My husband and I have been customers for more than 20 years. We’ve never had an issue. Great job, great service and the owners are amazing.

I’ve never had DRAPES cleaned before. But, after 4 years in the new house, the drapes that were here when we moved in needed SOMETHING! The previous owners had cats, so they were damaged. They were dirty. They looked so bad, I was tempted to replace them. But, it was worth a try. I didn’t know what to expect — prepared for a train wreck. But, … Mr. Chung & his staff did SUCH an AMAZING job! They even sewed some repairs! They look like NEW! I can’t believe I almost threw them out! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, Mr. Chung & crew!

Professional service and best quality work including alterations. I have been a client since they opened 3 yaers ago. Best dry cleaner in the Beach Cities and South bay area. Reasonably priced and super accommodating! Wong speaks fluent Spanish I enjoy speaking to him in Spanish. btw… they just became new grandparents Go in and Congratulate them! They are so excited Wang may even show you a pic of his handsome grandson.

Last-​minute business trip on a plane first thing tomorrow morning and all my dress shirts are filthy. I called around to a few local places to see if anyone could help me and was about to give up but called Southwood and Wong said come on by, we’ll do our best.
I got there and he said he couldn’t do their best work in such short time but they’d do their best.
Long story short — I picked up my 2 shirts looking great and I’ll look professional in my meeting tomorrow in San Francisco. For as long as I live in the South Bay, they will be my dry cleaner!

I’ve been going to Southwood Dry Cleaners for almost as long as I’ve lived in Redondo Beach (27 years). This is hands down the best dry cleaner I’ve ever used, and I’ve used many.
On average, I take around 12 pieces to them a week, and have been doing that from the beginning. I’ve never had even one tiny problem with them. From alterations to drapery cleaning to putting zippers in throw pillows, I’ve never been disappointed.
The owners are a married couple, Sonya and Wong. Their son and daughter work there on occasion to help out. They are all lovely people — extremely friendly and helpful. Sonya knows my wardrobe so well, that she’ll comment on a new piece of clothing when she sees it.
I’m usually a little hesitant about recommending people or businesses for fear of it backfiring, but I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Southwood Dry Cleaners. They’re the best.

My wife and I have been going here about 3 years. Overall we have had great service. Our clothes are on time and quality is good.
The couple that owns the place are very friendly and remembers our name.
I had them do a simple alteration on one of my shirts and they did a good job on that.
The reason for 4 stars is because one of our clothes was ruined. They acknowledged the incident and gave us some money in return. Unfortunately the item was worth a lot more than the refunded money. But, 1 problem in 2 years isn’t bad.

I really like this place. After going to a few places in the South Bay area, i was recommended by someone, and glad i was. Been here twice now, and this place is quick and friendly. I’ve only had them clean and press shirts, but looks like quite the array of items are in there and they always seem busy. There was something i really needed urgently, and they did it same day for me, and to perfection! Their prices are also very reasonable.

I was actually surprised that there was an ACTUAL customer that wasn’t satisfied with southwood. (And she wrote a Ph.D. thesis on this place. holy moly! LOL) But, everyone has their own point of views, I guess… but in all honesty man… Anything lower than a 2 star for this place… you are just a hater.
I’m from the seven-​one-​Fo (Orange county)…but since my church is near southwood… I gave it a shot.
Let me tell you guys straight up. They didn’t disappoint me.
You tell them what you want, how you want it, and they’ll do it for you, pronto.
I went in to dry clean my clothes from express the other day, and I also needed some hemming on my pants, and they did that the same day
After going to Southwood, I don’t think I can really switch to the dry cleaners near my house. Because, trust me guys… I’ve been to A LOT of dry cleaners before… and some places don’t do the job right – but southwood does. And when I mean some places not doing their job right. I mean… they don’t clean the clothes right sometimes… but Southwood? southwood cleans it to… the microscopic level. I’m not even exaggerating… I feel so fresh when I wear my clothes after I wash it here for some reason…
Service is Uh-​MAY-​JING! Seriously… I think the lady’s name is Sonia. She’s this really nice and super friendly Korean lady. She has this motherly aura that surrounds her.
Her power level of niceness is probably at 100 (out of 100)
And as maxed out her niceness level is… her power level of professional skills in hemming, dry cleaning, alterations is… 1,000,000 (out of 100).yeah… out of 100.
That’s how much confidence I have in her. She’s good. Trust me.
I would actually be surprised if you weren’t satisfied with this place…
I’ll probably come here for awhile, until I move to wherever my job takes me.

