Dave Gold really knows his mold! Did you know that you and I can be mold inspectors after taking a few days of courses? Would you want me inspecting your house for mold? Probably not. So call Dave Gold instead. He’s had extensive training and is actually a certified industrial hygienist. We had a quote from a mold remediation company that didn’t feel quite right, so we called him since he’s an independent inspector (he doesn’t do the repairs, no conflict of interest). Dave was definitely able to tell us what was going on without the fear mongering of some other companies.

Dave is very knowledgeable and expert in his field. He is also a great communicator. We needed a second opinion after receiving an air samples report from an incompetent inspector. We waited for 5 days and spent $ 300 for a piece of paper with only numbers, no conclusion or suggestion on whether the situation was mild, or if the place need to be vacant or what kind of treatment need to be done. It was impossible for us to reach the inspector. After talking to PRC mold remediation company we got referral for Dave. I had to call him on Sunday around 9pm, not only he answered my question, reviewed the report, pointed out some red flag places, he spent time to explain what might be the cause, how he could help me. He showed up next day on exact scheduled time 10am, explained everything we need to know about mold, how to avoid in the future. We basically had a crash lesson on mold. He spend about 1 hour inside the house, took 3 samples and send them to a local lab. We got a call from Dave while he was driving to another job site at 2:30pm that the result came clean. Unbelievable service and professionalism. We couldn’t be happier with Dave’s expertize. Whether you are a landlord or tenant, if you need an expert to guide you through that difficult situation, Dave is the person you should talk to.

Mold can be gross. Mold can be scary. Dave was extremely helpful in examining and explaining what we were dealing with. He made it very simple as to how to remedy the situation and be done with it. I would def use him again.

Update to my review from last March. I returned to my townhouse after being gone from Feb 2014 to July 1014 in Seattle seeing an Infectious Disease Specialist to help me get my health back as my body was shutting down basically. I felt great when I left for home and on vacation before we got home, and by August was so sick I could not get out of bed again. I left again and moved in with relatives and now have done extensive testing for the past few months which should have been done by the first person I hired David Gold. And my place is filled with MANY types of mold, tested by an expert. Message me if you want his info I am happy to give it to you. When David came there was plenty of visible mold all over my bathroom ceiling and cupboards and stains on our upstairs living room ceiling. He said that was «normal». There is now black oozing mold dripping down my walls and on the glass of picture frames on the wall… The contractor opened up the walls and they are filled with mold due to a structural issue where every time it rained over the past 30 years or so the rain stayed in the wall and caused severe water damage and growth of many molds including the black mold. We also had a drainage pipe leak below us in September of this year which made me so much sicker I had to leave the next day, and it turned out most of the original pipes in that OLD building were leaking according to the plumber and my own eyes, plus the landlady showed it to me while kind of apologizing. My body tested positive for black mold as well (Mycotoxins in my body an expensive but well respected lab and test). And I and my child both tested positive and highly allergic to every dangerous mold that came out high in my home test. We did scratch testing for the allergies, and now I have Asthma. I Haven’t tested my husband yet but that will be next. Yes, we live 9 blocks from the beach but this is a nice area, a nice building and the mold in that place is NOT normal.
David Gold sent me an email after my first review offering to come back and re-​do his testing or assessment (I have the copy still) for no extra charge if I took off my «incorrect» review. My only regret is that I did not have a real expert test my home sooner and lived in it even longer not knowing the damage it was doing to our health, as this so called «expert» told me we were fine and to «ventilate more». Save your money unless you are a landlord or building owner who doesn’t want to maintain your building or keep your tenants safe and healthy. I would love to be able to post pictures on here. Not sure if that can be done. Mr Gold I believe you owe my family and I an apology.

Dave has done numerous mold inspections for my real estate clients and does an excellent job. He really understands mold, what it is and what causes it. He is not an alarmist and will honestily tell you if you have a serious mold issue, or if is simply a cleanup issue.

Spoke to Dave over the phone due to some concerns I had with the air quality of my home during a remodel. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. He is all about helping the customer out at a fair price and will never attempt to upsell you on any unnecessary services

Dave is extremely knowledgeable and an expert in his field. Mold is a dirty word and he is not an alarmist and explains things very well. Dave is very clear and straightforward and he’s being doing it long enough to know what mold looks like and doesn’t look like. He’s always willing to try to help you minimize costs. I paid another person for a mold report thinking I was going to get a report. All I got were test results which mean jibberish to me. So when you pay him for a report or samples that’s what you get, a full report with his professional opinion and pictures as well as stamped with his industrial Hygienist License. He probably saved my client a lot of money in unnecessary demo work. That is something to be thankful for. Truly a relief to have been referred to you.

