So incredibly impressed by the friendly staff and quality of hair styling this place offered me today. I was greeted with such warmth and made to feel very welcome, and that already means a lot when you’re a new customer to a salon. I was also able to be seen as a walk-​in, so that was also an added bonus since I had messed up my hair attempting to do a DIY bleach & color, so being seen right away made my day. Mariana did my hair and she was amazing and kind, I will definitely be coming back to her for my upkeep. Also, I had read about this salon on Unilocal before and heard a ton of good comments about the salon owner, Tammy, and how personable she was. And I got to experience her awesome and genuine personality during my appt, and so it’s great to see people who are passionate about what they do and want to provide the client with the best experience possible. Needless to say, I’m excited to return for my future cuts and colors!

Seriously, I love Dana. I am so unbelievably picky with my hair cut and Dana always go out of her way to make sure I am happy with the cut. And don’t get me started on the color, my blonde highlights are always so dynamic I get compliments all the time… took me a while to find her, and this is why I keep coming back over and over… she is seriously the best! Thank you Dana!!!

I came to Salon Lucid looking to liven up my dull brown hair with a rose gold balayage I had been seeing on Pinterest. I wanted something new but I was still very nervous to make a change and stylist Marco Garcia made me feel so comfortable and reassured me that I would be well taken care of. We laughed and talked the whole time while he was working his color magic! He used a conditioning treatment on me that has left my hair feeling so smooth! He also trimmed my hair and gave me curls for an event I had later that day. Everyone else at the salon was so sweet and it was such a fun environment to hang out in for a few hours (especially with a mimosa in hand)! I couldn’t be happier with my beautiful new hair! I will definitely be coming back to Marco when I need another trim or have a new color in mind that I want him to create. (P.S. — Their shampoo bowls have a built-​in head rest so you can actually enjoy your shampooing massage without getting a neck cramp!)

Very nice staff but all wanted to sell me stuff. Mariana was in a rush to do my hair. Showed her 3 pictures of what I wanted (long bob: long in front and shorter in back with layers in the back) I have the same length on the right side and the left side has a slight angle. Layers all over. I even had to cut a chunk of hair that was way longer than the rest. Gotta wait about 6 more months for my hair to grow again to try another salon… Disappointed since this place got good reviews.

If you’re looking for a great mens haircut go see Coco. I was a previous customer of hers from another shop she was cutting hair at and liked her haircuts so much that I followed her to this one. I’ve had my haircut from a number of different barbers in the past but Coco definitely stands out. She has great attention to detail, skills, consistency and always delivers a quality haircut. I leave happier then I came in after every haircut because of how well she cut my hair which is really rare in my experience. I think this speaks to how skilled she is. She’s also very personable and easy to talk too.

After coming here religiously for my hair needs and wants for the last four months I am now having to find another place to frequent because the staff was unable to communicate with me. I should preface that I am very willing to work with others especially professionals about my hair. I want nothing but the best and am always finding new ways to change it up (knowing that this is a very lengthy and expensive process). All I asked was for their professional advice. I was very disappointed that they weren’t willing to do the same and instead of troubleshooting and possibly finding a different stylist for me to work with, they just said they wished me luck elsewhere. I was hoping to have more of a professional communication and work with the salon team to fit my needs since I truly loved the salon, the owner, the team, and the venue. I’m hoping I can change this review again in the future and I f nothing else, they find this to be a learning tool for their future as a business.

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. I’d gone looking for a new salon after my previous stylist moved to a different part of town, and came upon this place. Probably about a year overdue for a haircut and feeling a bit sheepish regarding my tangled head of hair, not to mention nervous about walking into a new place — lord knows what butchery was about to happen — I was instantly put at ease by Sara and the friendliness of the rest of the crew at Salon Lucid.
Sara is incredibly talented and so easily chats with you it feels as though you’re out to brunch gossiping over mimosas with your bestie (and they do actually have mimosas there) and the vibe of the whole salon is very chill and relaxed.
I got a little slap on the wrist (kidding) for going almost two years without attending to my hair, but after this experience I definitely won’t be dragging my feet to go get my regular six month trimmings. .. gotta catch up on the gossip and get my mimosa fix, after all

Haha, made an appointment on the same day. I had a great experience with Marco Garcia, the bob king (that’s what he called himself). He was very sassy, friendly and nice. He will be your best friend once you walk in as his client. And let me tell you, he got all three things that you want for your hairstylist to be:
1) great and easygoing personality that nobody can hate: you will know right away when you walk into the salon if he’s marco or not. He will recognize you first by eye contact and gesture. He enjoys what he does and is definitely on top of everything for his clients.
2) haircut skills & techniques/​communication skills: you can already tell when you start talking to the hair stylist. He will let you know and clarify what you really want before he starts cutting/​or even touching your hair. He will let you know what’s best for you and your facial shape and etc. He will also be honest about your hair if you dare to do something harmful/​too much on your hair.
3) Make-​up artist skill? Absolutely an expert! I suck at putting make up on. And, I told him about it. He had extra 20 minutes before his next client arrived. So, he briefly gave me free lesson and taught me how to contour and put eyeliners! He’s amazing! I wish he was my hair/​make up stylist everyday! You should also check out his instagram if you’re curious about his make-​up skills.
Anyway, I had the best experience at Salon Lucid; not just saying! but really! you will enjoy being a client!

