Warning! Staff speaks very limited English — So, find a Russian — or better yet, find a Bukharian friend to take you. This place is «Manic» — sometimes the food is exceptional, sometimes the food is less than exceptional. Service is poor. But, stepping into this place is like taking a Trans-Atlantic Flight to Uzbekistan. This is one, if not my favorite place in Forest Hills/Rego Park. Its Kosher. .. . Trust me. .. .. Food is delicious. Keep it simple, don’t be a shmuck and make things complicated. Skewers of meet are awesome & the bread is even better. Probably the best bread in Queens — Baked fresh constantly. Closed on Shabbos — Make sure you bring cash; Credit Cards aren’t welcomed &ATM’s are scarce. This is a must if you are visiting the neighborhood or new to the nieghborhood. Screw it, I’m giving this pace 5 Stars — Because my Dad even loved this place. Again — Its best if you bring a «Russian Speaking Friend» — You will enjoy!

Was there today for dinner and was very disappointed. Everything I ordered today was just bad(not tasty) — lamb shish-kabob, samsa, bread, and the salad. Usually it is good but today everything was just bad. The only thing that was good today was Snapple and chicken kabob. Very disappointed.

I’ve been going to this place for over 10 yrs now. About 12 yrs ago when it was a small bakery where people just come mainly for the bread it was amazing. The food was outstanding and the service was pretty Okay. Fast forward to 2015, prices are sky high. Lagman is $ 9 when the rest of the world is charging $ 5 or 6. I figured, maybe the food is so good that it’s worth the extra $ you pay. But no dice. Similar food, but smaller portions. Ordered lamb ribs and got 2 ribs and 2 pieces of lamb, not ribs. Why not just say you don’t have ribs to begin with? We got gypped with the higher price for the ribs. Fries were mediocre and Lagman was not as tasty as it was years ago. What happened to Tandoori?

So yummy, I love this place! I usually get take out and the only reason I don’t give them 5 stars is because there is always something they don’t do right — My husband is very very VERY sensitive to onions and we will order in both English and Russian to make sure they understand and we still get onion on our kebab and in our salad. I blame the cook more for that tho because we do see the guy enter no onion in the computer. The food is so good tho I have to keep going back, I’ll pick out the onions

I don’t think this restaurant deserves a rating under 4 stars. Love their lamb kebabs and pilaf.!the food tastes so much better than the other«higher end«restaurant on 63rd dr. Tandoori is Definitely a neighborhood gem:) just one note that they automatically add in a service charge on your bill. Just take that into consideration when you give out tips

They make there own bread in the back from what I here but it’s Same every where Good here. Fresh Salad nothing special and neither is the plov. But you come here for the stuff at the top and in going ti cone back for sure.

Good food, great service, excellent prices. Started with the vegetable soup with meat and noodles, delicious. Large loaf of bread and hummus nice. Then came the parade of meats on skewers, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Highlight was a roasted tomato, it tasted like a steak. The servers did not speak a word of English, but that added to the experience. I would go back here next time i am in Rego Park.

Best Bukharran restaurant in the city. Delicious(but fatty) kabobs, great lagman soup, and other Bukharran favorites. Only suggestion is to bring someone who speaks Russian. Not all of the waitresses speak English.

So glad that I dropped in to this inconspicuous restaurant. Me and the lady have passed by a few times to notice the huge families dining… Something that initially deterred us from going. But the restaurant welcomed us in an avuncular manner that ensured we would return. After dining twice, I have to say that this is a gem. This place is family owned, family friendly, and full of family recipes. The Lagman and Borsch soups were perfect during this winter freeze. Delicious and hearty, these two soups are a must have. The Lagman is filled with delicious bits of meat(beef) and homemade noodles. The Borsch is better than the Polish versions you find in Greenpoint. Next up, the Hanum and Manty dumplings. Man, I have day dreams about these delicious, chewy, comforting bundles. Hanum is filled with potatoes while Their Manty has the most savory lamb and onion filling. The Manty are worth the trip alone. I promise! A must for any dumpling lover. Lastly, we devoured an order of Pilav that consisted of full flavored rice, carrots, beef and lamb. Incredible and delicious. We also enjoyed some of the kabobs of lamb and chicken. Incredible flavor and perfectly grilled. Go already! This post really doesn’t do this place justice. The staff are quiet but super nice. At first we felt out if place, but after the first bites, the staff knew we were hooked and were nothing but happy we joined them for dinner. Kosher is the way to go. I’m a believer. The menu is deep and has a lot of variety that is sure to keep us coming back. Maybe one day soon, we’ll enjoy the breads that apparently are a must. In the meantime, get out to Rego Park for this legit Kosher House!

I’ve been here a few times with my family. The service is actually repulsive but I guess you don’t go here for that. you’re supposed to ignore that and just enjoy the food. That being said, the food is pretty damn good. I’ve had the luleh(delicious), the liver(delicious), the bread(addictive), the israeli salad(great salad), and the fries(amazing). I love it all! Especially the fries! They are the best fries I have ever had. My stomach is growling now thinking of those fries. The prices are super cheap but when since each skewer is 2 – 3 bucks and you keep ordering your check might end up being really high so watch out for that. The restaurant isn’t that spacious. It’s two different rooms, one of which is typically reserved for large parties. The décor isn’t anything special and the ambiance is pretty much for locales. You will see bukharian families, old drunk men, young drunk men, and random people eating by themselves.
