For three decades Studio S Broadway has been offering professional dance training to children ages two through teens and adults. Beginning, intermediate, advanced and professional level classes are offered in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Acrobats. We provide a non-​competitive, family-​oriented and flexible environment where dancers can thrive.

Our mission is to ensure that every student gets individualized attention and is recognized for their talent and effort. We recognize the fact that each dancer has her/​his unique style of dance and we are committed to creating an environment where all of our students and teachers have the chance to succeed.

History

Established in 1979.

Studio S Broadway was founded in 1979 by Barbara and Stan Silverstein. Barbara is a known professional dancer and choreographer in the Bay Area. Their 3 children (Professional Dancers, Singers, Actors and Gymnasts) Pam, Debbie and Shari began teaching with six students and 3 classes. With their passion and drive, the studio now has hundreds of students over 30 years later with many happy dancers. Studio S Broadway was started with the vision of creating an environment where all dancers have an opportunity to grow and flourish.

Many of the Studio S Broadway students have gone on to further their dance careers in Movies, Commercials, Videos, Broadway, Foley Artists, Models, Singers, Professional Cheerleaders, Dance Teachers and Owners

Their daughter Shari (Silverstein) McLeod is the director and choreographer of the studio which includes the professional Studio S Broadway Entertainment Company.

Business Owner

Shari McLeod trained in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and has traveled around the world and back to share her talents and experiences with us. She has taught Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, directed and choreographed for 34 years at Studio S Broadway. Shari choreographed for the «World Cup Soccer U.S.A.,» choreographing the Opening Ceremonies. Just back from The Super Bowl in Miami, Shari choreographed a show for recording artist Arielle Paige during Fan Fest, which includes her hit video and song, «Money Don’t Make a Difference.» Besides Shari’s many years of dancing, singing, acting and modeling she has worked with Chita Rivera in «Anything Goes,» John Carradine in «Brigadoon and starred as Mona Kent in «Dames at Sea.» Her gift of benefit shows include Parker G Foundation for C.O.T.A., Filoli Estates for Child Abuse, Olive Crest Foundation for Child Abuse, Ronald McDonald House, Stanford Hospital, Sequoia Hospital, Belmont Convalescent Hospital, Woodside Convalescent Hospital.
