I truly love this place. Have been tanning since I was 16 and there is no salon like this one. Kudos to Meghan for starting my membership back up. You were amazing and I appreciated you making me feel so welcomed. You are a class act Meghan and so is this establishment.

I am giving my experience at Cop-​A-​Tan 5 stars when it comes to customer service. I work with people on a daily basis and I am extremely impressed by this company. I came in and was immediately greeted by the gentleman standing at the front desk. He had a big smile. I knew from the the very beginning it was going to be a pleasant experience. He introduced himself right away and asked my name. I later found out he was the manager there his name was Kyle. He conducted himself in such a professional manner explaining the process of tanning, melanin, UVA, UVB, how your skin reacts etc, then he gave me an extensive tour of the facility, different beds and levels. Nothing was left out of my experience. He offered Tanning lotions and Cop-​A-​Tans signature energy drinks for purchase which were nice little extras. Most importantly there was no pressure to buy and he asked questions about my skin and how it reacts to the sun so I wouldn’t burn. He kept my needs first which I really appreciated. I have been to a few different tanning salons in the area and none of them have been as efficient as this. I felt cared for. I also appreciated that the beds are always clean, they provide the protective eyewear at no additional charge and they always have complimentary andes mints and candy at the front which is kind of a nice little bonus. Some tanning salons charge you to purchase your own eyewear. This place is extremely clean which is very important to me and Kyle is always very kind and helpful. I interacted with one other staff member who was a female and was also very polite. As a whole this place is definitely 5 stars in my book! :)

I’m a complete newbie at tanning, but Nikki (the front desk worker) was amazing! I have some events this weekend I didn’t want to look ghostly for, and she was a pro at answering all my questions. Thank you!

The parking is normally tough to get in, but it has the friendliest staff in all locations. the spray tan make me look amazing which helps in my business, romance and friendships. I would give this salon a top rating.

BEWARE!: Employees lure customer into signing a monthly service agreement, verbally lying about total fees and cancellation policy. First time in my life I have been forced to file a complaint about a business. They deliberately lie to their customers about their pricing and bait them into signing a monthly contract that goes beyond the terms of what the customer asks for. Once the customer takes the employees’ word at face value and signs the contract without reading the small print, he is legally hooked into paying several months’ of fees for which he will not be using the service. I visited the Redondo Beach location on ⁶⁄₁₉ and inquired about their tanning packages. I clearly explained I was going out of the country starting July, therefore I only needed a short term package of 5 – 7 sessions to be used in June. The employee at the desk told me they have a «special» right now that would make it cheaper for me to get a 2 month membership for $ 83. Again I told her I don’t need the service for 2 months. She said that will be ok, I just need to cancel the membership within the next 2 months TO NOT INCUR ANY MORE CHARGES. I asked again «I’m wary of membership deals, what’s the catch?». She laughed and said the catch is that I have to come to the office and cancel in person. That seemed strange to me, but I said «ok I’ll be back in town beginning of August, can I cancel then?», she said yes that is still within two months. What she failed to tell me is that the cancellation contract apparantly indicates that when you cancel, your membership will still be effective for the rest of the calendar month PLUS another 30 days. So when I told her I intended to come and sign the cancellation in first week of August, she should have told me this would require me to pay an additional $ 21 for August and another $ 21 for September beyond the $ 83 she was telling me and which I was agreeing to. I had explicitly stated that I had no intention of using the service anytime after June. Why would I want to pay for July-​August-​September when I told her I won’t be using the service after June? I signed the membership agreement in good faith without reading all the small print because I believed I had already asked about the cancellation policy and they had given me honest answers. It did not occur to me that they deliberately lie to their customers when the contract states something else, and once you sign that paper their response will be «gotcha, you’re legally bound now!». This is the most blatant case of bait and switch and deliberately misleading the customer to weasel more money out of them for services they stated they don’t need. I only used the service in June, total of 5 or 6 times. In July I was out of the country as I had told them. I went back the first weekend of August, handed a form and told to sign on the blank to cancel. I did not notice until mid-​Sep that my credit card had been billed two more times in August and September. I went back to the office and spoke to the employee who had lured me into signing. I reminded her of our conversation, how I had told her I wasn’t going to use the service beyond June and asked why she had not told me the membership agreement would force me to pay another $ 41.80 for something I didn’t want or need. She was unfriendly and said she always explains the cancellation terms clearly. Well her explanation clearly left out the part where I would be charged another $ 41.80 when I told her I intended to cancel 1^st weekend of August because that’s the earliest I can go back to their office. When I spoke to the manager, he was rude and unapolegetic and said I am legally bound because I signed a contract and there’s nothing he can or will do. I understand a signed contract is legally binding but verbally lying to the customer, selling them something they don’t need, leaving out info about additional charges, and abusing their good faith is also unethical and horrible business practice.

This is mostly a customer service review. I have repeatedly had great customer service from one of the girls here… Jackie. She is always pleasant and cheerful and actually takes the time to go over the different tanning options (and other services), instead of just pushing the best or most expensive packages, I don’t feel rushed or like she’s just trying to make a sale. There’s obviously other tanning salons in the area that are nice as well, but I keep going here… because of the personal attention! Thanks Jackie ;-)

Cop a Tan is by far the best tanning salon around South Bay. I have tried many and they are superior. Part of their success is directly attributed to their employees. By far there BEST is Jackie. She is a true pleasure and makes the experience all that much better! They are lucky to have her!

