The chicken egg rolls are so big it would only take 3 to recreate the Great Wall of China! The nice lady cooking your dinner smiles and is a laugh, she’s really sweet. 10,000 likes for her!

Food is trash compared to the average Chinese food place. Spent over $ 30 for 3 plates and was disappointed. I also asked for 3 cups of water and got hassled, the lady kept trying to get me to buy a bottle of water. Made me super uncomfortable, I almost just walked away. Then when my food came out she only gave me 2 waters, had to ask for a 3rd and was given more attitude. Don’t eat here. Now even sure how this place is in business. Maybe the woman was just having a bad day? Not sure… It sure made me not want to eat here anymore.

There is a reason this place has been here for a million years, because the food is consistent, the prices are cheap, and the plates are ginormous. I am afraid to admit how long I have been coming here so let’s just say I started coming with my high school sweetheart and now I come with my hubby. Do not expect new school gourmet Chinese here, this is straight up old school little greasy with a limited menu, and you can see them cooking it in the back. I love this place and my favorite things here are those giant chicken egg rolls, YUMMMY!!! and their chow mein, very good. We usually park at the meters facing the water, grab a couple plates, sit in the truck, eat, and enjoy the waters.

Fresh. Tasty. Reasonable pricing. I dunno what more would we want from this stall. I ordered #1. A fried shrimp plate. I got so much food. That became my lunch and my dinner!

This is some good Chinese food. I really never ordered here until a few years ago. Just because I think… dang I can get Chinese food anytime anywhere at home. But I tell you what there is nothing wrong with having the urge to get some from this place. It’s not bad at all. Fried shrimp is good. Nice size shrimp not battered in a thick breading. You can watch them cook your food. It is all wokified. I would rather just sit here on the pier and enjoy the scenery and the weather. They do stay open until 1 am.

Hours are WRONG open only till 9pm and the guy ALWAYS closes early. Do not go after 9pm, even after 845pm you will not be served any food. One star because their listing is dishonest, food is fine.

DON’T come here! The food here is disgusting and not even fresh. Ordered the combo plate with Orange chicken and shrimp and just a few bites in and you can immediately taste how awful it is. The Orange chicken though, goodness, the worst part. Literally made me sick within a few minutes of eating it, stomach cramps and nausea. And to top it off, the lady here was soo rude. And still had the nerve to try and talk crap about the food place right next to hers saying that they’re too expensive.

Thank you Unilocal for this gem! Their chicken egg rolls are seriously out of this world amazing. Let me say this again– the chicken egg rolls are out of this world AMAZING! They are huge and just so delicious. We also get the chow mein which is terrific! Yes, we take our food to the beach, where we eat and let the Chinese soak up all the alcohol from the night before. Such great food, I just wish I didn’t have to drive to Redondo to get it.

The combination of the quality and quantity of food is not worth the price. Don’t understand why this place has such great reviews, maybe I should come back when I’m drunk.

I’ve lived in the area for 25 years. I had disappointing food at other pier counter service restaurants and figured they were all pretty much the same. Was I ever wrong. Mini Chinese Food is awesome. The food is so good it is now a reason for me to go to the pier and get something to eat. The Fried Shrimp plate is my favorite. large shrimp batter and panko crusted that are properly fried in hot oil. They are crispy and not at all greasy. They come with an ample supply of shoestring(McDonalds cut) French fries. The food here is splurge worthy for dieters and healthy eaters. I just wish they had a stir-fried veggie dish.

I stopped by Mini Chinese food one night when I had an unyielding late-night Chinese food craving and it was the only place open late in the area. Upon arriving it was clear that the main draw to this place is that it is open and surrounded by bars. I can definitely see how this would be a top choice of mine to stop at after a night of drinking. It’s a little walk-up restaurant literally on the pier with some outdoor picnic tables in front. It would seem very out of place for the daytime, I can’t imagine anyone spending an afternoon on the pier and deciding to get take-out Chinese food for lunch. We got shrimp, pork, and chicken dishes and the meats were all very good and much more traditional tasting than what I was expecting. However the chow mien and fried rice that came with all the dishes were bland. I’ll definitely remember this as an option if I’m ever on the Redondo beach pier late at night.

I love going to Redondo Beach pier. I love the sound of the water, the lively atmosphere and colorful surroundings. I also love all the variety of eateries they have at the pier and just recently discovered this little spot called Mini Chinese Food. The first thing that attracted me to Mini Chinese food was seeing their large chicken egg rolls! It’s rare to find places offering these large chicken egg rolls. Here at Mini Chinese Food they offer these egg rolls for $ 2.50! They fry and heat it up for you when order it so it’s perfectly hot and crispy when you eat it. The egg roll is good in value because is packed with chicken. Aside from getting the chicken egg roll, I chose to get a combo #13. For $ 7.95, you get orange chicken, broccoli chicken, fried rice and chow mein. At first I thought it was pricey but then I saw how much chicken they put in this combo and I realized this is pretty decently priced. The guy working there put a lot of orange chicken and broccoli chicken. It was enough for two meals! Like other Unilocalers mentioned they are not skimpy on the portions. They are very generous with the food they give. Taste wise, the combo was great too! I liked the soft and round chow mein noodles. The chicken entrees were lean and tender. I love this little spot at Redondo Beach pier!

The biggest draw of this place is that’s it’s open late. After a night of drinking at Tony’s, just a hope skip jump away is friendly customer service waiting for you. The employee’s make this place. They are cool, relaxed and ya know it’s the service you get with a family owned place with people that care. The Egg Roll! 2.50 for a Egg Roll and will always hit the spot! This isn’t a small egg roll either! You can have two egg rolls for 5 dollars and you will leave happy. The Chinese Food tastes great, sure it’s not one dollar, but you can’t get quality like this for one dollar! This place is open late, which isn’t something the pier food places don’t do. The food is terrific. I love this place!

After a night of drinking and not eating(thanks, Oriental Breeze), I needed some food ASAP. It was about 11pm and there was barely anything open on the pier. Luckily, Mini Chinese came to my rescue! They only take cash, so I had to borrow some from my friend. I ordered the fried shrimp plate. The food was out in just a couple minutes. Took a seat on a table outside and devoured my shrimp and fries. They were soooo good! I liked that they had a big bottle of cocktail sauce on the counter so I kept going back and getting more. I thought maybe I loved the food just because I was drunk and starving, but after looking at the other reviews, seems like everybody likes this place! Can’t beat a yummy dinner for less than $ 10!
