Specializing in homemade soups made fresh daily, including chili and beans. the real chili lover the granddaddy of all chilies” Big John’s Texas Chili”, no beans of course. Made the old fashion way and not served until it’s aged for a day.
NOW IT IS TIME FOR A NEW LOOK AND A NEW LOCATION
Big John sold the little coffee shop in El Segundo in 2005. Spending most of his time with his Granddaughter, Jordan
Now that Jordan is 5 and has started school, Big John decided to open another Café.
In true Big John fashion, he has again brought his great home style cooking back to the So. bay.
Meet the Business Owner
Big J.
Business Owner
I have been in the south bay all my life. I have been very lucky to have raised my two daughters Christine and Kimberly as a single parent. Currently i am raising my Granddaughter Jordan, once again I have been blessed.
I started cooking with my Grandmother and my Mother. Helping make meals for all kinds of events and parties. In 1972 I started cooking at a café in North Inglewood.
For many years I had various businesses in the automotive industry
but always had a desire to return to cooking. In 1997 I acquired The Village Coffee Shop in El Segundo. With in only a few weeks of taking over this little café, and we were off and running. I again was blessed by the great people that frequented my café. In some cases we had 3rd and 4th generations coming in. In 2004 I sold the little café to spend my time with my Granddaughter. After a couple of years, and Jordan entering Kinder garden this last September. It was time to find another café. So here we are in North Redondo.
