A & K Gutter Cleaning

I love when I’m pleasantly surprised by the good in people or their work ethics. This is a crazy time of the year for gutter cleaning and Michael came out today to give me a quote despite the busy season. As it turns out, it’s not gutter problems but roof issues. Michael and his crew were kind enough to take pictures of the roof problems for me as well as suggest who is best qualified to repair them. His honesty, speed, and communication regarding the circumstance rocked. Thank you Michael! When I do have gutter cleaning needs or problems, I will definitely call you back.

How can a gutter cleaning company have so many 5 star reviews? Easy. These guys are awesome. I read the 1 star review. I think you can safely ignore it. These guys do exactly what they say and do it well. Mike is easy to work with and is very conscientious. He is my go to guy for gutter cleaning.

Michael responded the day I called 3 vendors for bids (big rains coming), knowing the gutters of our newly-​acquired home were filled with silt, leaves, moss, & other gump; as well as damaged and separated from roof in one section. He offered an appointment the next day (Saturday). Showed up on time, climbed on the roof to look at every gutter and downspout. Offered a reasonable price to both fix what was broken and clean all gutters.
Michael did everything expeditiously and with explanations or advice where needed. He had offered to replace the old clogged downspout filters but, after completing the other work, he decided not to sell us the new ones because we might well not need them; wait and see, before incurring that cost. Highly ethical.
We will be using Michael’s services in future, and we recommend him without hesitation to all.

But in my case, I have learned to draw some limits, and this is where A & K Gutters came in. They are simply awesome.
Say you have decent health insurance and a decent ladder, but. Say your partner isn’t an actual mountain goat. Say your partner is, instead, a giant klutz who works indoors for a living. Say you live in drought country, with that sun beating down as you do every outdoor task. Don’t waste your weekend wibbling about whether or not to call a professional. Just call A & K, and don’t go up on the roof. Don’t let your — bless their hearts — adorably clumsy non-​tradesworker partners go up on the roof. Distract your beloved with a YouTube video and call A & K.
When I called, Michael was super upfront and honest with me about how long it would take, what it would cost, and when he would arrive. He quoted me $ 100 (way lower than an emergency room copay) for my small, one-​story house. We worked out that I didn’t need/​want to be home during the experience, and even though I WAS home, I didn’t notice he had even come! Three glorious hours early! Really? That’s unheard of.
The only evidence of his visit was a business card in my mailbox, a puddle under every downspout, and a bunch of gloriously empty gutters (okay, okay, I got on the ladder for two seconds to take a photo). We spoke on the phone later on and he answered my previous question about the roof condition and he was very honest with me again about not needing more service up there than semiannually. What a great experience — thank you folks for keeping my chiropractic visits low this year!

Saw all the positive reviews on Unilocal so I gave this service a try. He did a great job at a fair price. I will recommend him to my extended family and will use again.

The two men came exactly when they had promised and did an extremely thorough job of cleaning my gutters. Two of the downspouts were filled with roots which required, what was probably unanticipated, additional work. Service with a smile.

Called and received next day service on a super busy stormy weekend. Michael returned my call right away and scheduled a service prior to an up coming storm that I new would cause damage if my gutters were not cleaned out. Did a fantastic job and billed me a very reasonable price. i would highly recommend A & G Gutter for your gutter cleaning. Very professional and high standard of customer service. Be very wary of using this company. I called them among along with other vendors to get bids for gutter cleaning. While they were quite responsive and able to come out while I was at work to provide a bid, I learned that they went ahead and cleaned the gutters without my okay.
They proceeded to call and ask for their payment and I tried to reason with them that I was looking for bids only and maybe needed to clean them since selling the house. I told him that I would look to pay him if roof repair was required to sell. This turned out to be not the case and now threatening me with a lawsuit for a $ 250 «cleaning» fee. To reason with him I asked if he would split the cost and call it a misunderstanding, but to no avail.
Talk about customer service, doing work without a verbal or written contract, and charging the customer or sue them.

Michael is very pleasant and easy to work with. He did a great job, showed up on time and billed me. I highly recommend.

I don’t know much about roof-​tops, but I’m pretty sure they’re not supposed to have foliage growing out of them unless they’re specifically designed as «garden rooftops.» Our house was sporting the weedy fringe look when we moved in, and well, that sort of seemed like the wrong look. (Even gutters have standards!)
When you’re new to ladders and being on top of two-​story buildings, sometimes it’s best just to let the professionals handle it.
Fortunately, we lucked out and found a true professional on our first attempt at looking. Michael has now cleaned our entire gutter system and roof twice (including unclogging and reattaching downspouts as needed). We are thrilled with his pleasant demeanor, efficient and thorough work, and very reasonable rates. ($ 125 – 150 for the whole shebang).
Our roof is all clean-​shaven again and can hold it’s head up high, gutters and all!