I have been a customer of their original store on Palos Verdes Blvd and Sepulveda for over 25 years. This store was recently purchased by them. They are top-​notch and very professional. Not the cheapest by any means, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

I have been a customer at Southwood Cleaners for the last 3 years. They are always so friendly and inviting. Their work is also magnificent. From simple shirts to elaborate draperies and rugs, I have never been disappointed with their services.
I would highly recommend visiting this place if you are looking for a professional cleaners.

Southwood Dry Cleaners came highly recommended for drapery alterations by an employee at Restoration Hardware in Palos Verdes. I brought one drapery panel into the shop on Saturday ¹¹⁄₁₄ and discussed the alterations in detail and at length (half an hour). I had five more of the same linen draperies and asked if she could alter all to the same length by the following Friday or at least before the Thanksgiving holiday. No problem. Four of the six draperies were dry cleaned the week before (at another location, unfortunately they did not do alterations) so only two needed dry cleaning to ensure no shrinkage before alterations. Specifically, the request was to measure the first drapery that I brought in, fold the top seven inches, cut and sew the pocket the same size as the existing pocket. I asked her not to cut the draperies at the bottom because I wanted them to match my existing draperies. I also asked if the draperies could be pinned at the top every four inches after alterations. She said no problem. I supplied the pins. She (Sonia, owner? seamstress??? questionable) quoted me $ 10.00 per drapery panel. I made a trip home and returned with the remaining five draperies. I asked Sonia NOT to just fold EACH drapery seven inches because I was not sure if the mfg length was exact. AGAIN, I asked to use the first drapery as a guide to alter the remaining five. Sonia kept repeating to me over and over again that she would cut EACH 7 inches and I said NO. I repeated AGAIN, use the first as a guide to make draperies all the same length. I can’t tell you how many times I repeated this. She assured me that she understood and that there were no problems. She showed me what she would do and we agreed. I asked her to call me if she could not complete the project or if she had any questions AT ALL before proceding. I said DO NOT CUT OR SEW if you have any questions CALL ME. Another gentleman who worked at the cleaners (Co-​owner, husband?) tried to intervene a few times (he spoke English, she spoke broken English), but she shushed him away many times not letting him speak. AGAIN, I requested she call me if she had any problems whatsoever so that I could make arrangements elsewhere. NOTE: When I returned with the five remaining draperies she RE-​QUOTED $ 20.00 a panel saying that she forgot to add in the two that need to be dry cleaned. So she doubles the price??? At that point I just wanted the job done so I negotiated a lesser price and left the draperies. Sonia called me on Friday ¹¹⁄₂₀ to say that she was about to cut all draperies from the bottom, which I specifically asked her NOT TO DO. That she had attempted to sew two from the top, ripped the stitching out several times because it wasn’t sewn straight (you can see the stitching lines where she sewed each drape six or seven times unsuccessfully). Luckily, she did not get to the other draperies. When I arrived to pick up the drapes to take them to another location I spent at least 20 minutes arguing with her to release my drapes. She wanted to keep them to continue the project. She insisted I pay for the dry cleaning and I refused. I left disappointed and angry. cannot comment on Southwood’s other services, but I cannot say enough that I would NEVER take my draperies OR ANY OTHER ARTICLE OF CLOTHING to this establishment NOT IN MY LIFETIME. There was not an option for zero stars.
