Tenia is a great instructor! She came to teach Salsa lessons to my workplace during a challenge to increase the level of exercise. She made the class fun and interactive for all levels of dancers and showed us that exercising can be fun. As the event organizer I saw the number of participants increase for each session. At the end of the workshop Tenia hosted a student night for us. Not only is she a great teacher but she is passionate about what she does and her energy is contagious! I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning how to dance.

Let me just get this out here… I was NOT born to dance. I was born to go out on the dance floor, bust a few moves like Elaine from Seinfeld, then run away and cry.
For some reason, I decided several years ago to fight genetics by taking up salsa dancing. My first series of classes at a community college would probably have been fine for a normal person, but, for a no-​dancin’ fool like me, they were stressful and occasionally humiliating. Yuck.
So, I came to the conclusion that I needed some one-​on-​one help. I took private lessons with about 10 salsa instructors, and Tenia from Learn to Salsa was my favorite.
She’s an amazing dancer… smooth, sexy and just the kinda gal I want to be when I grow up. But, more importantly, she’s a great teacher… she can break things down and explain them in a way that even dance-​o-​phobics like me can understand and her instruction has the perfect balance of compassion and humor so you can laugh at yourself but never feel like a fool when you make mistakes.
If that wasn’t enough, she’s COOL… funny, slightly evil and FABULOUS! Not only were my lessons with Tenia the high point of my week, they were the turning point for my dancing… and probably the thing that kept me from giving up on salsa and taking up underwater basketweaving instead.

Tenia is one of THE BEST salsa instructors I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen about 15 – 20. Besides being an amazing and beautiful dancer, she’s very gifted in teaching, which is rare among good dancers. She is extremely patient and takes every question seriously. She’s excellent at breaking down a complicated move into smaller pieces and explaining each piece with as much technical detail as you want. After a couple years of taking lessons here and there, and not really learning much, I finally discovered Tenia. After just a few months of taking her classes, my friends started noticing a big improvement in my dancing and I finally got over my fear of dancing in clubs. Not only will you learn a lot in her classes, but you will also have fun. Ladies, Tenia always adds just the right amount of styling to make even the simple moves look sexy. And for those slightly racy combinations, only Tenia knows how to teach them so that it doesn’t feel awkward when you’re trying it out with a stranger. Her professional attitude and sense of humor make it all a very comfortable and fun experience for everyone. I have gotten over a handful of my friends to try out her classes, and they all got hooked. That’s no surprise! Tenia is also fantastic for private lessons, singles and couples. I loved her so much that I signed up for private lessons with her for my wedding last year. She worked some kind of magic and over a span of only a handful of lessons, she managed to to make an amazing dancer out of my husband who had never done any partner dancing before in his life. And she choreographed the most beautiful routine for our first dance! She is awesome!

Tenia, is a superb Salsa instructor. Besides being an accomplished
choreographer, the not so, secret, secret of her success is that she really LOVES people. Her students have stuck with her down through the years
