A group of us bid on a donation from Encore performance for a dinner for twenty people.
Dave and his staff were wonderful. The food was all delicious. All was professional, punctual and well organized — especially since the dinner was booked on the most rainy nights ever.

Dave was highly recommended by a friend who he catered a casual dinner party for 30 guests. She was very pleased and wanted to spread the word about his catering services. Dave helped me to plan a served dinner for 16 work colleagues. Dave is a truly genuine person who is passionate about his business. He is easy going and offered many options. He took care of everything — food, rentals (table/​chairs, linens, dinnerware), and flowers. We had passed appetizers which included crab cakes, seared ahi tuna, melon and prosciutto, and mushroom tarte. We had a beautiful green salad with fruit, goat cheese, and nuts. For the main course, Chef Nathan prepared braised beef short ribs, roasted fall vegetables, and mashed potatoes. Dessert included coffee and a decadent chocolate cake. All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the delicious food and how wonderful the servers were. Our dinner party was a huge success thanks to Dave and his staff whom I really enjoyed getting to know. They worked out of our kitchen and left it spotless afterwards. I hired Encore Performance Catering for the neighborhood organization. Dave and his staff are professional, punctual, very organized and personable, they will put your mind at ease before and throughout the event. Dave was prompt and professional when we met for the initial planning meeting and he explained the extensive menu thoroughly. I felt at ease right away. Dave is open minded and straightforward, and is willing to consult on special diet menus or challenging situations as well. I am very happy with Dave and his staff’s thorough and caring services. Dave and his staff are pros! The food for my husband’s 60^th birthday party was all beautifully presented and delicious. We had salmon, chicken and tri-​tip with wonderful appetizers beforehand and salads accompanying the main course, followed by small desserts. Dave helped me find the perfect musician to enhance the event. The set up and tear down was so smooth that I hardly noticed it was happening and they left the place clean which is a big plus. I highly recommend Encore Performance Catering and look forward to our next part already!

Dave is the consummate professional. My non profit, in coordination with a professional group, coordinated to have Encore Performance Catering handle small finger foods and dessert for a fundraiser crowd of 65 people. He knocked it out of the park; not only was Dave flexible and easy to communicate with (VERY KEY), he was prompt, friendly, and delivered excellent tasting food. I would definitely use his services again.

I recently coordinated an event for my work place where we used Encore Performance Catering services. Dave is phenomenal!!! He was so easy to work with and so flexible meeting our needs. He was very reassuring and followed up on all the details. On the day of the event, Dave and his staff arrived early and like a well-​oiled machine they were set up and ready in no time. Dave is a true professional in his craft, he made sure all of the last minute details were attended to and all of our needs were met.
His staff was AMAZING! They were all friendly, smiling and truly seemed to care about their work. They were very welcoming and very attentive to everyone’s needs. The setup was very clean and easy to follow. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent.
At the conclusion of our event, Dave made sure all of the guests were taken care of and just like magic Dave and his staff quietly disappeared and the room was left spotless. Encore Performance is absolutely top notch. We hired them recently to cater our wedding vow renewal at a local winery and they were more than we could ever have hoped for. Dave is extremely professional and delivers only perfection and ultimate quality in food and service. Their food was exquisitely beautiful and incredibly delicious. We had bacon scallops, stuffed mushrooms, lamb lollipops, fruit and cheese spread, green and tortellini salad, paella, rosemary dijon chicken, and mushroom cous cous. All were wonderful. They arrived way ahead of time and had everything prepared and ready to go. Dave was there to oversee the preparation and presentation. His servers were warm and welcoming and took care of anything that was needed immediately. My guests commented throughout the event on how delicious the food was. Lucky for us we were able to take some of the paella home for dinner throughout the week to remind us of how special the day was — much of that contributed by Dave and his EPC staff. Thank you for making this day as amazing as it was. We will absolutely use EPC next time we host a catered event. Keep up the great work!

Dave and Nina made my party an incredible success. About a week before the party I realized I couldn’t manage alone. Dave was timely, professional, and so easy to work with. My guests raved about everything and since the party was still in high gear at the end of the contracted time, Dave and Nina quietly straightened as much as they could and slipped out without sending the message that the party was over – and we went on partying! Dave and Nina came back the next morning and within minutes efficiently cleaned up everything. I recommend Encore Performance highly and I wouldn’t hesitate to have Dave cater my next event, whatever it would be!

EPC was a great team to work with and pulled off our party with class. We had a 50^th Birthday party for my wife in September 2014 in Redwood City and Dave’s team made the event very hassle free for me as a host. The guests all commented on how pleasant the servers were and how they made them feel special without drawing attention to themselves. We had the party at our home and they left the place spotless. Dave helped me design a menu for the evening and the food was delicious. It was great to hire a customer focused, local business. Thanks Dave.

I recently attended an afternoon cocktail party that was catered by Encore Performance Catering. What a delightful surprise to find a fabulous arrangement of vegetarian appetizers. The layered guacamole dip was amazing and the bruschetta the best I have ever had. It was so fresh and had just the right seasonings. He also had the best mushrooms in puff pastry. A wonderful bar service was provided and the staff was so friendly and engaging. The owner, Dave Hyman, did a tremendous job and I recommend him highly. I will definitely use him in the future when I need a caterer.

