This place is amazing. I could have spent the whole day here but didn’t plan well enough. I had to drag my husband away from the tasting. The tour was amazing. I didn’t know much about brewing beer but still found it very interesting and fun. Like the other reviewers said it was fun, not boring and just long enough. I spent some $$$ in the gift shop that had a great collection of everything. The T-shirts are good quality and picked up some coffee mugs too that I love. We did not go to the food truck because we had dinner reservations at Chesapeake & Maine, their new restaurant in town which was fantastic. The fun part is always the tasting which is free! I’m used to paying when i wine taste so this was a nice surprise. I have done lots of brew tasting and am used to paying. My husband is now a big fan of Dogfish beer. They have amazing people that work there. I wished we lived closer!

Went with a group of 7 friends. Did not get to try the 4 sample beer because my Driver ID is expired. Lady said if I look like I’m 50, she might of let me go, but since I don’t she did not give me a stamp. She was clearly discriminating by saying I do not look like I’m 50, so she did not need my ID, she was only judging by how old she thinks I look. Worst. The lady also snitched to her coworkers at the bar to make sure not to give me any drinks. She made me feel embarrassed and I felt totally uncomfortable with the whole experience. Even though, my friends offered to let me try their drinks, I told them no. The bartender then stated they are not allowed to let me try their drinks. The brewery is nicely designed, although the tour was free, we could not understand anything the guide was saying because she was mumbling the whole time. At least, it was a nice day out and local farmer’s market in the area. Was going to buy some beer home, but decided not to because I felt too embarrassed when the lady at the front called me out like that. Oh well. Always other places to visit. Not like they are the only brewery in town.

Sample were a good size with a large selection to choose from. Tour guide was informative and kept it interesting. There were kids in the tour group and the guide made it fun for the kids and explained the business side and the science side. Production facility was very impressive. Will attend again if I’m in the area.

My husband and I visited the brewery with friends last weekend. We took a mid-afternoon tour, which lasted a little over an hour. From what we understood, the tours fill up quickly, but the 4 of us walked in and made it on to the list for the next available tour(15 – 20 minute wait). When putting our names on the list, the hostess gave each of us a «tasting card» to bring to the bartenders, who could then use it to keep track of the 4 free samples included in the tour(two brews were standard, two were of your choosing). Since we had time to kill, we used our cards for tasting before the tour and held on to them to finish our sampling afterwards. We were all very pleased with the tour, and our tour guide, who was extremely knowledgeable and upbeat. The first part of the tour was a history of Dogfish Head, but the rest was a walk through the brewery. The tour guide presented with running commentary throughout the walk, but he was charismatic and kept your attention the whole time. There was plenty of «audience participation» and he was open to questions along the way. Overall, this tour guide received a 10⁄10 in my book. Attached to the tasting room is a small retail store with beer, hats, shirts, etc. A food truck is parked outside of the building, offering a limited menu, but I recommend taking a short drive down to their brew pub restaurant — excellent! **My husband and I enjoy visiting breweries, and we have been to a plethora of them along the East Coast. Some breweries are better than others. Dogfish Head is towards the top of our list!(And you can’t go wrong with their beer — a staple in our household!)

Free beer samples, free tour. You really can’t go wrong with that. Yeah, the tour can get long-winded at times, but considering that Dogfish Head provides the pregame, overall a fun & different afternoon! If you’re looking for munchies post-brewery tour, the foodtruck outside offers fresh-made clam chowder & brats that are reasonably priced & delicious.

I decided to go here on a whim while my partner and I were in Rehoboth. I’m blown away. First of all, it’s free. You receive tastings and a tour on the house. If you want additional samples there’s a few dollars. You can also buy pints and growlers. GROWLERS!!! The tour fills up VERY fast so get there before they open so you can be put on the list. I am a craft beer fan but had never really tried anything but IPA’s from Dogfish. I’m not an IPA fan. So this gave me a chance to delve into other offerings that I ended up loving like Namaste and Birra Etrusca Bronze. The story behind Dogfish Head is absolutely fascinating and I’m really Glad Sam was able to bring his dream to life.