I love cop-​a-​tan!!! I come in about once every week and a half to tan and then get a mystic/​spray tan. I have consistent results which keeps me coming back! Jackie has impeccable customer service and has also been a reason why I continue my

My cousin and I started going to Cop a tan in June and had the best experience from day 1!!! Julie was the friendliest and most knowledgable employee! Everyday we walk in we are greeted with our name and pleasant conversation! I’ve been tanning for 15 years and I’ve never had a better experience!!! Best tanning salon in the Southbay!!! I’d recommend it to anyone!

Today was my first time ever going to a tanning salon. I was treated very sweetly by Kara, she was such a sweetheart with answering all my questions! I had a really great first time, and I’m looking forward to my future visits!

Hi. My name is Judith. I love Cop-​A-​Tan; especially the ladies that work there (Megan, the Manager and Jackie)! It is clean, I get a great tan and it is reasonable. Treat: a chocolate on your towel. I have the lowest monthly package $ 20.90 a month. There is an initial sign up; however, you are given free upgrades. I tried the higher beds and used their hydration station. The hydration station is great! A 30-​minute steam. It softens your skin and aids in weight loss. Go to Cop-​A-​Tan and Enjoy!

I have been coming here for a long time and a day :) a while back I considered going to another tanning place nearby because I know the owners. But I figured I would finish up my package and be done with cop a tan. It was no longer the same place. Did not seem like they cared. They always had lazy people that did not know how to answer any question I had to drive to another location to talk to a manager a while back. Then JACKIE came into the picture she is a savior for this location. She sells sells sells every time I go in shes selling either products or packages which I’m sure is great for the owners of cop a tan. You would think someone like that would be pushy. But not at all she customizes things to fit your needs she knows everything about tanning the products what works best and why. She’s really helpful caring always has a smile on her face. She acts like an owner it’s hard to find employees that actually care this is why I’m writing this so that the owners know what a gem of an employee she is. She gained back my business for as long as she is there. She makes every client feel like a rock star. Thank you Jackie keep up the good work.

This place is great! Friendly, helpful staff and it is super clean. Their monthly membership rates are very reasonable and they have great rates if you just need to get tan for a special occasion. I have tried other places because they were closer but always come back to Cop A Tan!

I have been going to Cop-​A-​Tan for the last ten years. I really like the place because there is plenty of parking and I can get a Mystic Tan without an appointment. The only down side is they change their «point system» constantly. So, you’re never really sure how many tans you’re going to get. Good place to go, with reasonable prices.

Cop A Tan has terrible customer service ! The management is no help i was told that my payment was already processed ! Really so what the management made it sound like they had no way of returning money ! But they have had no problem collecting $ 65.00 out of my account every month for a few years now
I have been trying to cancel my subscription now for over a month! They have moved location on me twice now with no warning ! The first time i even lost lotion ! I talked with management on the phone and they were absolutely worthless .The company has one of the poorest customer service i have came in contact with in a long time! It is sad when a company could careless that they are losing a customer who has paid every month for a few years. All i got was that you signed the agreement ! I I had just upped my subscription and at that time the girl could have said that in a few weeks our location will be changes !!!
Be careful you may walk in one day and they will just be gone !

Cop-​A-​Tan has definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff is always so friendly and never push to sell you something new. You can count on great service, a smile and a friendly atmosphere at this location! I haven’t checked out the others, but if it is anything like this one, you will love it also!

I have a been a Le Beach Club client for over 15 years. When the Redondo Beach location closed a year ago they merged their clients with Cop A Tan. Its an ok facility, the staff can be rather clueless at times. Today was the final straw when I walked in after 2 months of not being there and learned that my account was not properly placed on freeze status for the duration that I requested… resulting in a balance due of $ 64. This freeze was placed on 10÷24÷12 for the months of November & December. The girl that had helped me was overwhelmed that day with the phones and walk-​in and she was trying to complete my paperwork but kept getting interrupted. She suggested I sign the paperwork and said it would be completed when I was finished with my session. After tanning, she still had customers and I had received a call that I needed to take which would require me to leave.
My mistake was in trusting that it would be done correctly. After waiting, 10 minutes while the Mgr (Mike) tried to locate my paperwork, the paperwork had only been noted for a November freeze. My request was for both November & December. He could clearly see that I had not been there in over 2 months. Even with the grave error that was made on his staff’s behalf he insisted on charging me.
I let him know I was very displeased and inquired if there were any charges that I would incur for cancelling my contract. In NO way did he try to make it right. I let him know that I have been a customer for over 15 years and he basically let me know that he would be more than happy to cancel my membership. They do NOT value their customers nor are they interested in keeping them. Be very cautious when signing any contracts with them and re-​look over everything. There are far better facilities out there and ones that will value a long term client. It is NOT Cop A Tan!!!

Super friendly staff and clean facilities! Good price as far as tanning salons go and there hasn’t been a wait in the two times I’ve been so far. They have a $ 19/​month unlimited deal for their standard bed but I signed up to try the first week unlimited $ 25 and you can use any bed. So far I’ve tried the Diamond bed which is super fast, comfortable and well ventilated and the stand-​up. I’ve always wanted to try a stand-​up (good for germaphobes who don’t want to lie down in a bed) and it just seems like a cool spaceship-​like experience. I danced the whole time I was in there! It was well ventilated with fans above and below; although I don’t recommend this if you’re claustrophobic (but I’m sure claustrophobics don’t go in tanning beds anyways so that’s ok). Definitely worth checking out!
