Dr. Brian W. Fong is a Bay Area native born in Redwood City, California, raised in Foster City and a graduate of San Mateo High School. After receiving his B.S. in Physiological Science from the University of California at Los Angeles, he went on to get his dental degree at Temple University in Philadelphia. He has been practicing in the Bay Area since 2002 and specializes in preventative dentistry, whole body/​oral health wellness, complex multidisciplinary restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Brian W. Fong has grown his private practice in Redwood City by incorporating the latest in dental technology, the highest quality materials, and the most advanced techniques into his practice. As the son of two educators, he has shown a commitment to furthering his knowledge through thousands of additional hours of continuing education and advanced hands on training from Dr. Frank Spear, the world’s preeminent educator in restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Fong and his staff are great. Organized, friendly, informative and very efficient office. I love they’re email reminders and text messages. makes it much easier to schedule and keep an appointment. Dr. Fong was very informative, answered all my questions and concerns. I was so nervous but he makes you feel welcome and comfortable.
I have had lots of dental work in the past and i am sure will still need more. Looking forward to more visits with this awesome team. Location is very easy, close to el camino and Caltrain.

As always Dr Fong and staff are exceptionally fast, friendly and helpful. Always a good experience coming here. I’ve had 3 fillings, a deep cleaning and many other general cleanings. I’m always in and out quicker than expected with little waiting.

Dr. Fong and his staff are the absolute best. They are always timely, and accommodate when I am a few minutes late. I sometimes am late because I live about 50 miles away… yes I used to work close by but changed jobs. I will not change my dentist, and would rather drive the extra miles. Dr. Fong is attentive, very knowledgeable and shares that with you, and he gives you options. I have never had a poor experience there ever… and his staff is excellent as well.

Dr. Fong and the entire staff are incredibly skilled, kind, efficient, and thorough. I really appreciate that everyone takes the time to listen to my needs and concerns. This office is so organized. When I make an appointment, I know exactly what is going to happen, how long it’s going to take, and if I’ll be numb or not. Dr. Fong never runs back and forth between patients. While I was waiting for the anesthesia (which didn’t hurt at all) to kick in, he waited around and chatted with me. He answered all my weird teeth questions. I’ve never had a dentist spend such a long time just chatting.
The appointments are always right on time, and the front desk people are awesome and so nice.
And they give you a Jamba Juice gift card if you get numb!

I had a great first experience at Dr. Fong’s office. The office was neat and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, and Dr. Fong seemed really knowledgeable. The front office staff seemed really organized and they were really great about sending lots of reminders about my appointment. The dental assistant seemed to be really concerned about making sure I was comfortable while getting the x rays done of my teeth which was really sweet. My hygienist, Emily spent extra time on a deep cleaning since it had been a while since I had been in for a cleaning. She did an amazing job and was so thorough. I would definitely recommend this office to all my friends and family. The only thing I didn’t love was that it was tricky to find street parking so I was worried about having to move my car during my appointment. Other than that everything was fabulous!

Going to Dr. Fong’s office has been an eye opening experience. I’ve learned all about the importance of preventative dental care. They take the time to explain the why behind the what which has helped me become more diligent with my at home care. I also feel that they are more concerned with the overall health of my teeth and not just trying to upsell me on the latest treatment which is something I’ve experienced with other dentists in the past. Everyone on the staff is friendly and very personable. I also like that I can do all my communication online or via email. It makes it easier for me to manage my appointments.

I started going to Dr. Fong several years ago because I was unhappy with the care I was receiving at my previous dentist. I thoroughly researched dentists in the San Mateo area and decided on Dr. Fong. I am so happy I did! I have receding gums and sensitive teeth. He and his staff have put me on a regiment that has stopped the gum recession so that it has not progressed any further. I wish I had known about interproximal brushes years ago. Dr. Fong is calm, reassuring and professional. His appointments run on time and he has state of the art equipment. He and his team are professional and caring, from hygienists to the office staff, I wish I could give more stars!

I went through a spell (8 years) with no dental insurance so I was obviously nervous for my return to the world of hygiene. I chose this place because of the Unilocal reviews and I wasn’t disappointed.
The hygienists are kind and gentle. They are probably a little more expensive than other places but it is well worth it if you are at all nervous about going to the dentist. I have been going there for seven years and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I would highly recommend Dr Fong and team. I’ve moved around a lot (this is the 11th place I’ve lived) so have had many dentists. I’d always had «perfect» teeth until I hit age 40 and then I was not getting as glowing reviews any longer. I started seeing Dr Fong and team a couple of years ago and he gave me a plan to get my teeth healthy again. I did everything he recommended and it WORKED. It involved removing a couple of wisdom teeth, getting some deep cleanings, and changing some habits but the results are based on measurements so are undeniable. The office staff is also incredibly good with reminders and at working with insurance — they are very tenacious and persistent with insurance companies, and they really go above and beyond in a way I have not seen at any other dentist.

