Avoid this place for reel servicing. They flat out didn’t want to do my reels. They said they were worked on when in fact the weren’t ever touched even after leaving them for 6 weeks.(no exaggeration). They may do good rod wrapping but I wouldn’t know.

Pete is a great guy and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to fishing. Not only will he provide great service, he’ll answer any questions you could possibly have. If you’re looking to get your reel serviced, this is the place. Plus, there’s always guys in there that are willing to talk about fishing.

Pete knows what he is doing. He’s honest and his work is great. I have had reels worked on, bought two rods from him, and he’s made some rigs for me. All top notch. If there was a knock on him it’s that he can get backed up with work… but that’s a good thing overall.

Pete is a great guy and provides first-rate service at a fair price. I really like patronizing a local guy like him who takes care of his customers. A+ in my book! Make sure to visit Pete for all your fishing needs; you won’t be disappointed.

I like many of the others who have posted a review, have only good things to say about Pete!!! I went in to have a reel fixed and Pete totally treated me with first class service. He is very very knowledgeable and will make sure you understand what was wrong and how to fix it! I can’t ask for a better place than this. Check him out, then have a big mikes cheesesteak next door.

Best advice I got from a true fishing expert. Thanks Pete for taking the time to show me what a custom rod looks like, can’t wait to pick mine up! There is a huge difference in custom versus off the shelf and I would recommend everyone get a hand crafted rod. I look forward to years of use and abuse with a Pete especial rod.

I got some fishing gear from my father but needed to get it serviced. ALthough I’ve driven by this place a hundred times, I really found it on Unilocal. Here’s how I did… I took 3 reels to get serviced fro Pete. He is a customer serviced based guy. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. We spent about an hour talking and he promised my reels by 3:00pm the next day. I went in at 2:00pm the following day and he was just finishing up the last reel. My experience was very good. We talked fishing, we shared a few laughs and I got my gear back shiny and clean. He gave me information I needed and sent me on my way. I paid about $ 81 for all three reels to be serviced. About $ 25 a piece plus tax. I highly recommend Pete for all service needs. Thanks Pete! Will I again? Yes, I will only take my fishing gear here. Thanks again

A neighborhood store with a owner who is both knowledgeable helpful honest and fair. Wow that’s a lots of compliments or even a bit of hyperbole. Over the years I’ve gone here it’s been experience of a place where men just want to go an hang out and talk about fishing.

Pete is the man. I grew up in Hermosa Beach and would frequent his old shop all the time when I was a grom fishing the old pier. Pete always has great advice and is willing to offer it up to any fisherman, novice to old salty dogs! I have several custom wrapped poles from him over the years. He has serviced several of my reels and always does a great job. I would highly recommend you stop by if you are in need of a new pole, used pole(good selection) or reel service. Like the previous reviewer stated this is not a large fishing store but rather a small place that he custom wraps poles, fixes reels and has a handful or lures, hooks etc. Support your local small owned private shops!!! Oh and if you have a trip coming up let Pete know and he will get your rod wrapped before you leave

Pete is a great guy who knows a lot about fishing, both fresh and salt! His shop is primarily geared for the local saltwater fishing enthusiast, and he is always busy wrapping rods and fixing reels. He’s a great person to get advice from, and he regularly consigns hard to find items like old Newell reels, Harnell and Truline rods, and rare jigs. He stays open late too… but he’s not there on Mondays.
