P V Village Pet Hospital

Wow! I am totally blown away and totally grateful for the excellent and speedy treatment I’ve received from the staff… Dr. Fuchino is indeed awesome, as are Jen and Shannon and everyone else I’ve met there within the last couple of weeks. My 13 year old Shih-​Tzu had a series of tumors on one of her paws that were causing extreme discomfort and altering her behavior (she normally behaves like a two-​year-​old!). I had been quoted an extremely high price for removal of these tumors by my former vet, a price that made surgery a non-​possibility. I was seriously considering having to put my Muffin down in order to relieve her discomfort, and just wasn’t ready to do that… very torn up as to what to do. My daughter and a neighbor both said «Call Stacy Fuchino!!» I am so glad they did, and so glad I made that call. Muffin is recovering nicely, and has now had her first professional grooming in 7 years — she’s her adorable self and back to behaving like a two-​year-​old again! Many, many thanks to Dr. Fuchino, to Jen, Shannon, the techs, and everyone at PV Village Pet Hospital for taking such good care of my girl.

Just got back from ElCids vet (P. V. Pet Hospital) in Redondo Beach, his yearly check-​up. At first the charges seamed logical and fair but then I noticed two other charges for administering two shots (not the meds., just the shots, $ 22.00 EACH). The meds totaled 14.52 and the cost to give them was 44.00 plus the examination fee of $ 54.00. I asked about the cost of each of the meds. and was told. I had no idea that I even had to ask if there was a charge to administer them, well $ 22.00 each one!!! This is underhanded and wrong, is this the new date rape style of doing business, I think perhaps it is and my dog and I will not be back.

The entire staff of this vet are first class. They have taken care of my cats over the years with great care. They are friendly and attentive through good health and most noticeably through the bad. I would highly recommend anyone who treats their pet like a member of the family to bring them here.

Everyone is very polite, and the groomers always take care of my dog very well. The prices for grooming cannot be beat. I even needed them to give my dog a pill one time and they gave it to her and made sure that she was well taken care of.

The staff and doctors at PV Village Pet Hospital are all very caring and kind people. Jen and Shannon in the front are always very helpful, whether to fill a prescription or make an appointment. Dr. Fuchino is AWSOME! He is very kind and always takes his time to answer all my questions or explain instructions. He combines East/​West medicine as well. One of my dogs are responded well to acupuncture so I am pleased they offer it. Further, I always get a prompt call from the doctor when I am awaiting lab results and I find their fees very reasonable.
Not only do I take all my pets there for veterinary care but I also use their grooming services. All my pets come back clean and fluffy.

Yesterday’s experience qualifies as a good Halloween story because it involves a cat & spiders.
It began in the morning when I took my cat, Frank (named after Mr. S., Old Blue Eyes) to the vet for a nail trimming, ear cleaning & routine check-​up. It was sorta like a spa treatment & Frank came home all spiffed-​up with a clean bill of health, lookin’ good.
Then I had a contractor to the house to check out my furnace. The furnace closet is tucked into a space adjoining the under-​house area, where I have those sticky glue boards that work great for catching spiders. In fact, there are several dead spiders on them always.
So…we left the door to the furnace open briefly while we went outside to clean the filter. I thought the cat was sleeping upstairs.
You know what’s coming…
After the contractor left I found kitty on the couch surrounded by sticky traps. Yes, he sneaked into the crawl space & sat on the glue traps.
He had managed to separate himself from the glue boards, pulling out a bunch of his fur in the process & was trying to lick off the adhesive.
This adhesive is powerful stuff. After I touched the cat my hand stuck to my phone. The phone I used to call the vet in a panic.
Back to PV Pet Hospital we went, because I had no clue how to remove the glue from the cat. I did pick off dead spiders from Frank’s hind end before putting him in his carrier. SO creepy.
The Vet & an assistant worked on Frank for quite awhile, using goo gone or goop off or some such product. Then of course kitty had a partial bath.
During this process I was in the waiting room eyeing the complimentary dog treats cuz I’d not had time to eat all day…
At the end of the glue removal, I went into the back room where Frank was on his back spread-​eagle in a gentle headlock, soaking wet. He greeted me with a guilty meow.
Oh why did I not have my camera in hand…
Needless to say, PV Village Pet Hospital saved the day! Endless thanks!
As I write this, Frank is sleeping peacefully, appearing none the worse for wear.
I am cleaning sticky stuff from floors & furniture where kitty apparently struggled with the glue boards. He covered a lot of ground.
I hope Frank has no more Halloween pranks up his sleeve cuz I have a headache as big as a pumpkin.

We started going to PV Village when Dr. Omoto was running the practice and it was a kind, caring and excellent practice. We stayed through the change in ownership and were satisfied with the professionalism. But, something changed with the move to PCH. The front office staff are indifferent, the environment cold and the care is below what we experienced over the last15 years. We took our dog in because he was limping, the Vet took him in the back, came back and said he cut his foot and we should use over the counter Neosporin. When we got home I realized that his paw where the cut is was covered in mud. We couldn’t see the cut, but they didn’t even bother cleaning his wound! And they charged us $ 140 for this negligence. 10 days later he’s limping far worse. We’ve moved to Dr. Dirk at Redondo Shores – the practice is what PV Village Pet use to be – caring and smart.