I had a chipped front tooth fixed by Dr. Fong. The entire experience was easy and friendly, from scheduling, to check-​in, to procedure, to payment. I especially appreciated the time Dr. Fong and his assistant Jesus spent answering my questions. Dr. Fong’s office appears to run very efficiently and on-​time, yet I also felt that he spent as much time as I wanted to address my concerns. Finally, the quality of the tooth repair was excellent. I cannot even tell where the original tooth ends and the reconstruction begins.

Dr. Fong and staff are excellent. They always run on time and everyone is super friendly. Both hygienists are very thorough. I feel like they are always looking out for my best interests with suggestions on how I can improve my home care. Dr. Fong also has the best equipment. He has a really fantastic state-​of-​the-​art office. It really shows that he cares deeply about his office, his staff and his patients. I send all my friends to him.

I switched to Dr. Fong about two years ago from the Palo Alto Dental Group when my long time dentist there retired, and the replacement I got there was NOT okay. Best move ever!
Everything about Dr. Fong and his office staff is great… he’s the PERFECT dentist. His office is extremely well run, and check-​in, check-​out, and insurance billing are all carefree. There’s a very pleasant waiting area with plenty of magazines and even a nice fireplace!
I’ve had three hygienists since I started there, and they are all great. I needed a lot of work that my other dentist should have told me about, and Dr. Fong did a great job replacing old fillings and with putting in a couple of crowns. Excellent work! My choppers and gums are in the best shape they’ve been in years.
In conclusion: «Go to Dr. Fong, and you’ll be singing’ a happy song!»

I have been going to Dr. Fong for at least 5 years. He takes very good care of my teeth and makes the best recommendations. What I love most about him, is the fact that he takes special care and time with me because he knows that I have anxiety and panic disorder. Before Dr. Fong, I was terrified of having any dental procedures done so I showed up with a mouth full of cavities! So here I am 3 crowns, 3 root canals, and many fillings later, and I am VERY happy with my dentist! I wouldn’t trust my mouth to any other…

«I can’t wait for my next dental appt»… said no one ever, except me.
Who likes going to the dentist anyways? If I have to go, which I do religiously for all my checkups, there’s no other office I’d rather go to than Dr. Fong’s.
Dr. Fong is amazing– not only does he know his stuff, his delivery is pretty on point as well. He doesn’t make you feel guilty for not flossing, but he does tell you the dire consequences on your gums and oral health if you don’t (pleading the 5th here on if I ever received such lecture or not). The fact that he’s a UCLA Bruin makes him extra cool.
All the dental assistants and hygenists are super nice and awesome as well. I mainly see Erika, and she makes the visit fun by making sure she’s explaining what’s going on as she’s in my mouth as well as engaging in small talk. The amazing thing is, she remember the small talk we made from the previous visit… makes for a pretty funny conversation when we catch up a couple times a year.
Besides the knowledgeable & professional service, the icing on the cake here is also the genuine and flawless customer service. I only see these people a couple times a year and they always make me feel very comfortable and at ease… not such an easy task while sitting in a dental office.
I also recently opted to have a teeth whitening procedure, the latest and greatest 30 min in office option– it was awesome. So quick and painless, and now my teeth are 4 shades whiter… see —- :D
We all know choosing a dentist is difficult, and 1800 Dentist ads aren’t that convincing, so check out Dr. Fong’s office, I bet after a 5 minute conversation with him you’ll be convinced he’s the dentist for you.

I started coming to Dr. Brian Fong a year ago, and I could not be happier with my decision to do so. His facility is top notch, with TVs set up over all the examining chairs so that you can watch whatever you like while they work on your teeth.
The staff is helpful and courteous. I am always greeted in a friendly manner and treated well while I’m there.
The hygenists do a fantastic job. They check my gum depths every time I visit and genuinely care about me and my teeth. They even take the effort to remember details about me for conversation between visits!
Dr. Fong is courteous, helpful, and very pleasant. Most importantly, under his care, my teeth have never been healthier!

This is solely on making an emergency appt for a friend.
The staff was very professional and very accommodating. We called at 10am, and they were ready for us to come in at 11am. The receptionist said she had to move some things around to accomodate us.
Great job – super friendly staff.
I didn’t get my teeth done here, so I can’t vouch for quality on the teeth; Quality on service and appt are awesome!!!