This was my first time here. My stylist was Sara, I needed someone experienced and professional to suggest the right treatment and color. I am so happy, she got my hair so beautiful, thank you Sara! You are great!
Second visit: I Finally was able to bring my daughter, Sara did a great job! We are very pleased because my daughter’s hair needed work and it is actually beautiful again!
To management: the whisky comment was border line rude and unnecessary. Rushing out, making suggestions etc, who were you if you did not even had the courtesy to introduce yourself?
Happy with the results and grateful to Sara for her kindness and professionalism. Thank you.

Schedule your next appointment with Marco! You get the star treatment, such a great and talented hairstylist! Made my hair full of volume and repaired my damaged ends! Love love love him!

I go to salon lucid for all of my blow-​out and up-​do needs, and everyone I’ve seen has been amazing. I saw Maria for a formal party up-​do, and my hair looked incredible! I’ve also been to Spencer and Dana, and I love them both! You’re in great hands with anyone at Salon Lucid. Highly recommend.

Mariana is a hair wizard. No joke. I knew I was in good hands the whole time and totally trusted her to make any decisions with my hair. I didn’t even bring pictures. Just said «I need volume, here’s my hair.» And magic happened. My shoulder-​length, frizzy, curly, super thin hair has SO MUCH BODY and movement and volume after this cut. Plus she gives a bomb scalp massage. I almost feel asleep. Plus, you know. Mimosas. At 1PM on a Saturday. Nobody said I wasn’t a lush.
I used the first-​timer check in discount on Unilocal this time, but I would not hesitate to pay full price (and then some) and to refer this salon and Mariana to anyone.

I went to have my hair dye, Mariana Aldana was Amazing, super Charismatic and Professional, I got a treatment before, so that my hair would still be healthy after the Dye and it felt great, everybody in the Salon was very friendly, and the ambient was relaxing and soothing…
I would recommend this Place in a Second, it is fairly priced and at the end of the day you leave feeling Like New !!!
You have to GO !!!

This is by far the best salon in the South Bay! After the wonderful job that Sara and Mario did to make me such a beautiful bride (as mentioned in my previous post), I fell in love with this salon and decided to start coming here regularly. Since Sara doesn’t work on Saturdays when I prefer to go for my regular hair appts I was assigned to Mariana who did the most amazing job on my cut and color. Mariana is super nice and friendly, and I feel so confident having her do my hair. I love how knowledgeable she is and I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she made my color so perfectly like it. This salon is a little more pricy than I was used to in the past, but for the amazing quality of service they provide I have no problem paying more. I will always pay more for better service than cheaper prices for poor service.

So I’ve been here two times. The first time I think her name was Dana cut my hair. It turned out awesome and she was super sweet.
The second time I went there to get my hair colored. I chose Spencer to lighten my hair because he seemed so professional due to his pictures and rave reviews on Unilocal.He bleached my hair and toned it. He told me I was ready to go blond and that my hair was in good enough condition. I have naturally dark brown hair and I wanted him to do a nice balayage to blond hair. Instead of flowing natural change of color on my hair he made a harsh line of black and yellow that looked really bad. He toned it which made it a little better but the way he painted the color on made a freaking line. I feel like he got lazy and just didn’t care half way. It looked so horrible. I would never go here again. I had to walk around with bad hair for like 2 months because the bleach had damaged it so bad. Thankfully found someone else who corrected it completely.
In response to Salon Lucid: I didn’t realize how bad it was until I got home after 3 washes when the toning had worn off how lazy the actual paint job really was. And yes my review was a little late but I feel people should know what my experience really was. If you look at the picture I posted you should understand why. Maybe I should have gone back to fix it but to be honest I did not want you guys touching my hair ever again! Sorry!

I’ve been searching for a good hair dresser to do my highlights and hair cuts and I found her. Mariana y so good at her job and this is the second time I come and I’m more happy than the last time! She is the best with hair color and highlights.
Ask for Mariana! The best.

I came into Salon Lucid for the first time this week. Just want to drop a note here about how pleased I am with my experience with Sara! I’ve lived in Redondo my whole life but I’ve struggled to find a stylist who makes me feel comfortable, takes the time to have a real consultation with me before cutting away, and whose work feels «worth it» to me for the area’s high prices. But Sara was wonderful – she truly took her time to understand the style I wanted and I felt so pampered by the end! My long hair went from dull and heavy to having beautiful layers and movement, and it was so smooth and shiny!
At the end I also found out the price would be discounted because I was a first time customer, which was such a pleasant surprise! I’ve never left a salon thinking «I’ll definitely come back to her! I love her!» but that’s how I felt after this experience. Ran right home to recommend her to my mom and a good friend. I also appreciated that she informed me about the products she used and gave me samples to take home rather than pressuring me to buy anything on the spot. I think they have a great business model at this salon, I can see why their customers are so loyal.

I had been to different places and never got what i wanted. This is My second time coming here to do my hair at Salon Lucid with Brenda Agredano and I love it! She is great at what she does and will definitely recommend her to everyone I know! Love the attention and how comfortable she makes you feel! And my hair looks awesome

Awesome Salon! Tiffany was amazing!
I had a unique situation, where I needed my hair «fixed». It was chemically fried blonde and too short (by another salon). When I walked in, I was greeted, and quickly seated.
Tiffany LISTENED and understood my needs/​concerns. She came up with a plan and walked me through what she was going to do today and the future to reach my hair goal. I was even presented with a mimosa while I waited for my hair treatment to develop.
My expectations of Tiffany and the salon were surpassed. The pricing was great, no surprises. I would definitely recommend this place.

I had my hair done by Tiffany 2 weeks ago and I’m so happy with it. I love the color and the experience was great. I haven’t been able to capture the color I wanted till I met her !! Can’t wait to go get my hair done again !!
