We offer smaller dance classes by some of the best dance instructors in New York City. With smaller classes, your dancers get more individualized attention. We are not an expensive competition school. We offer strong dance classes, emphasizing technique and execution. We offer one dance recital annually, an opportunity for your dancer to build confidence, great posture, and understanding of what dance class can benefit a child into all other fields of study. And watch how their grades go up as they learn their dances! So come join in the fun!

History

Established in 1974.

The Dancesource was formerly Ballet Arts School of Forest Hills, and merged with The Dancesource in 2006. The DanceSource has been in the Forest Hills/​Rego Park community since 1996. We are now recognized as one of the strongest ballet dance schools in the area.

Meet the Business Owner

Dianna P.

Business Owner

Dianna Petty is from Oregon, where she trained in Dance at University of Oregon. She then went on to UCLA in Los Angeles, and attained a M.A. in Theater Arts — Producer’s Program, and an M.F.A. in Dance/​Choreography. Dianna worked as a Company Manager for Joffrey II Dancers, Cornerstone Theater Company, and other smaller companies through the 1980s. She then went to work for JPMorganChase, and worked in Corporate Banking as an Implementation Specialist for 12 years, until 2009. Dianna has managed The Dancesource since 1997, and we moved into its current location in 2006. We are pleased to offer you a selection of dance styles for all ages, by some of NY’s most professional dance instructors.
