Pretty Woman Nails and More

Came here to get my nails done on a weekend. I was accommodated within about 20 minutes, which was nice since weekends are busy. Eventually I sat down in the back to get started on my pedicure. The woman had an attitude from the get-​go, so I was immediately turned off. She asked me to put my feet in the water before filing, which was weird. I asked her if she was going to file first, but she just went, «no, no, it’s okay». At that moment her friend came in with her boyfriend to have the woman who was doing my nails take a look at a foot infection. She completely stopped servicing me and ignored me to the point that the water almost reached my pants and I had the ask the woman at the chair next to me to turn it off. The woman who was supposed to be doing my pedicure proceeded to squeeze pus from a wound on the woman’s toe as I sat back in disgust. Eventually the woman leaves and she turns to begin my pedicure, when I physically recoil and ask her if she’s planning on washing her hands first. The nail lady at the chair next to me looks at me like I’m a cunt from hell, and my girl starts going, «no, no! I didn’t even touch!». This despite the fact that I physically watched her squeeze pus from someone foot. She obliged and began my pedicure. A million people began coming in and complaining that they had appointments and were not being serviced. Every single table was booked so she painted my nails awkwardly at the pedicure chair. Manicure and pedicure came out decent, surprisingly, though this was the worst nail experience I’ve ever had.

I have been going to Pretty Woman since last September after quitting another nail salon on 67^th drive, off Queens Blvd. (horrible experiences). Since Pretty Woman, my experience has been nothing but positive. My nails have never looked better since Alana has been taking care of them; both Bella and Maria do fantastic pedicures; Rita is fabulous with hair; and threading has been introduced into my life! I always make appointments with the ladies because they are so popular. I live just around the corner, so aside from all the terrific services, it is so convenient… thank you Pretty Woman!

I have, been coming here for 15 years. The place is beautiful clean. Lana is fabulous and so is the rest of her staff. Prices, are reasonable. Lana, always, tries to accommodate her customers. I strongly recommend this nail salon.

Where do I begin?
I just moved to this area and I was a bit apprehensive about finding a new salon… after searching on Unilocal for quite some time, I stumbled upon Pretty Woman Nails.
This was an amazing experience. I have never been so pleased with my nails. They look better than ever before. Lana is an exceptional nail artist. She was the so kind and sweet; the rest of the team was also incredibly kind. Lana not only did an amazing job on my nails, but she helped give me ideas on them and taught me a bit about a better way to get them done to keep my nails healthier: gel acrylic.
The salon was very clean and cozy.
The prices were incredible, especially considering how amazing the work they do is. An acrylic fill was only $ 21. What a steal!
I will be awaiting my next appointment in two weeks.
I am so happy to have found my new favorite salon.

This is my new go to place! Lana and Eater took amazing care to the details in making my feet and hands look perfect! I have been to other places in the area and they make you feel like they are rushing you out but not here! They took the time to make sure I was comfortable and happy with how my nails turned out! I was a bit spectacle to come here after reading reviews but since I am new to the area I figured let’s give it a try. My experience was wonderful, there was no wait, and Bella did a magnificent job.
The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars was for pricing. I’m naturally from Long Island and pay $ 20 for a gel manicure back at home. I have no issues paying more money however the website and the pamphlets in the salon have the wrong pricing. I was charged for a Shellac gel manicure (when I just wanted plain gel) And there is also a soaking fee? I’ve never heard of such a thing.
Needless to say my experience was still great. And I would probably come back.

The customer service here is impeccable. Lena, the owner, stayed after hours to give me a full body wax… talk about dedication. I was a brand new customer who never had a Brazilian and she was quick, efficient and very tender. The spa is very clean, they have every Essie color you can imagine, they offer a full array of services and they’re 2 blocks from the train.
I set an appointment for European Wax Center, which would have ran me $ 180 for a brazilian, full leg and underarm. My roommate referred me to Lena. Turns out that 2 of his past female roommates, over a 3 year period, ranted and raved about Lena and her waxes. She has just made a loyal customer and I will be sending many referrals and friends to her!