This is long overdue. Our 7 year old Lab developed an aggressive bone cancer in October of last year. By Christmas, we were facing terrible decisions. Throughout his care and his final moments, the staff and Dr. Fuchino were amazing to us and Lucky. So much so, that as we are now adopting a puppy lab, I’ve just made our first puppy appointment with them!

I am a new client of this facility and so far they have been fabulous. Have a new Golden Retriever pup who is having some ear or skin irritation today and had to see Dr Francis twice in one day! Puppies in discomfort is more than I can handle and thankfully these folks have been kind and understanding as we try and figure out what the problem is. Hopefully our future is just routine yearly visits as my past Golden’s had been, either way I’m feeling confident I’ve chosen the right location for my little guys needs.

SO upset with this place. I took my dog in for a grooming and they returned him to me WITH FLEAS. I called to let them know and they told me «well we have a big facility so you never know or they could have gotten on him when you left to walk to your car» … Yea I don’t think it was the 10 step walk through the parking lot when he was in my arms. I’m disgusted in the way I was treated, in the way that my dog was apparently mistreated, and that I literally payed them to give my dog fleas. How irresponsible and disgusting. I would not recommend anyone bring their beloved animal here EVER nor will I ever again.

Janet is awesome. She’s so helpful and caring. She’s been such a great resource and she loves animals. I have two feral cats and ages given me solid advice. I can see that pv pet hospital is not focused on Money but taking care of people and animals! That’s a business I want to support.

Very dissapointed AGAIN! I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt even though I knew I shouldn’t. They couldn’t give my kittens a simple bath today, instead they gave them a lime/​sulpher dip for ring worm, by mistake!!! I had to make yet another trip back to pick up my kittens who were stressed and they had the nerve to charge me full price without a simple apology!
Earlier in the year they cleaned my adult cats teeth and gave him the wrong medicine which damaged his kidneys and I had to take him to a specialist to the tune of $ 1000.00. They also decided to shave him even though I asked them not to and my lion cut cat looked like a RAT…
The front office staff starts off friendly and becomes very cold and unreceptive.
Taking my business elsewhere and I have been with them for 8 years!!!

Their groomers seem to be quite inexperienced. Every time I take my dogs there I have to sit and wait when I pick them up because they didn’t cut them according to the instructions I left. «Short everywhere, with poodle feet». Plus their hair is never one constant length. I regroom them when we get home.
This has been happening for over 3 years. I’ve had enough and am going somewhere else.
The dogs also come home apparently dehydrated as they drink a whole bowl of water when they get home.

I have a new puppy and so far my experience has been amazing! The ladies at the front desk are friendly and helpful. Jen at the front has just helped me get all my puppy papers and shots organized since the veterinarian recognized that some of my dogs shots were out of order (breeders fault). And I love that I can just walk right in on her shot days and not worry about an appointment. I also bought their puppy package since I had to do all the shots over and it saved me $ 80.

much better experience this last time i took my pug for boarding. the girls at the front were very courteous and perfectly competent. they returned my pug back to me looking well cared for… keep it up!

I use to love this animal hospital. I have history with this place. Dr fuchino and dr laya have saved my pets lives and they have comforted me when they died of old age (even sent me a im sorry for your loss card) but lately even with the move to the bigger location (which is beautiful) I find myself not feeling as welcomed as I once did before. Jenn is still amazing as always but this newer girl Michelle is cold and unpleasant. She seems like she hates her job and on several occasions has had an attitude while talking to me. I purposely try an avoid her now and can honestly say she has changed pv village pet hospital for me.

Do not take your pet here! I have a small 15 lb pug, who I took in for a nail clipping. The following day he could barely walk and whimpered when I tried to pick him up. I then took the little guy to my old vet in oc and after x-​rays & tests, come to find his back was severely tweaked from the nail clipping! The pv pet village staff told me he was a «fighter»…guess that entitled them to squeeze him so hard he now has to be on pain killers for 2 weeks:(

Jenn and Michelle are the best! I’ve brought all 3 of my four legged babies here and they always leave happier, healthier and feeling loved.
My 12yo pit, Sparky, has been having arthritis pains after having a TPLO about 3 yrs ago. My bf brought him in for an exam and they gave him anti inflammatory and pain meds. He has been 100% better and more mobile and generally more comfy.
This is just one great experience after several awesome visits with a recent rescue who needed de-​wormer and some meds to sedate him during the 4^th of July. (He wasn’t too keen on fireworks)
I’ve also brought my boxer/​pit baby girl in when she banged her ear and it swelled up.
Every time I come here I feel welcome and secure in the fact that my pups will be in good hands and they’ll go home all better. The front staff always go above and beyond!

Dr Fuchino and his staff have been great to our beloved lab, Palmer. The staff is always so sweet with him and he loves it there. They’re very patient with his too enthusiastic attitude towards other dogs. The vet tech visits are always super fast.
If there were a half star system here, I would choose 4.5. Minus the half star because when we do go to see the Dr, we do wait quite a bit …

Our pets have been patients of Dr. Fuchino and his other VERY professional vets for a long time.
Our 2 ½ year old black lab Rozzie recently got into some gardening fluid (either a poison or a liquid fertilizer) and we rushed her to P.V. Pet Clinic.
We were seen by Dr. Hodgen and she recommended an IV treatment as well as meds to help protect the stomach. Roz had to be on this treatment for 2 days.
We’ve now had our final blood panel results and Roz is all clear.
I just wanted to say thank you to the P.V. Pet Clinic and particularly Dr. Hodgen for helping our Rozzie !
