. I think there are better Indian restaurants in the South Bay. Service was great.

A lovely restaurant with delicious food, Addi’s is really a a great place. Service is attentive. Food is plentiful(wish I had asked about the portions, we had WAY too much food). Leftovers enough for 3 – 4 more meals. Nice to hear Indian music in the background… of the Enigma, Deep Forest type — instrumental, pleasant music. Ambience is casual with a sophisticated edge, white tablecloths, linen napkins, sparkly wine glasses. I love details like this. After dinner we we were outside enjoying the fresh air when we were approached by a homeless guy. Nothing overwhelming or threatening, he just wanted a light, my guy gave him a couple cigs and all of our leftovers. He was thrilled. No biggie for us, but I can imagine it was a big deal for him. It’s the season. We were full and happy to do it. Great place. Of course we will be back.

The first time I tried Addi’s Tandoor, I knew I had found a very special place. Referred by one of my closest friends and coworkers, this place instantly became one of my top restaurants/favorite places in the South Bay. It’s a beautiful restaurant. It’s very clean, intimate and cozy; a perfect place to dine at for a special occasion. This is why I chose to celebrate my birthday here with my Unilocal friends. My good friend and coworker who first referred me here helped me choose a delicious variety of food for the my birthday celebration. The night started with fried papadum. It’s a traditional Indian appetizer of crispy lentil wafers. It came with a cilantro and jalapeño dip. Alongside with the appetizers, several of us had mango lassi drinks. It’s such a fruity, delicious drink. I love the cute presentation. It’s in tall glass with a little colorful umbrella. We also got chicken tikka salad. It’s probably one of the best salads I’ve ever had. On top of mixed organic greens were lots of tender chicken tikka strips. The mango and garlic dressing was a true winner that brought lots and lots of flavor to the salad. After the appetizer and salad, came the mixed tandoori plater with tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb sheek kabab and shrimp. Each piece in this platter was marinated in special spices and herbs. It’s a great plate full of flavorful variety. For the entrees we had chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and beef khorma. Each dish was so hearty and delicious. The chicken tikka masala had lots of tender chicken in the tomato and ginger sauce. The saag paneer was plentiful as well with lots of cottage cheese cubes sautéed with spinach and spices. The beek khorma had several chunks of beef in cashew nut. Each entrée was perfect with basmati rice and the nan and parantha bread that we had. For the platter and entrees we had the choice of mild, medium or spicy. We tried both the mild and spicy versions of the dishes and they were equal in quality and goodness! Everything was so delicious and the servings here were very generous. My friends and I were all so happy and full at the end of the meal. At the end I had a pleasant and sweet surprise when the waiters came out singing happy birthday with a carrot pudding topped with a gold candle. The carrot pudding was not only pretty with it’s rich red color and cherry on top, it was pleasing to the palate as well. It was a beautiful evening for me and my friends. Friendly and superb service, excellent tasting food with good portions and just an overall amazing experience. I’d like to thank the restaurant and my good friend and coworker for making my birthday so special. I also want to thank my Unilocal friends Jennifer N., Jody S. and her husband Shawn, Jamie A. and her husband Pablo, Josephine A., Yuri K., Antho L. and Mary Ann V. for celebrating my birthday with me at one of my favorite places. This place is truly special and I really wanted to write my 700th review about this place. I am so happy that I celebrated my birthday here and I know that I will be back here for many other occasions :).

We have come here numerous times over the last 2 decades. The food comes out HOT and their portions are plentiful! One of the nice things about this restaurant is this, just before your food is brought out, you get a warm plate set in front of you. Great idea to put hot food on a warm plate! :) Addi’s Tandoor is easy to drive right on by if you don’t know where it is, so be watchful. The parking is tight due to the Martial Arts place in the same center along with other businesses. Generally, you can find parking, you just may have to walk a little further. This restaurant is a very nice place for a cozy and intimate dinner. My husband and I came here sans children. Indian food is best shared in a group so you can enjoy a variety. For just the 2 of us, we get a meat entrée and a veggie entrée to share. Then, we end up eating it again the next day because there’s plenty leftover. I love the simple yet elegant decorations. They have a small display where you can see some Indian instruments like the Sitar and Tabla. Reservations are a good idea, especially for dinner. We have NEVER made a reservation and have not had a problem getting a table. We don’t usually plan ahead, we hop in the car and find something along our way. I always get a Mango Lassi at Indian Restaurants. I think they have the best Lassi! A lassi is a yogurt milkshake, which doesn’t seem appealing, but when it has mango in it, it is yummy! On this evening, we ordered the Mixed Tandoori Plate, Rogan Josh, and the Mattar Paneer. We also had Naan, a little cup of dal, and a small bowl of rice. All of it was excellent! The meats on the tandoori plate were tender & moist! We were asked how spicy we wanted our food, so we said, «As spicy as you can make it». It came out medium… after all the times we’ve been here, they don’t trust that we can handle it. It had been a while since we’d been here, so they probably didn’t even remember us, or they have new waiters. The Rogan Josh is a lamb curry cooked in the traditional Kashmiri style and the meat is super tender, not even chewy. The mattar paneer is peas and homemade cottage cheese cubes in a mild curry sauce and is my all time favorite! It is so scrumptious! Now, if they could coordinate their food and waiter service, they’d have gotten 5 stars from me! I don’t know if he didn’t want to bother us or if he just liked standing in the distance and watching. My husband’s water glass was empty for most of the meal and the waiter came by with the pitcher to refill as we were ready to settle the bill. A little late. From their website — * All our dishes are free of preservatives, MSG and animal fats. We specialize in a low-fat and low cholesterol cuisine.* This was posted under the vegetarian section, so I think it only applies to it. But being preservative &MSG free could apply to the other dishes also. It is unclear. The prices here are probably comparable to other Indian Restaurants in the South Bay. With that being said, it is still pricey. If we only got ONE Dinner with a meat entrée & a mango lassi, it would have cost about $ 27.50, give or take a few cents and not including a tip. For the food, I would definitely come back! And we have, again and again!
