Dipped Nails

Bummed about this place because Phi does a good job! Let me just make the note that the 3 times I went here, there was only ever a max of 2 other people working there. Two of the times it was just Phi and one other lady to do pedicures. The first two times I went, made an appointment, and still had to wait 30 – 35 minutes to be seen. If you don’t mind being the salon for 2+ hours then you may not be bothered by it. The third time I made an appointment, I came 10 minutes late knowing that she’d be late. Well, she wasn’t even there. I waited 15 minutes and the lady there called her and then let me know Phi would be back in half an hour. Pretty unacceptable to have someone wait an hour after their appointment for her to show up. Then Phi calls back the shop to talk to me and says traffic is bad, she’s about 40 minutes away. All in all, I made an appointment for 5, and wasn’t going to be seen until almost 6:30. She is a nice lady and does a great job, but being at the nail salon for 4 hours on a Friday night (if I had waited for her) is not my idea of fun.

The absolute BEST! Phi puts so much work into everything she does. The salon is very clean and inviting, and Phi herself is so friendly and accommodating! She wants to make sure your nails are perfect, and most of all that YOU’RE satisfied with them! This will definitely be my new go-​to nail salon!

This is one exceptional Nail Spa/​Salon. I’ve been to many, and usually feel rushed or short changed when there are other customers waiting. This place, however, is the complete opposite of that. Phi and her team are ridiculously attentive to detail and ALWAYS do a great job! They aren’t trying to gauge me for every little thing I want done either. I have found my nail lady!!!

I’ve been here three times so far. The first time was when the entire building was brand new and it was under different management, I think. My husband had a Group-​on and it was nice then.
I’m not much of a nail person, so fast forward a few years and I come with my daughter a few weeks ago as well as today. I got a gel mani and pedi. My daughter got a mani/​pedi with designs. We both are very happy. My shy daughter did great here and I love how she adores her nails.

I have been going to Phi for over 5 years now. She moved from Hawthorne to Redondo a little over a year ago so any negative post about Dipped before that shouldn’t relate to Phi. I followed her even though she is further from me now.
Let me tell ya, Phi is a perfectionist. I’m very particular and picky about my pedicures. She will not let you leave until SHE is satisfied with her work. Couple times, she erased and did my toes/​nails all over because SHE wasn’t satisifed. She really has a passion for her line of work. She always told me I had beautiful feet and was upset when she saw scabs and bruises on them (got stepped on). She was more upset than I was which I thought was cute and hilarious. You’ll realize the «half-​ass» work most salons do once you experience Phi and her work. My piggies always leave feeling fresh, clean, and polished. She is also sweet and very kind.

Great little spot. Only $ 35 for mani pedi with nail art. Young Jenni is very meticulous Nancy the owner does excellent nail art. Massages are horrible, but the finished nails are great This is my #3 favorite place to go. It is closer to my house than my # 1 and 2, so I have been a few times now.

After reading the reviews, I decided to check them out. Weeks later and I’ve been three times already :) I love this place! Phi is honestly a sweet heart and works very hard to produce perfection! She will go the extra mile without hesitation. Today I called in frantically to see if she could squeeze me in, because I was in the middle of a manicure elsewhere and it was so bad I stopped midway and called Good Ol Phi! Not only did she do a wonder repair job, she made the nail design even better than j previously imagined. And for a fraction of the price! Phi saved the day :) and I’m never going go anywhere else !

These gals and guys are fantastic, they do good work and are meticulous about the details. It’s not the fastest manicure I’ve ever had, but the quality really is worth it – you won’t be disappointed.
Nice clean salon, with name brand polishes, hot lotion and hot towels for your mani/​pedi. The spa chairs are super comfy too. It feels downright indulgent, but the prices are comparable to any local corner nail shop, if not slightly *less* expensive.
Also! If you set an appointment, or call ahead, they seem perfectly willing to stay open late! I came in at about 6:15 for a full set and mani/​pedi, which is kinda late when they close at 7:00 — they still took their time and a great job. I love it when places are flexible and don’t rush you out the door.

So many great reviews on here. Every time I try a new nail salon, I always leave wishing I had just gone to the place I always go. No one can beat them. However, they weren’t open, and I desperately needed a pedicure.
They were very nice, but the quality of the pedicure was poor. Firstly, if I’m paying extra for a callus remover, that sh** better be removed. Hence, its name, C A L L U S R E M O V E R. I had to ask her 4 times to get certain areas that were still rough.
Also, the polish job was done very sloppy. I didn’t even bother bringing it up because I felt like such a nag at that point and wanted to get out of there.
I will stay with my home base salon from now on. They give the best massages too and NEVER ask if you want to pay for extra massage. They just give it to you. They earn a fatty tip from being genuine. I bet you wish you knew where it is :)))

Phi did a great job with my nails. I have never been so happy with my nails. Thank you so much I would highly recommend.

