I have a large concrete driveway between 12 apartment units in San Mateo that was in real need of replacement. This was a fairly large project as we had to shut down the parking area, notify all the occupants of what was going on, deal with multiple City permits, etc.
Working with Tom and Dennis — this job could not have gone more smoothly. I believe the key attribute was the communication that they provided — I never felt as if I did not know what was going on — they were always there to answer my questions. Whether it was how to run the underground drain lines, concrete cure times, or details on the permit process they were always very responsive to all involved.
They cleaned up their work after each and every day and stayed on schedule — we even had compliments from some of our occupants on how they went out of their way to help them and answer any questions.
Their pricing was fair — we obtained several quotations and they were in-​line. In fact — Peninsula Concrete did some additional work that was not on the contract (they ran electrical piping for the underground drainage in case we ever needed it) at no cost.
Highly recommended and professional — I will be using them again.

So I NEVER write reviews, but I felt this review was worth the effort. I have ben going through a remodel for over 14 months now that has had one problem after another. I was certain getting the garage slab, driveway and sidewalk work done would be just another hassle… I was wrong. Dealing with Peninsula Concrete has been an absolute pleasure. They provided a timely and competitive estimate, explained all of the options, provided numerous job references, made meaningful design suggestions, and held my hand through the whole process. They were extremely flexible and accommodating to schedule changes. They showed up on time, had a professional crew, did an excellent job throughout the project and cleaned the job site very well. They were even understanding when I was forced to split my job to do the slab work first and the remainder a month later. All of the work came out as promised and is flawless. Best experience over this entire remodel project. Well done!

Peninsula Contractors removed our original 1948 single car driveway, widened it enough for 2 cars, added some walking paths, all with concrete pavers. They also widened the approach to fit the new width. Everything was done to code and the way we wanted it. The job was done in 1 week. Thanks to Tom, everything went smoothly. Tom answered our many questions and gave us daily updates. We love our new driveway. Thank you, Peninsula Contractors!

I had new hardscape installed — customized concrete with connecticut bluestone borders — in the front and back of my house. They had to demo and remove existing concrete in the back and side of my house as well.
Bar none, this was the best experience I’ve had working with a contractor. The quality of their work is great. They started and finished on schedule and within budget. They are responsive and collaborative throughout. There were 3 different crews involved in my project — and all of them were responsive and easy to work with. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I had a yard and driveway of dirt and base rock after another company just could not get the job done correctly. In fact, I had to personally dig out a place to park my car when the other company had «finished». I called Peninsula Concrete to come out to finish the driveway portion of my yard. In fact, they did not agree to do my project until they knew that they could do it well. The previous company had left some odd design choices that had to be rectified. Peninsula figured out what had to be done, completed the asphalt, driveway approach, and installed pavers in my driveway. Tom and his group were professional and polite and communicated well. They had competitive pricing and completed the job in the agreed upon timeline. I recommend them and would hire them again.

Tom and Dennis are awesome. They removed a huge amount of dirt and rocks from my backyard and replaced it with concrete. They responded to my calls/​emails quickly and did a great job. They even referred me to a landscaper who put in a small area of grass. Their crew also did a great job cleaning up the area as well as secured the area when they were done working for the day. If you go with Peninsula Concrete, you will be in good hands.

Had driveway, driveway approach and some walkway in the rear of the house replaced.
Dennis (owner) & Tom (estimates) do a great job over there. They were organized, motivated and a pleasure to work with. 3 days to do all of the work, all of the insurance paperwork is absolutely in order and the crew they brought out were very pleasant folks to speak with and treated my house with care.
The price was in the mid-​range of quotes for all of the contractors that I spoke with, that’s fine with me.
If you are looking for a trustworthy concrete contractor with no drama, fair upfront pricing and no babysitting needed: These are your guys.

I hired the Peninsula Concrete Contractors to put up concrete curvy curb for my house in July. Tom was my main contact for the project from begin to end and he was exceptionally pleasant to work with. The work was performed in a timely fashion and we love our new curb! A few highlights:
1. A roofing project at my home was seriously delayed and it overlapped with our scheduled time for the curb work. Tom talked with the roofing company and made sure the curb project started on time, without affecting the roofing work.
2. The work was completed nicely according to city requirements and got the inspection passed right away!
3. I noticed a drain cap was missing next to the new curb work and called Tom. He arranged someone to put a new cap in a timely fashion.

We called several landscape contractors to remove our front yard, including a driveway, two walkways, plants and the yard. Dennis and his crew were incredibly easy to work with from the onset until completion. Dennis was punctual, listened well and made good recommendations. Tom, one of Dennis’s partners, worked with the city to get the job going in what ended up being a seamless process.
Dennis’s crew, led by Jose, was punctual, efficient, hard working and exacting in their work. We replaced the concrete driveways and walkway with pavers. The project took just over a week. The workmanship was exacting. If we had any concern, Jose and his crew were on it and had it fixed to perfect standards. We are very happy with our front yard and the work Dennis and his crew did and would recommend them without reservations.

We contracted with the PC team to put a 300sq foot stamped concrete patio in our backyard.
The whole process went very smoothly. The team showed up timely for the estimate, and were able to turn it around quite quickly.
The quality of work and follow through was all very good. The stamping and texture, as well as color, came out as advertised.

I chose Peninsula Concrete after receiving three bids for a two-​part project to replace a driveway approach and the garage floor at my house in Redwood City. My garage floor had significant cracking and the driveway approach was too steep in order for me to pull into my driveway without scraping the bottom of my car.
Tom and Dennis were super responsive and efficient from bid through completion. The work took parts of three days, and I was kept up to date at each step of the process. Everything came out as expected, and it looks great. I had a few neighbors comment on the quality of the work — both the end result as well as how they worked.
I’d certainly recommend Peninsula to anyone seeking out similar work.

Peninsula Concrete replaced my cracked, uneven, weathered driveway and a short section of walkway with broom finish concrete with brick boarders.
The work was performed exactly on schedule! Every aspect of the job went smoothly; from demolition, framing, concrete pour to the brick finish. The crew was punctual, worked efficiently and cleaned up the work site every day. I couldn’t be happier with the end result. It is exactly what we wanted.
The work is top notch. I watched the brick accent work and the workers were true craftsmen. Every brick is evenly spaced and perfectly level with the surrounding concrete.
Dennis was an absolute joy to work with. His communication was excellent and he was incredibly helpful. Seriously, he’s one of the best contractors I’ve worked with in the 20 years I’ve owned this house.

Dennis Turchet and his team came and tore out my entire patio, driveway, and entryway… dropped the front of my house 3 feet, installed new posts and transformed my HOME with CalStone QUARRY Stone Pavers. I got bids from everyone and DENNIS beat them all– next time you are driving down Whipple Ave in Redwood City @ Iris look to the Edgewood Park side– Peninsula Concrete’s work looks MAGNIFICENT !!