Super fun brewery and tour. Our tour guide Danny was awesome. Knew so much about all of it and we learned a lot. The tasting room is way to small for the volume of people they attract, but it wasn’t unmanageable. The staff all seem to absolutely love their jobs which is awesome and makes the experience better for the consumer. The food truck was fun, sandwiches were great. The one issue I have is the kids. It’s a brewery. Not a playground. There needs to be stricter rules about kids being there. There’s no reason to be sitting at the bar next to a new born in a baby bjorn I mean. It’s just awful. It’s a BAR. It’s a BREWERY. Not chuckie cheese.

Didn’t get a chance to go on the tour, very busy schedule that fills up quickly. The best advice was, can you come back early tomorrow because the back up line was 30 people long. The taproom was PACKED! Some of the bar tenders were in way over their head. They needed double the staff to keep up with the patrons pouring in the doors. The merchandise was cool, they had beers, clothes, leashes and collars as well as bocce kits and other cool items to buy. I plan on coming back soon on a weekday morning and trying again for the tour, then I will update my review.

First of all… it’s free, including the tastings after the tour! Having been on numerous tours around the world, this is the *only* one I have been on that was free, and frankly, Dogfish Head is one of the best«mainstream» craft breweries around. I just don’t get whiney reviews complaining about a free tour where they actually give you free beer, and excellent DFH beer at that — some people should stick to their couches & their bud light… Anyway, on the several occasions I’ve been here the staff have been super friendly, interesting, knowledgeable and by all accounts they love working there(although it is not too hard to understand why!). Many of them are actually brewers in their own right. As a brewer who is also familiar with the DFH history, I still find it interesting and to see what’s new at the brewery. DFH is innovative and has always put quality ahead of trying to be cheap. The owner, Sam Calagione, is an inspirational guy(I highly recommend some of his books). The tasting room and the general surroundings is «off-centered» quirky but extremely well done. There’s even a treehouse that was ex Burning Man art. I applaud any business that can grow to their size while still remaining«small» in attitude. Go check it out & be prepared for some take home supplies(and for making a beeline to the brewpub in Rehoboth Beach!)

Went on a Saturday It was kinda crowded so we had to wait 45 minutes for a tour. No big deal cause they let u have ur drinks before. And after ur free samples you can buy drinks. Now time for ur hour and a half tour. All I gotta say is «I gotta pee» And now I’m a little tipsy. Tour is long winded and a bit boring. I kinda think our tour guide was secretly in love with the owner. And he was a guy. Did I mention I had to pee?

I LOVE Dogfish Head so this is totally biased in that respect. They have a treehouse from Burning Man festival out front and bocce courts-very creative and unique, fitting with their slogan«off centered beers for off centered people». Before the tour we did the tasting where you get 4 free samples to taste. I really liked the Midas Touch and the Namaste. We did the tour afterwards as we had about a 2 hour wait. We also grabbed a snack at the cart. He had a 60 min soaked chicken sausage with blueberry sauce and I had the 60 min hopped pickles. Very tasty! The tour was very informative and interesting. Our tour guide was from Pittsburgh actually so we had a good time talking to him about that. He was excellent by the way too. We stocked up on some 60 min hopped pickles, hoodies, and sausages in the gift shop area to take home with us too. I wish we lived closer to go here regularly as this was truly an awesome experience!

Went here for a tasting/tour and was not disappointed! The facility is huge, modern, clean, and interesting to tour. We had about an hour wait from the time we arrived but filled that time with tasting the four samples(FREE!), trying a bratwurst from Bunyon’s Lunchbox, and doing a little shopping in the store. We went on a Monday and it was crowded but an hour wait was fine for us. We had been on brewery tours before and it’s usually about 45 mins-1 hr with some interesting background on the company, the beers they make, etc. We were on the tour for 1 hr 45 mins. and were kept interested the entire time! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, interesting to listen to, and encouraged questions. We spent maybe 45 minutes in the room with the 5 vats where the tour guide went over the background of DogFish and the founder, Sam. She showed us the vats of beer and the original devices Sam used to make his beer. We then went to where the beer fermented and she asked some trivia questions. For the final 30 – 45 minutes(which was optional) she took us up the hill to the brand new and gorgeous bottling/packing facility. We saw punkin beer getting bottled and packed to be sent out. This tour was free and definitely exceeded expectations! Great way to spend an afternoon and then go to the beach! The Brewery is maybe 15 – 20 minutes from the BrewPub which I also recommend! I’m sure the tours get crowded on the weekend but we had a great experience!

