I never posted a review on Unilocal before but Ellis is worth my review plus some! With my home purchase recently, Ellis was extremely helpful from my initial prospecting through closing escrow. His expertise in the real estate market provided me a great sense of trust knowing his knowledge, recommendations and advice were all in harmony for my good will. He was quick to answer any questions along the way and I appreciate his care to detail. Without hesitation, I would strongly suggest Ellis for any real estate needs — he is 100% professional and his familiarity with the market is top notch.

This review is way overdue. In today’s booming real estate market, it does not take a lot to be a real estate agent, even one who produces. I have met so many agents who lack market knowledge, do the minimal, and offer very little value to client. However, it takes a great deal to be a true professional and it pays to work with a true professional. Ellis is one.
I met Ellis in December 2014 after I had frustrating experience working with a couple of other agents who failed to help me secure the properties I wanted. Ellis took the time to understand my purchase criteria and within a week helped me secure a town house in Manhattan Beach. It turned out to be an excellent buy.
I again called for Ellis’s help in Feb, 2016 to bid on a property in North Hollywood. Ellis does not know the North Hollywood market well, however, he immediately took the initiative to call the seller’s agent, did his research on the properties and provided me with a number of keen observations. We ended up not buying the second property and it was the right decision.
In both situations, Ellis proved to be a quintessential professional and one of very best agents I have ever worked with. He is extremely knowledgeable about the South Bay real estate market: demand and supply, changing market conditions, and factors that impact the fair market value of the properties. Even more impressive is his ability to navigate in uncertain situations and identify unique opportunities. He takes the initiative to gain critical information to provide valuable input in the decision making process. He is very dependable, responsive and client oriented. You could always count on him to give objective, balanced opinions and sound advice based on years of experience. He has built an excellent network and collaborates well with agents on the other side of the bargaining table. He is also an excellent negotiator focusing on win-​win solutions. I would absolutely work with Ellis again and would highly recommend him.

I wish I had more time than a few moments to say all the ways Ellis has made my home purchase as smooth as possible, despite all the bumps that inexplicably popped up. Ellis has been at every turn, being my advocate and getting things done even when I didn’t think it were possible. Furthermore, I have relied on him to introduce me to the area. He has been so helpful with providing recommendations for the day-​to-​day and for a first-​time homeowner — so many things that one doesn’t even think of when owning a condo! We worked with Ellis on a long-​distance purchase of a home, moving from San Diego to Los Angeles. Ellis was a joy to work with from his patience scheduling showings based on our limited schedules, and his thoroughness/​expertise in home sale and purchases. More importantly, he is honest and fair. If it’s not the right decision for you, he’ll tell you even if it means more work for him and puts his client interest first. We hit a complication towards the end of our home purchase completely due to the sellers of the home. Ellis went out of his way to do what he could to better the situation even though it was not his role or responsibility. Ellis knows that doing right for the client always pays off in the end.

Ellis was exactly what we needed in a real estate agent. As first time home buyers we had a ton of questions about every part of the process. Ellis went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything from A to Z. He first day he started off by showing us ten different homes. Even though he knew that some of these homes were not what we were looking for, he wanted to make sure that we had a full grasp of all the different options available in the South Bay. as well as the associated price differences (tall and skinny, detached, etc). Once we narrowed down the kind of home we were looking for, Ellis was great at sending us new home listings the second they became available. We were able to see a house, discuss all of its pros/​cons, and submit an offer before many people had even looked at it. Ellis will be as involved as you need him to be in the home buying process. I was amazed at how quickly Ellis answered my questions almost any time of the day (I’m still wondering if he ever sleeps). He also has an uncanny ability to evaluate exactly what a given house is worth and what the winning bid is likely to be (which comes in very handy when deciding how much you want to offer). At the same time, he will never push you to buy a certain house just because it looks good on paper. He knows that the decision ultimately comes down to you. You really have to love the home that you’re buying. Ellis has the perfect blend of experience, charisma and class that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else.

We found Ellis probably like a lot of potential home buyers are going to discover him. He was the best rated and reviewed agent on zillow. We first contacted him when we were in Florida. Eventhough we weren’t even in town yet, he was fast and responsive. After briefly describing our situation of what we are looking for over the email, we called him. As a first time home buyer, i had a lot of questions and wanted to be double sure i get the best deal possible despite my lack of experience in real estate. He gave us overall information about the area of my interest and narrowed downed potential list for us. He is very knowledgeable and available when you need him. Most importantly, once you start working with him, you will start to realize that he really genuinely wants the best for the client and does more than his required duty as an agent to help you out. While i was initially little cautious to trust him 100 percent, i’ve grown to trust him after seeing on multiple occasions that he doesn’t mind getting assertive and sometimes almost offensive to fight on your behalf to get you a better deal. He know the art of negotiating and realizes when to be assertive and when to play safe. It is truly a blessing to have an agent like him to fight for you and do all the heavy lifting for you to make home purchasing experience as painless as possible.