Shout out to Dave Hyman, owner of Encore Performance Catering, and his staff. I attended several events this year (surprise party and a Celebration of Life) catered by Dave and I want to recommend his company for your future catering needs. His chicken piccata melts in your mouth… the tortellini with sun dried tomatoes and artichoke is delicious… Oh and my favorite appetizer is the bacon wrapped dates… omg! Yum. highly recommend this unexpectedly delicious treat. His staff was very attentive to all the guests and kept our tables clean so we can indulge in more… like the fresh berries and the most delicious brownies I have ever eaten! Job well done guys… encore! Bravo! Haven’t Unilocaled In a while but my recent great experience with Encore reminded me that it’s time to get back on and share my experiences again.

Dave and his team did a phenomenal job catering my grandfather’s memorial service. The Encore Performance team was polite, courteous, and best of all… the food was to die for (be sure and ask about the teriyaki meatballs). I can’t recommend these guys enough!

I sat numb with sorrow as I tried to plan a Memorial Service Reception for my beloved Mom’s funeral. It was the strong yet gentle guidance of Dave that got me through the meeting. Well, that, and his legendary brownies! My cousin had used Encore Performance for her Mom’s celebration of Life just a few months earlier. I was sad at my Aunt’s reception, too. But those brownies must be sprinkled with «Happy Dust», because there were more smiles than tears. Dave & his warm, professional crew did a super job. We had twenty plus more attendees than expected, but everyone was fed and we even had some leftovers! I highly recommend the crab cakes. And as for those brownies…

Our Thanksgiving/​Hanukkah dinner a few weeks ago went amazingly well, and I’m very thankful to Dave for helping me to pull it off.
We had a fairly large group of 19. I enjoy cooking, and usually make the turkey and several other dishes for Thanksgiving. But this year some family crises arose during the weeks leading up to the holidays. I was feeling stressed but still wanted to host the dinner and enjoy some time with our cousins. After all, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah will never coincide again in our lifetimes! I realized that I’d have to outsource more of the cooking this year. So I looked on Unilocal and found Encore. I left Dave a message and he called me back very promptly. I asked if he could drop off two turkeys, gravy and stuffing for us. I was so relieved that he said yes! He was making Thanksgiving dinner for his own family, but was happy to cook for us, too.
Dave delivered the food on time and still hot: two moist and tender turkeys (one carved as I had requested), a giant tray of stuffing, generous amounts of gravy and cranberry sauce… and he added some very delicious, rich mashed potatoes as a bonus! He brought the food in an insulated warming box about the size of a dorm fridge. He was very friendly and had me taste everything to make sure I liked it. It was all better than I could have hoped! I kept everything in the warming box until we were ready to eat.
Meanwhile, I had plenty of time to get the house ready, make potato latkes and bake a couple other side dishes and pies in the oven without worrying about the turkey. Other guests brought salad and side dishes too, so it turned out to be an amazing feast. Everyone raved about the food– especially the turkey and the mashed potatoes!
In the midst of a very difficult season, Thanksgiving was a bright spot for our family. I was so relieved and happy that the dinner turned out well and that we were able to enjoy a low-​stress feast with our loved ones. I’m grateful for Dave’s delicious cooking and his excellent service, and will definitely call him again when the need arises.

Wow. Dave rocks! When I needed food for displaced residents, I called Dave. His salad, fresh vegetable trays and fantastic homemade chili oh yeh .ask for the Chili and his bacon wrapped almond stuffed dates.yumm.great food great service. I will definitely use encore performance catering again .and again

I called Dave on a Monday after my best friend’s son passed away the previous Thursday. This was the first time I had been directly involved in the planning of a Celebration of Life event (I feel quite fortunate for that). At any rate, the memorial was to be held that coming Saturday so it was short notice. Luckily Dave had availability and was ready to help. He was helpful above and beyond the catering aspect — providing details regarding a COL event that I would have never thought of. Thank you for that!
The day of the event he and his team arrived early and prepared. They worked quickly to set everything up and made sure I was happy with the arrangement. During the COL they made sure that the food was fresh, replenished and the tables were cleared once people were finished. There was so much food left over he helped set it aside for my friend to take back to her house. Oh… and I should mention that the food was really good!
This was a very difficult time for my friend and her family. Dave really helped to make it less stressful. Thank you so much!

Nothing but nice things to say about Dave, his planning and suggestions. His input helped me provide a quality event on short notice — and the hype on the food was well deserved. I had utter faith in Dave’s quality, but I was pleasantly surprised by his presentation and marketing of his events (should not be since the marketing director is well known in my company). He was a pleasure and his pride in his Celebration of Life events is outstanding… Thanks Again for making it look so easy, when I know it wasn’t!

Dave has done about 10 events for me and I never fail to get raves from the attendees
He serves terrific menues, he arrives on time, serves a delicious variety of food, & leaves with all cleaned up. He has great attention to variety and taste and provides a beautiful presentation as well. His brownies are to die for.