Yaffa is literally the best manicurist ever. We are very happy with her service. Make sure you tip well. She deserves it.

My daughter’s first nail spa! She loves it — she was hesitant but once she met the staff she was so relaxed — they treated so well and now can’t wait to go back again!

I was skeptical at first as I was a dedicated patron to my local Brooklyn esthetician that I love, but after moving to the neighborhood I figured I should try a local spot. I must say I was very impressed. Lana was the fastest I’ve ever had for a wax and she was very thorough and friendly. The place seems very clean and handled calls and appointments well as I called an hour before coming to check availability and was so glad they could fit me in. Prices are great and staff seem to be as well. I will definitely be coming back.

Pretty Woman is clean and most of the women are very friendly. the mani/​pedi prices are good and it’s conveniently located.

Pretty woman is the place to be! You come and it feels like your local community nail salon! The people are hospitable, funny, and family like!
They always aim to please their costumers, you never walk out feeling like money was wasted!, as they have so many options you can’t go wrong!

I know the owner, Lana for about 20 years. Prior to opening this salon she worked in NYC and I visited her weekly for years and followed her when she moved. We lost touch years ago, but I recently found her again and was thrilled that her salon is near relatives. I live in Westchester and now come and visit Lana and her talented team at Pretty Women whenever possible. It may seem like a little neighborhood nail salon, but Lana is a talented and experienced skin care expert and the best waxer I have ever experienced. I was also pleasantly surprised to meet Rita and get the best haircut I have had in years. I have had tons of bad and expensive haircuts in Westchester… Check it out… I wish they were closer to where I live, but totally willing to drive an hour or more to get there.

Coming back happy customer. Fahina takes good care of my feet and now I began come back for my hair as well.
Rita is spectacular, not only she listens, but has valid input and great technique. My husband uses her services as well.

The only place I go to in queens! Been going here for years and they haven’t let me down. Especially Maria and her sister. They are the best!

I just have to say ive been coming here for a fews and I love how Alana takes care of my nails and how Rita takes care of my hair. Yes, they are Russian and speak Russian, but they do speak English and are Very attentive and considerate. Ill recommend my spot to any woman who wants nails and hair done, EXACTLY how they want it done. And not get robbed by high end nail and hair salons that do what they want and not consider what you,(the client) want…

I totally DISAGREE with these negative comments. I have been coming to this nail salon from day one when Lana opened her doors. The people that work there are friendly, professional and most important there work is amazing. Clean and everything is sterilized.
I recommend this salon and Lana keep up the good work

It is great place to do your nails. I have recently had my french manicure and highlights done last week. They have done an excellent job for a reasonable price. They have treated me correctly and fast. The Hairdresser was a professional and knows what she is doing. My hair wasn’t damaged. And she made my highlights just the way i like it. Nails were done in the finest form and all have been straight.

On a quest to find a nearby hair salon where I could get a cheap blow-​out before the gala Mike and I attended a couple wks ago, I gave Pretty Woman a try. While going to this salon was far from a luxurious experience, Rita gave me precisely the hairstyle I wanted for the big night – basically Kate Middleton waves except with a lot of volume. She was also very knowledgeable about styling curly hair and just seemed to be very sweet.
Please note that they do not take credit cards for hair services, a policy which confused me but will not necessarily deter me from coming back.

I’ve been here quite a few times. I used to go here whenever I need a haircut. Yes, it’s a Russian owned salon, but Yafa, the hair stylist speaks English well with a Russian accent. Sometimes she does my hair really well, and then there are times when I’m a little disappointed with it. I don’t blame her though. It’s hard to explain hair in general. And of course, it’s best to have a hair stylist who has similar taste to the customer’s preferences.
What I do notice about her is that the price for haircuts tend to fluctuate. For the most part, she would charge you whatever she feels like charging. One visit I may be charged $ 25, and another time I may be charged $ 30.