When it comes to nail salons, I am hard to please. I want a low price first (under $ 20 for a pedicure), and then quality, but I’m not willing to pay a lot for it. In fact, I would rather pay less for lackluster service… and yet I am not willing to stick my feet in a plastic bucket in order to save $ 5.
Happy to say I found Dipped Nails, where I got excellent quality AND a very affordable price. I called ahead and they said the spa pedicure was only $ 18(!). Plus, you get a 10% discount with your Unilocal check-​in. Around $ 16 for a pedicure in South Bay LA… or Southern California… unheard of!
I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait 15 minutes as the 3 stylists were all busy with guests. The massage pedicure chairs were clean and new (the business has been open 10 months according to the owner, Phi, who warmly greeted me and chatted with me on occasion). They line the foot bath with a new plastic liner for each customer which is a great touch and not something I normally expect.
The number one thing for me at nail salons is the way they shape your toe nails. Most of the cheaper salons I have been to take a lot of time shaping your toe nails with manual tools but they do not round the edges. Here, my nail stylist Kim, had an electric filer and she rounded the edges to get that nice smooth shape. I picked an OPI color — I always get OPI which lasts a month for me without chipping — and it was super opaque. Kim’s end result was a pedicure that looked like gel quality, wow! One of the best pedicures I have ever gotten.
I had only planned to get a pedicure but then due to the outstanding job I asked if I could also get a manicure. I ended up being in the salon for almost two hours on a Saturday afternoon and my hands and feet look fantastic — almost like gels! Incredibly, they did not try to upsell me on anything — they didn’t even pressure me into getting the manicure. Nail salons are notorious for upselling their customers.
The total price was $ 30 for both mani and pedi, plus 10% off with my Unilocal discount. I didn’t have cash (sniff) so it was $ 1 to use my credit card.
I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

They do a good job but I found this nail place to be extremely unprofessional. I was going to a wedding on a Saturday and I had called the day of to see if there were any openings. They said they had an opening at 1:30, which would’ve been enough time to get a mani and pedi and to have some time to sit and let the nail polish dry.
I happened to get to the salon really early and I just thought I could sit and wait until my appointment or if they could, they could get started on me earlier. They say me down in the spa pedicure around 1:20ish which was nice but I sat there for a full half hour before they even started on me. To make matters worse, customers who had come in after my appointment time were worked on before me.
I’m only giving this place a star for the decent pedicure. I actually told them to not give me a manicure because I didn’t want to risk being late to the wedding since it was an hour away and I had to do my makeup and hair.

I really loved my experience here, and I think it’s safe to say that I found my new nail place!
I don’t get my nails done that often, as I like to change the polish color frequently, so typically I do them myself. However, I was about to leave for Europe for a while for my honeymoon and I really wanted to have a fab manicure that wouldn’t chip and would last through the trip. I jumped on Unilocal,and it directed me here.
About $ 30 got me a gel mani with glitter art that they copied expertly off Pinterest just for me. Gel manis usually run much higher, especially in the South Bay, so you can imagine my excitement at the price. Their business is super clean, and they’re very friendly. I called ahead, but when I went they were pretty empty. I think they’re still getting their name out, but I’d say it’s one of nails best kept secrets!

I found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. phi has been doing my manicures the last couple times and I really appreciate the time and effort she puts into my nails to make sure I am satisfied. everyone here is friendly and they don’t ever try to rush you. I definitely recommend this place.

Came in after a recommendation from a friend. I was not disappointed. The facility was clean and I was greeted right away as I walked in. I had a picture of the manicure that I wanted done on my phone, showed it to the lady, and she got to work. She did a great job on my gels and afterwards I had another lady (Phi, I believe is her name) paint the designs to finish off my nails. They both did a remarkable job and I will be returning :)

Finally, a nail salon I’m happy to review. They don’t rush you & or try to up sell you. Great massage chairs that work! They are very clean, using plastic liners for the foot wash tubs & use Simple Green to clean the chairs, tubs with. I like that since Simple Green is non-​toxic, bio-​degradable & smells good. JENNY did my toes & PHI (owner) did my nails– great team!
They have been in business @ this location for 3 months. Like the ambience overall.

Got a gel mani and regular pedi here. Absolutely loved both ladies that did the work. Phi and Jenny (hope I’m remembering correctly) were both extremely sweet and lovely. The were very thorough and attentive with my nails. My cuticles are rocking! I appreciate how gentle they are when trimming my cuticles. I’ve definitely had people before that hurt as they pushed the cuticle back. Jenny did a perfect job on the pedicure, and Phi did a phenomenal job on the gel manicure. She even added gold glitter (with a little paintbrush) just like I asked for. Yes, it took about an hour and half but it was worth every minute. I absolutely would rather spend a little extra time to have their beautiful work. Thanks Phi you’re the best! You just won a customer for life whenever I’m in town.

New to the area, I decided to give this nail shop a try.
As I walked in, I was immediately and kindly greeted by a lady who later turned out to be the owner of this newly remodeled location, she was friendly and asked what she could do for me.
I was there for a no-​chip manicure and the only one at the salon beside Tuan, the employee who did my nails (and the owner). I did not have time to set up an appointment but Tuan mentioned it wasn’t necessary. He stated that it was recommended especially during the weekends.
Tuan was amazing! We had tons to speak about, almost felt like I’ve known the guy for years. Ha. He was patient and suggestive as I can have sort of a decision-​making problem when it comes to choosing a color. Who doesn’t?
Tuan was clean and very attentive to detail. He even suggested some meditation tips after he awesomely massaged my hand/​wrist and felt tension. Such a down to earth guy who actually held a full conversation without hesitation or need for that «awkward-​stare-​into-​space-​while-​you-​get-​your-​nails-​done-​feeling».
The price I ended up paying was $ 26 such a steal for a job well done. I was given a 20% discount just for checking in through Unilocal.Oh! And Tuan hooked me up with their wi-​fi there since my iphone was acting up while I attempted to check-​in.
Overall, I would deff return. The customer service was awesome!
The cleanliness of this salon was immaculate and I couldn’t have for a better experience!
