I’ve done a few different genres of photo shoots with Southbay Image, from boudoir to business professional, and I will continue coming back. Always such a joy and a great studio environment. RJ, the photographer, is super professional, yet friendly and extremely helpful in getting raw emotion out of you for that winning photo full of natural expression.

I’ve worked with RJ quite a few times. Amazing photographer and very professional. The studio itself is very welcoming. He’s great at making you feel comfortable and will walk you through the whole process.

I had hired RJ to shoot some photos of me in Burlesque costumes, and his work far exceeded my expectations. The photos came out absolutely stunning and I am thrilled to have had the experience of working with such a gifted photographer. It was my first time doing a photo shoot and RJ made me feel very comfortable, in terms of communicating with me and giving me excellent direction on my poses, hair, make-​up and wardrobe. Also, RJ’s sensitive eye for lighting and framing is a rare quality, and sets him above many other photographers. I can tell that RJ really loves and cares about what he does, and it is reflected in the end result. When I saw my photos, I could not believe that I’m that same girl in those images! Paris was also a joy to work with. I loved the make-​up and hair that she did on me. She created a variety of looks on me and everything translated beautifully onto the photos.
All in all, I am very pleased with the professionalism and high standards of Southbay Image. I highly recommend this place. Rest assured that you will be in good hands if you come here to have your photos taken.

I recently went in to have some headshots taken for my job. I needed professional photos that I could use for my LinkedIn and other professional opportunities. I am not photogenic. I hate taking pictures. I am not comfortable in front of a lens. RJ made me feel so comfortable in the studio and would give me direction in order to have a variety of photos to choose from. Some of them were serious and professional, and others were just funny because he wanted to make me laugh to feel more at ease. It was a great experience and I couldn’t have asked for more. I love the way that my photos turned out and I would recommend RJ’s services to anyone and everyone!

All I can say is SO GLAD I chose to go with Southbay Image! Signing up and picking my preferences was so easy online (there’s three different studios for whatever you need), he was honest about the whole process, made me feel comfortable behind the camera and then walked me through the proofs after the shoot. I’ve gone to studios before and had completely different experiences, while this was actually fun. I’ve already recommended him to friends — thanks Paris and RJ! Will definitely be back :)

Wow this place was amazing! Needed some headshots so booked an appt here because of the reviews and was extremely happy with the results. RJ was professional and so experienced in what he does. Will recommend to friends and family.

I wanted some pictures of myself as a gift for my husband’s birthday. I was not very secure about how I would look on camera, and I voiced my concerns to RJ. He assured me he’s make me look beautiful. Wow, was he right! I have never seen myself look so glamorous in my life. And the poses he was able to get me to do made me look like a seasoned fashion model. I was blown away. My husband will get his book next week for his birthday gift and probably be amazed. And better yet, I’ll have the pictures and the memory of an amazing experience for ever. I would highly recommend RJ photography to anyone who wants to look great in pictures and really feel good about themselves.

RJ and Paris were an absolute pleasure to work with. There was a ton of collaboration involved, so they really made me feel like it was «our» project. The synergy that was created among three creative minds took on a life of its own. Ideas abounded once we got to talking.
RJ gave me some things to think about before coming in so that we could hit the ground running once I arrived at the studio. Not only that, but he REALLY did his «homework» and prepared the set long before my arrival. I walked in to see all my gear arranged in a way that was more aesthetically pleasing than I had ever seen.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I had to leave thousands of dollars worth of music equipment at the studio overnight. Unbeknownst to me, RJ actually stayed there and slept on the couch so that he could be sure everything was safe!
The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxed. RJ and Paris took their time to make sure everything was done right I never once felt hurried. I stayed for quite awhile after the shoot as RJ demonstrated his editing process. It was fascinating for me, a musician, to get a look inside the creative world of a photographer.
RJ and I have been in touch ever since the shoot and he is always happy to work with me concerning any requests/​questions I may have. The cost was already amazingly low, and considering the amount of time, energy, and care he put into the project I truly feel like I got the better end of the deal. There is no doubt in my mind… I will DEFINITELY be working with RJ again.