*Renters Beware. He is completely biased and on the side of the person who hired him (if your landlord hires him, take notice). He would be on the side of the person who hired him — he is extremely overpriced and knows it. You pay for his biased opinion. He gets 1 star because he does seem knowledgable but has no sense of professionalism.
There is mold growing all over my room, and all over our things so we reached out to our landlord to get it checked out. Before this guy even walked in and took a thorough look he was already blaming us for «taking too long of showers» (keep in mind there isn’t even a shower in our rooms). I have never heard of mold growing on dry clothes because of someone taking too hot of showers without opening the windows right away to vent (its Winter, who would). According to the air samples, My room has 14 times the normal amount of airborne mold spores and he blames it on showering. Really?
He was extremely defensive when questioning him and almost argumentative. He’s one of those «I’m the expert bow down to me» type of nerds.
Something to leave you with… How many people do you know that have had mold grow on their clothes in their dry closet, from taking too hot of showers in a bathroom that is not even in that room? Exactly… He blames us for showering and now we are supposedly responsible for the mold. We’re going to hire a normal priced mold expert and get a second opinion. Someone who is completely objective despite who is paying him or her.

Dave Gold just left after conducting an inspection for us. He came out right away, explained everything he was doing, and described the context for the issues we thought we might have. He was professional, thorough and helpful. We highly recommend him!

I called Gold Health & Safety because another contractor doing work in my attic had pointed out some black stains on the wood beams, which they casually identified as toxic black mold. They offered to remediate the next day (for a few thousand dollars). It didn’t look like mold at all to me. But to be safe, I wanted an independent opinion.
So I found Gold Health & Safety and spoke to Dave Gold over the phone. He offered a lot of professional and technical advice. He quoted me for an on-​site mold inspection including lab analysis. Incredibly, he also offered to first evaluate photos of the suspected mold free of charge, to possibly rule some things out and save me an unnecessary inspection fee. Wow!
So I emailed him a few photos. He replied back that it did not look like mold, explained what it most likely was (which made a lot more sense). But he offered to come out and do a formal inspection if I wanted to be sure, and if it would make me feel more comfortable.
I don’t know what to say. That was an incredibly generous and kind gesture, and so rare to find these days. I am going to swab the stains and test with a DIY home kit just to be safe. But if I decide to move forward with a formal inspection, I will certainly choose Gold Health & Safety. Dave is a certified Industrial Hygienist, seems very experienced (from what I can gather), and is definitely a guy with integrity. Would recommend without hesitation.

As a REALTOR, it is important that I be able to protect my clients and make sure they get the professional expertise they need before making what will surely be one of the more expensive purchases in their lifetime. And if I’m representing a seller, I know that Dave’s report will be fair and will not be overly alarmist or require unnecessary effort like some others I’ve seen. I highly recommend Dave Gold’s firm to check any air quality issues to give people the peace of mind they need — and that I need in order to be sure I’ve done all the legally required due diligence on behalf of these clients.

These guys are AWESOME. I’ve used other companies in the past that were quite good, I now realize that Gold Health & Safety are a clearly in the Top Tier of Safety Consulting professionals. Their investigation of my home was very detailed and their response time was lightening-​fast. They provided an initial phone call with the findings, and followed up with an email and also sent a hard-​copy in the mail. When I had follow-​up questions, they were very responsive and they were able to translate complex terminology into simple layman’s language (this helped me make some tough decisions). No question in my mind, these guys are top notch.

I’m a renter and I have to say Mr. Gold was thorough, efficient and professional. Would use his services again. He found the issue in my apartment and made suggestions on how to solve the problem. Had a great experience with this service. Had to get Gold Health and Safety to come out with short notice, no extra charge, to give me a second opinion. He was clean, on time and honest. His report was no extra charge and more comprehensive than the prior service. His rate was also lower. I own 11 rentals and will now switch over all my business to Gold’s. The prior service had a Mold-​dog and the setups freaked out my tenants to where no one wanted to sleep in the units until the report came back negative. Gold’s was non-​invasive and didn’t alarm my tenants with elaborate setups. Highly recommended.

As a recent home buyer and mom with a 3 year old son that has asthma and allergies, I’m taking a moment out to share my experience and knowledge with other families in similar situations. My intention in writing this review on this company and owner is simply to promote him based on my outstanding experience throughout this unattractive mold experience.
It’s 2 weeks now before close of escrow and we’ve hired mold remediators (Advanced Enviornmental, Ray Castro) to remediate the mold next week. Dave will be hired again for the post inspection and mold clearance. I dont think with my personality that I could have done it any other way… The mold problem was enough to make me walk away if not for the BEST professionals in the industry. I am content and actually, more than satisfied and wanted to post this to help another family save time on the research that I spent days doing for my own family.
