A2 Smog Center Test

I wonder if management has changed because my experience was 5 star, really. Ere is the owner and smog tech. He advertised $ 29.95 on signage plus certificate fee ((about $ 8.25, same price everywhere). No upsell. Fast service. I was so pleased I brought in our second car which was also due for a smog check. He does oil changes too, but doesnt pitch them. I asked for a quote on a Mobil 1 oil change and it was $ 10 less than I paid normally. He did a very careful job: put some oil on the filter seal, didn’t over torque the drain plug, ran engine briefly to fill new filter. Topped off to exactly the full mark, no over or under filling. Used genuine Mobil 1 from brand new plastic bottles. Checked for leaks when finished. I was 100% satisfied.
The bad prior reviews are puzzling. I recommend this place. Low price, careful service. Nice guy. I see his website is advertising a $ 21.95 coupon special. I didn’t try this. $ 29.95 is a good price and I got what he was advertising on his street facing signs. Maybe people experienced a bad time trying to get coupon prices. I had a pleasant experience. No scam, no upsell no problems at all.

A scam. The guy will try every possible way to trick you into paying him many extra $$$.

This guy continues to post an $ 18.75 rate on the internet but everyone else is at least 50% above that so I don’t believe it. Be careful and please post if you actually do get a smog check done for $ 18.75.

I went here based on google reviews… and I’m pretty sure I experienced better. I went Saturday morning and was delighted to see there was 0 wait. The guy took me right away. It’s right across from Starbucks, so even if I did have to wait, it wouldn’t be too painful. The guy was pretty friendly but the cost is what sucks: $ 60… not including the $ 8 certificate and $ 3 electronic transfer fee and etc. = $ 70! I’m not sure about the going rate for a smog check but I’m pretty sure I paid for the no wait.

Negative 100 stars! I showed up today because the front page of their website says$ 18.75 for a smog. I drove over there and waited for 40 minutes while the other people who were there before me finished. The shady smog guy told me that it was 40 $ to smog my car. When I told him it said $ 18.75 on his website he got mad and told me to go somewhere else unless I wanted to pay the 40 $. WTF !!! So I waited for 40 minutes only to find out that the shady mofo is falsely advertising his smogs. Needless to say I went to the place down the street.
