Windsor One Plumbing & Heating

I have used Windsor plumbing a few times before and was very satisfied with their services. However, Windsor now uses a sister company called ritz plumbing. I had no idea of the change until I saw the invoice. Their «new» rates are significantly higher as well. Had I known I was using a third party company, I probably would’ve used someone else. The technician told me that I might need my kitchen faucet changed out, however I am hesitant to use them again as their prices seem high.

Windsor One Plumbing and Heating has been purchased by Ritz Plumbing. I had no idea that this had occurred until I was asked to write a check to Ritz Plumbing when the technician left my house. It seems they intentionally do not advertise this fact. My experience was terrible and they attempted to con me out of $ 7,500 through fear tactics. Please read reviews for Ritz Plumbing prior to using this company.

When the DIY got a little beyond my knowledge I called these guys and they showed up as promised, completed the job on the water heater and hot water was back the same day. Thanks Scott!

Called them about a problem with my hot water heater. The person they sent was more of a trainee than a real plumber. During the conversation he said they were changing ownership, which may invalidate any previous reviews. Their guy got the water heater working, but wasn’t able to determine why, charged me $ 100 and said to call him with further problems. That lasted two days and the problem was back. He came back, took it apart again, went away with some parts, called back said needed to order a part for $ 140 and it would take two weeks. Told him just to come back and put it back together and I’d speak to landlord as to what to do. It was working when he left, stopped shortly afterward. Called Right Guys who came out promptly and diagnosed the problem in about half an hour.

Called Windsor on Christmas Eve day around noon and they were at my place 45 minutes later. Scott wasted no time and cleared out two kitchen drains. Prior to having Scott out I spoke to several plumbers who, although they were booked for the following four days, shared with me they charge $ 200 per hour. Scott charges $ 85 an hour and worked hard every minute of it. Please give Windsor and Scott a shot. They are hard working and they don’t charge $ 200 an hour just because they can.

Asked them to come give an estimate on Monday and they came out and did that. I asked them to come back the next day to do the work and they agreed. On Tuesday they called twenty minutes after the scheduled appointment time to say they couldn’t make it. We rescheduled for Wednesday. they didn’t show up. We called, they apologized, scheduled for Thursday. they didn’t show up. I still have water dripping into a bucket.

Again had need of a plumber and again had a great experience with Windsor One. They continue to be professional and responsible in all my dealings with them and my 5* review from 4 years ago is still applicable today.

Would not recommend at all. Seemed like they were trying to scam us with the phrase «if you pay cash I can deduct some $» I had to beg for a receipt which also leads me to believe that the company is not the most ethical. I tried to pay the guy once the work was done and he said he would bill me. Received a rude call early Sat morning asking for my credit card number. I told him I would pay as soon as a received a receipt. He kept insisting that I give my credit card, of course I did not. Finally did receive a receipt.

Heard what sounded like water rushing under the house. I took a quick look and saw water spraying from a copper pipe. I called Windsor plumbing this morning and they actually had someone answering the phone (not an answering machine). They worked with my schedule and met me in the afternoon. Mark fixed me right up and the cost was reasonable, especially considering these guys have to work under houses in cramped quarters with water gushing. Thanks!

I just had another plumbing crisis and again Windsor was able to stop the persistent leak. FYI — The leak was not just a slow drip, as leak implies, no, it was a FLOW. A FLOW that kept flooding my bathroom. Thank you Windsor for fixing that river so quickly and at a very reasonable price!
The reason I called Windsor in the first place was based on a previous MAJOR plumbing issue. We could not get the toilet, shower, and kitchen sink to stop backing up (ewwww) — We called two plumbers in the area, that we found on Unilocal,and neither of the plumbers could fix the problem (one at least tried). The third call was to Windsor — 3:00pm — they said they would come out within the hour to access the problem (what a night appointment? My thought… Great this will cost a fortune… But hey, I am desperate… Arrive they did and did the mystery work that plumbers do and came to us with their diagnosis. A rusted «bend» in the sewer, complicated by a tree root of some sort — Windsor said they would be back in the morning at 9:00AM to fix and replace the mystery bend. Great, I was thinking, watching (in my mind) the zeros adding up on my final bill. Morning arrives, the plumber showed up with a handful of «plumbing supplies» — the first (and only) thing I recognized was a snake… hmmmm I thought, third time I will see this tool fail! BUT NO! Windsor «snaked» that obstruction — did whatever they did and FIXED the problem! Not only did they come in the morning as promised, they fixed what the other two plumbers could not identify. They also found another minor problem that could have lead to a major problem down the road. Their price was very fair and reasonable and I highly recommend Windsor!

Unpleasant experience twice. I called them because they are close to my house and have been in the same location for years. The first time I called they set up an appointment and did not show up. As a result wasted my day from work. They eventually came by after me having to call and confirm a couple times that would not stand me up this time. They fixed the problem to their credit with my furnace.
The second experience was just awful. I called and said I have a furnace that is not turning on and asked if someone can come out to check it out. I admitted that it may be a simple fix or complex and that I had know knowledge of furnaces. The gentlemen on the phone maybe thought I was trying to get free info from him on the phone… because he said we are too busy to educate you on how to repair a furnace and hung up on me. I do not write bad reviews but he motivated me enough to do so.
I do not understand how they have been around for so long. They probably service a few large commercial clients and were too busy for my call. It was the way they handled my call that was so offensive that I will not be calling back. They probably would like if less people called.