As someone not a huge fan of IPA, especially Dogfish Head’s common offerings, I was worried I wouldn’t find much here. However, the huge draft list had many more varieties that I knew Dogfish Head made, and I found a bunch of brews made for me. The Desert Sage was a little spicy and tasty while the Firefly Ale had a nice floral taste and hit the spot sitting in the sun. The service was excellent and not only found us a dog friendly seat outside, but also brought water and kept checking in our or dog. The food was also very good and went beyond the typical brew pub faire. The fried pickle spears were coated in a substantial breading and cake with a delicious horseradish mayo. The pizza is made from spent grain from the brewery and the crust was excellent. The sloppy Joe was also phenomenal and the bread and fries were superb. Great place, it actually has me considering vacationing in Rehoboth just to spend a night here and try the whole beer list.

Came here Saturday with my girlfriend for the 1:30pm tour. It was fairly busy(St. Patrick’s Day weekend and all), but we were able to get good a parking space and easily move about inside. First off, the whole entire facility is beautiful. They’re really setting a standard for craft beers in my mind now. The fact that the tour and tasting is free is great. Bunyan’s Lunchbox really hit the spot with the bratwursts. The tour itself is very informational and I did feel like I actually learned some things. I really couldn’t say enough great things about this place! I’m looking forward to coming back and taking the tour again.

Wanted to visit the Brewery for our Anniversary but they were having a sold out event, great news they were able to accommodate us! The brewery was as stellar as the beer. This tour and brewery is must see!

We were in Rehoboth last weekend for a staycation getaway and made it a point to find the brewery and see what it was all about. On a previous trip we had eaten at their restaurant at the beach and the waitress told us we had to go to the brewery so we did. It is seriously tucked away in a cute small town in a residential section but then you turn the corner and much like seeing Oz for the first time we beheld the giant brewery. First of all it is a lovely design and the super cool steam punk treehouse and bocce courts outside set the perfect fun, industrial, creative tone. Full disclosure we did not do the tour(we have done lots of brewery tours and get the basic concepts) we were much more interested in the tasting rooms and activities going on within. You are given a bottle label and instructed to pick 4 beers, you get to sample those four beers for free. Choose wisely :) My husband and I always share so we got to basically try eight but it took forever to do so. We were there at 1 on a Saturday and the place was packed(shocking) I bet in the warmer months it is even more so. There was no real instructions for where to go so we just waited in a line about four deep until it was our turn. The whole tasting start to finish took about an hour(trying to get refills, attention, explanations, etc). That is actually the only reason I gave it four stars, just the chaos and all the giant tall lumberjack looking beer drinkers kind of jostling to get in front of you made me a little anxious. Once we finished the tasting and picked the pints we wanted(very reasonable about $ 5 bucks a pint) we went outside in the sun and played bocce which we love. Courts are def. not regulation but we had a blast, we even met some fun Canadians and challenged them to a game. They had a food truck but we did not get anything from it, the consensus was the food took awhile to get, and one of the Canadians had a pretty severe reaction to a jalapeño peppered pickle. I was happy with my beer and the sun and bocce. It was a lovely trip next time I would maybe come a little earlier? Try to get a seat and a pint and avoid the rush. I bet in the summer they do lots of fun activities and festivals as well so that would be worth checking out. Cheers!

The tour is simple and educational, do not expect to see a completely operational brewing process if you go on a weekend. My suggestion: Go early, eat lunch from the cart, try your samples, then take the tour. By the time your tour is over you will be ready to head to the beach for the brewpub. One confusing thing, the tour guide went out of his way to tell us to ask the servers at the brewpub which beer/food pairings they recommend. Our server and her manager had no idea what we were talking about. The store didn’t have anything unique that couldn’t be found at a DE liquor store or online. Anything unique available to taste was not available to go.

I had to register for the tour months in advance — they didn’t even check my ticket when I arrived. The tour itself was simple and educational. If you’re a true DFH fan, you will appreciate the experience. The samples at the end were the highlight of course; I liked browsing their souvenir shop. Their t-shirts are good quality and reasonably priced.
