OK, this place is out of business now. Simply abandoned … the chickens are safe now from this man’s oven.

I got there today about 11:30, soon after they opened. It was my first visit; they have been open only 3 months. I immediately noticed how clean this place looks, then was impressed by the friendliness of the staff(see photos), who perhaps are the family who owns it? At any rate, I was beyond starving. I had no Internet connect this morning… horrors! A TW issue that I could do nothing about, except wait. So I went out for coffee and then decided to go hiking locally… on a empty stomach. After a couple hours of that I could have eaten a horse with hair on it! haha I settled for Mediterranean at Roadrunner… just so I could have a new place to review, I won’t lie. How hungry was I? I got the special, for 25 people. No! just kidding! haha I got the special $ 12.99 «Family Meal»…lordy. My family consists of me and my cat. The bag of food was so heavy as I carried it to my car: a whole chicken. hummus, salad, rice, 4 pita breads &2 garlic spreads. Obviously intended for 2 people. So I got it all home and began to spread the food out on my kitchen counter. I sampled some chicken, then the hummus, then the salad… it was so good I ended up eating standing at the counter, using the serving spoon. I could not leave that food long enough to walk it to the table! what a pig! Man, it was delicious. I don’t often eat Mediterranean food, so I am hardly a connoisseur. But that garlic spread was pure garlic, as promised to me at the restaurant. The chicken was moist and perfect(my cat loved it too). The hummus was wonderful, as was the tasty salad. Everything was very fresh. If my second visit is as good as the first, I will upgrade to 5 stars. And no I did not eat that entire chicken. I ate about a third of everything, will have the rest for dinner. Pretty good deal for 13 bucks! They are located at PCH and Avenue F. It’s a great-looking menu so give ‘em a try.

In todays society with people who don’t seem to care about people, this restaurant gets 5 stars for service. Everytime I go there, they are so friendly to me and either give me free hummus, bread, rum balls, soup etc. I have had some dishes that I like better than others and for sure the falafal is AWESOME. It is nice when a family owned and operated business opens because they know how to treat people… sometimes that is more important than the perfection of the food! :)

I wish I could give this place a raving review but unfortunately, not. I concur with Stephen C. that chicken is probably not their thing. I have a suspicious feeling that Sima C. is either a friend or relative of the owners judging from her review and profile! Anyways, I was excited to see a new Mediterranean eatery open up in south Redondo Beach as I like the healthy fare typical of these types of restaurants. I finally made it in today and must say my experience was slightly disappointing. They serve a variety of chicken, schwerma, and falafel dishes. While at the order counter, they gave me a sample of the lentil soup which was just okay, nothing special to rave about. I decided on the ¼ dark chicken plate. The plate consisted a small piece of thigh and drumstick on a thin bed of rice. I hate it when the pictures depicting the dishes appear larger than what is actually served which is what happened today. There was a small side salad and a side of hummus for the two pieces of pita bread I was given as well as a small tub of garlic sauce. The chicken was a really small piece and didn’t have alot of meat on it. It wasn’t very flavorful and was slightly overcooked. The salad was interesting with the hot peppers and pickled turnips which I’ve never had before. I did like the hummus and the garlic sauce was surprisingly tasty as well. However, I wish they had been a little more generous with the rice. If I had just opened this business, I would probably try to be a little more generous on the portions that are served because they were chintzy with mine especially knowing that I was a first time customer. I suppose I’m comparing the plates to that of other Mediterranean eateries as they tend to serve larger pieces of chicken and are more generous with the side orders. I wish this business the best because it would be great to have them as an option but unless they start being a little more generous with their servings and roast bigger chickens, I don’t think people will see any value there. I guess only time will tell…