These guys saved me twice. I came home to a river of hot steaming water filling my first floor. It was 4:50 p.m. I called, Chris came by, shut off the valve. They ended up re routing everything out of the slab. Great work, really tried hard not to damage the house, even though finding the right pipes was enormously challenging for them. The second time, my kitchen sink sprayed all over my feet. Windsor sent some
one out the next morning. Bada bing. Job done.

Crooks! Horrible Service! Poor Ethics!!!
Called Windsor one, in the morning, when they first opened… stated they would arrived within the hour. After two hours I called, and they stated they would be here within 2 hours! Long story short, I wasted all day waiting and it took 6 hours… no courtesy call or apology.
The job took 10 minutes and they wanted to charge me $ 98!!! We only needed a tall ladder to change the battery (we provided) for our fire alarm. The plumber said, it would only be $ 80, if I had cash.
I wanted to use them, because they are local… I will not make this mistake again, and don’t recommend that anyone reading this does either!

Apparently Windsor One is not willing to give a free estimate, in spite of us having been a customer for the past several years. We live close by, so it’s not as if it is a big deal to swing over here for a quick check of our minor problem, yet they insist on charging us just to come over.
This is just bad business.

We had a leak in our kitchen sink – something related to our garbage disposal. I found Windsor here on Unilocal: it was local and 4-​stars, so I gave them a shot.
Never again.
While they were kind enough to reschedule our appointment within 36 hours of the first time I booked, that was probably the last nice thing I’d be able to say about them.
The plumber was chatty in the inappropriate way – asking awkward questions about the electronics in the house and the living situation. Things you just don’t talk about, in my opinion.
After the appointment, I called in my credit card from the East Coast; it was a challenge to say the least. I am known to speak fast, but I think I had to repeat the number four times to get it right.
I thought the matter was resolved, until my landlord sent a text saying that they had contacted HIM to settle payment. Because of the poor experience thus far, I thought it might be Windsor attempting to double dip. In reality, that same man who I gave the credit card to had shredded my information. A simple mistake, yes, but incredibly annoying to resolve as I had to repeat the process of providing this guy with my payment information.
If you want someone to fix your plumbing problems, Windsor would in all likelihood get it done. However, they’ll probably send you an incredibly inconsiderate and overly chatty plumber to do it, and then mess up your billing.
You can find many plumbers in South Bay to fix your problems. Don’t go to this one.

The GE 40 gallon water tank decided to break on a late Friday afternoon. I called Windsor One and spoke with Sam. On the phone, he was able to give a pretty accurate diagnosis (cheap Home Depot GE water heater with a broken thermal coupler = pilot light won’t stay on = no hot water) Luckily, Sam was available and showed up within 2 hours.
The problem was indeed the broken thermal coupler. It took a little while to replace the part, but he was courteous, professional and seemed pretty knowledgeable about water heaters. The cost for the replacement was $ 150 which is comparable to the other plumbers in the area.

The only reason why I am giving them a 2 star is because I had prior experience with Windsor and the technician, Chris, was very helpful in fixing my kitchen sink. Thus this review is based on the office personnel.
Giving that I had used them before, I called Windsor again to install a new toilet. I called midweek to schedule an appointment. I was told the earliest they have available is Saturday early afternoon. By 4pm, I realized they were not coming and I called the office (several times) before I was able to get a person on the line. The man explained to me that they had a VERY busy day filled with «emergencies». The man apologized and said he would get someone out Sunday morning at 10a. Well, I should have known what was coming next. I called at 11am and spoke to someone in the office who had NO knowledge of anyone coming over to my house. There was also a very rude man yelling in the background.
Bottomline…This business is disrespectful of customers time. I would NOT recommend them!!!

One of the best experiences I’ve had. It was a troublesome issue dealing with plumbing problems but Windsor made everything quick & stress free.
I had a clogged kitchen sync that my property plumber couldn’t handle. In less than an hour an employee from Windsor had everything up & running for just $ 95.

OK, first you have to love the surfing plumber logo. Super cool.
We needed an emergency replacement for our water heater as it sprung a leak on Friday and we had no hot water. Chris came out on a Saturday morning to check it out, gave us a quote and got to work right away. We had a new water heater installed after lunch. Chris and his assistant were very friendly and were attentive to keeping our house neat. Even my dog liked them!
I was worried that I’d end up paying a lot given the circumstances, but the price was fair and they were really easy to deal with.
We’ll definitely use Windsor One for any other plumbing needs.

Let me start with, Unilocal did it’s job.
I’ve been in the area for 5 years and just recently needed a plumber because my water heater had stopped working. Having no idea where to start, I went to Unilocal and contacted Windsor One Plumbing and they completely EXCEEDED my expectations. They came to my house immediately after I had contacted them, assessed the problem and identified that it was a tripped vapor sensor. After making several phone calls to find a replacement part, Chris the plumber, let me know that he had located one part (the last one in our region) and was on his way to pick it up in Corona so that I could have hot water as soon as possible!