I highly recommend Ellis! As first time buyers, the home buying process can be pretty daunting, but Ellis guided us through it swiftly and with great expertise. He guided us through the most minute details and was honest with us and gave his best recommendations based on prior experience. He’s probably the friendliest realtor you’ll meet.
To top it all off, we were in a remote international location when our offer was accepted, and he was able to brainstorm methods to help us deliver our funds to escrow. To those buying, I definitely don’t recommend putting in an offer right before you go out of the country, but we were very impressed by the way Ellis handled the situation! We’re very pleased with Ellis and our new home!

We sold our Redondo Beach house last week and still can’t believe how smoothly everything went from 400 miles away. It was important to have a dependable agent who is an area expert to sell the house from a different town, and we feel so lucky to have had Ellis Posner as our listing agent.
I found Ellis after weeks of tracking sales in Golden Hills area. With the address alone, he already knew our house– the layout, the street, age of plumbing, potential pest issues, and the dated wall texture (!) and even gave us tips on how to instruct the painters to improve the appearance! He was attentive and clear in communication and always left the final decisions up to us. There was no question or request too small or too embarrassing, which speaks volumes about how we got to trust him in a short time.
Ellis also works with a top-​notch professional staff. The web site and photographs were beautiful, highlighting the positives. He arranged to have the house cleaned, kept in touch with our home stager, and went above and beyond to keep tabs on the house while it sat vacant.
Another important step that made this sale successful was pricing the house right from the get-​go. We were nervous about setting the price on the low side but trusted Ellis’s instinct. And boy, it paid off. We had multiple offers above asking even before the first open house. Ellis really shines during this process because he understands the psychology of the buyers as well as the needs of the sellers. He also checked the finances of the offers thoroughly to avoid unpleasant surprises down the line. With his guidance, we took the best offer just one week after MLS listing. I suspect that as one of the top agents in the area, Ellis wants to get his clients top dollars for his own pride and reputation. I just hope we find someone half as good as him for our next house.

A year ago, Ellis helped me buy my first home. One year and one month later, he helped me sell that very same home! I was worried that I would lose sale on the short turnaround, but through some combination of luck, timing, and Ellis’ network, there was a buyer before my house was even on the market.
It seemed too good to be true and when Ellis dug into it further, he found that there were two downstream sale contingencies that had to close before my buyers would be able to buy my house. The transaction seemed risky, but Ellis mitigated the risk by keeping a close eye on contingency periods, following up with the other agents, and even negotiating more favorable terms for me as a result.
Along the way, Ellis gave me sound advice and was always available for questions. He even helped make sure the house appraised at full value – no easy feat given the rising prices in Golden Hills. Ellis turned a complicated transaction into a contract that I was comfortable with and in the end, netted me a buyer that offered $ 40k over listing. If I could, I would bring Ellis to San Francisco with me to help me with the purchase of my next home. With so much information on the internet, I’m so glad that my research led me to the right one.

Mr. Ellis Posner ia a realtor par excellence, in our humble opinion. As a married couple, we cannot adequately express our gratitude for a job well done, in the sale of our house. It all started when we called Ellis, after having searched the web for a local realtor with experience not only in conventional home sales, but also experience and connections with local real estate investors and home builders. This is because we needed a fairly quick, expedient sale of our house, in order to buy a new house. Also, our new home had yet to be built, so we wanted to sell to a buyer that would let us stay, rent or lease our house back to us for a few months. Ellis started the process immediately and two weeks later we were talking about meeting the people who were interested in buying our house — Ellis had quickly found the right buyer! At the outset, he had set a purchase price that was just right, taking into account the many factors that need to be folded into the price. The entire process, following finding the right buyer, also went very smoothly, thanks to Ellis. Overall, Mr. Posner was very professional and friendly in the conduct of business, and he has the connections and technical know-​how to produce excellent results. The difference between working with Ellis and my previous agent is night and day. Not only is Ellis very knowledgeable and experienced, he freely shares that wisdom without hesitation. Nothing is more frustrating than asking a fundamental question about the deal and getting a shrug from your agent. There were no shrugs from Ellis.
