I can’t really review this place because I needed change for the parking meter, but the clerk refused to give me 4 quarters for a dollar. Smart decision.

This liquor store has stood the test of time and has been around, seemingly, forever. The owner, Victor, is cool and knowledgable guy, who knows his liquor. I like coming here because its always open when i need it. Its that ‘bail out«liquor store right before you go to your in laws on New Years Eve and you cannot go empty handed. So you wisen up, go inside and purchase a fine bottle of GLENLIVET, aged 12 years.(True story. lol). Great selection. And if you need a case for the bottle, they accommodate you. Grab some booze for the in-laws!

I saw that they got some new sake so I tried them! Tenryo koshu is absolutely the best sake ever! It’s an aged sake and the highest class. of sake. So smooth! I’ve never tried this kind of Sake before. I was so shocked! You all should try this too.

This is an a magical place, especially for those who need to buy wine and don’t know a thing, like me. Mark listens to my vague explanation of what I’m cooking or what I like or friends like AND he always gets it right! I bring his suggestions to parties and people ask«where did you get that wine». Mark has made me so confident that I go to him for suggestion for my year-end business gifts. Mark is very considerate and helps you stick to your budget.

This is a small liquor store on Queens Blvd, but the shelves are well stocked(and w/some great stuff that’s very hard to find), and the owner is knowledgeable and friendly too. He’s turned us on to great wine, vodka, and bourbon. I always go to Mark, when I need to find something great for a lunch or party I have to go to. There are several liquor stores in the neighborhood, including Empire a few blocks east, but this is my go-to place for recommendations and help also. Mark also gets things on request and has sold us wine by the case a few times too. This is exactly why local, small businesses can be great to go to. Excellent on all levels.

Some good wines, but poor customer service by the«friendly clerk who knows his stuff.» Many(I’d say most) of the wines are overpriced, maybe because it is one of the only liquor stores in the area. «You paid for convenience,» that fella would say. And the $ 30 minimum charge when you pay with a debit or credit card is a negative con for consumers who don’t have cash available and are trying to save some money in this tough economy spending less. Definitely, Dotoevsky would prefer to bring his spirits from Manhattan to the former Soviet satellite state…

When I want to hit the hard stuff, I go to the Trylon, a tiny liquor store in the former Soviet satellite state we call Rego Park. If Dostoevsky were alive and he lived in Rego Park he would go to the Trylon too. He would go there because he would know that the Trylon got it’s namesake from an enormous triangular phallic structure exhibited at the 1939 World’s Fair. He would also know about the choice selection Russian vodka, and friendly clerk who knows his stuff. What more could you want? A fat white cat that wants to be left alone just like you? The Trylon has that too.

My Mom used to send me there with a note to buy her booze when she was too«happy» to go herself. Wait, didn’t your Mom do that too? …Hmmm.
