Not the place to go if you’re on a time limit. We were seated at 6:30 and it took ten minutes just for someone to come by and even ask what we wanted to drink. We got our appetizers very soon after we ordered them, however we overheard the table to our left tell an employee that they had been seated for an hour before us and did not yet get their appetizers! This heavily worried us considering we were seeing a play at 7:30. After about ten minutes, that same table got their appetizers and soon left, not even staying for the main course. We got the rest of our food at 7:25, just asked for the check immediately, and ate our food as fast as barbarians. Thankfully our server was very polite, often apologizing for the wait. Do not get me wrong, the food was incredible. Their fries are absolutely killer, actually. The service is the thing that drives me away from that

Food was really good(snow crab legs, baked Brie plate, quesadilla). Service was really slow(waiter had way too many tables for one person). Atmosphere is awesome! 4.5 stars for food, 1 for service.

I had a fun time here and enjoyed the atmosphere. The DJ was a real downer. He clearly was biased during karaōke and let the same people sing which was a bummer. Could have had a much better time but he ruined it.

Do not come here expecting a restaurant dining experience. It is a very loud, very drunk beach bar that just so happens to have a menu. It’s chaotic and disorganized– we had to wander around and ask three different waiters for help before we got seated. Most people here are not eating food– they’re socializing, and drinking heavily, and yelling like rowdy teens. If that’s your scene then great but this is not the place for you if you just want to sit and eat a meal. 3 stars because the food wasn’t bad.

Don’t listen to the whining, bitching complainers above/below, this place is great. At least it was for us on a lazy summery Saturday afternoon when it wasn’t crowded. The food was FABULOUS: prime rib sandwich and crab cake sandwich, the service was friendly and the manager came over and shot the bull with us about a lot of things including that Unilocal unfortunately is often for whiners. Forget it. We will be back. Two big thumbs up.

LOVE this place. I come here every time I visit Rehoboth/Dewey with my friends from college because we are obsessed. The atmosphere is great, the service is always fast, so sweet and fun. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. I would recommend the pulled pork or ANYTHING with crab in it honestly. Their lump crab is top notch! Delicious.

I have been coming to the Parrot for the karaōke/dancing for years. I recently went back with a group of friends and I must say the new DJ is awful. Doesn’t get involved with the crowd like the one from so many prior summers, Sea Shell. He also seems to let the same people go again and again, when there are others waiting their turn. Definitely not impressed and don’t plan on going back while he is there. He was also extremely rude to one of the people I was with.

Nothing to write home about. Thought we would try a new place to eat while in town. Was not overly impressed.

This place was pretty terrible for breakfast. The coffee resembled tea and tasted like dirty dish water. We asked for a replacement cup and it was just as bad. The server was inattentive and forgot parts of our order. Orange juice from concentrate and poorly cooked eggs. There have to be far better places for eggs and bacon in this town. We also waited for the check for well over 20 minutes… asked the server twice, two hosts and the bus-person and still slow. Pass it up. Trust me.

i was there for 3 other women for drinks and food. Our server from Tim. When we paid our bill we have him the money for ALL the bills plus a tip. He came back to our table and told us WE did not tip him enough!!! We all were in shock and we said are you sure because I know we all counted the money a few times because we all were pitching in on the bill. We ended up giving him more money but I think it was shady and he never gave us any receipts.

Always a great time!!! The vibe is very friendly. It’s the type of place that if you walk in alone you will have made at least two to three friends before you cash out. The food is delicious and plentiful. All the bartenders are hot and know how to pour a mean drink. I LOVETHEPARROT

DONOTGOHERE! I would give zero stars if possible. Not only did my friend find a HAIR in her food, I also found not one, but TWOHAIRS in my meal! It was disgusting. Thankfully, they took the meal off our bill and brought out a new one, but what I ordered turned out to not even be tasty, and the finding of hairs completely ruined my appetite. I got the crab and shrimp roll sandwich, the seafood wasn’t good and the bread was way too thick and tasted stale. On top of that, we were practically eating in a narrow alleyway– wobbly table in between two buildings, terrible lighting. The only good thing I can say was that the service was pretty good and the server we had was incredibly sweet and super apologetic about the hairs in the food. Unfortunately I won’t be going back ever again.

Fun summertime vacation spot. I actually enjoy the food. It’s just basic. But a good basic. Nothing fancy. The people and atmosphere are fun. Good drinks. And the evening karaōke can be fun(if you don’t mind terrible singing). I’ve had brunch, lunch, and dinner here – always satisfied.

You suck! Bottom line! We have been coming here for years and tonight was unacceptable. We had a London citizen with us — current license and all. They stopped eight of us from coming in saying she’s ‘not from America’. Are you kidding me??? She had a valid ID and was so sweet and is adorable — btw! This place is too backwards to see beyond their own black and white rules. If an ID is valid and a group of people(who have been there 1000 times before) seem legit — you need to be reasonable. Just because she’s not a US Citizen does not make her a criminal. Btw — we want to Statboard and The Big Chill today with no issues. Only Purple Parrot decided to be this strict.

We get down to RB several times a year, and the Parrot has always been a solid go-go for drinks and bar food. It always feels beachy, even in the dead of winter, and their Happy Hour is a deal. My wife and I have had multiple margaritas and wings and the bill was under $ 20. Nice. And the Jamaican Jerk Wings with a side of buffalo sauce reminds us of the great wings at Schooner Wharf in Key West. So, we are still shaking our heads after our abbreviated visit there yesterday. We were in RB for my birthday with my wife, two sons, and our oldest son’s girlfriend, and headed in for Parrot drinks and apps. There was no one at the hostess stand when we walked in, brutally cold day in the dead of winter, mid-afternoon, and the place wasn’t anything close to busy, so I headed up to a table that we like in the bar area. As I’m taking off my coat, I hear«sir, can I help you?» loudly bellowed in maybe the snottiest, pissiest, snarkiest tone I’ve ever witnessed. Remember that maitre d’ in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Yeah, picture that guy after someone kicked his dog and did donuts on his front lawn. I was caught off guard, as the Parrot has always seemed so laid back. So when I realized he was talking to me, I said, «uh, yeah, we’re just gonna grab some drinks and appetizers. Is that ok?» I’m standing there semi-embarrassed with everyone in the place staring at me, wondering what I did wrong. Mr. Happy didn’t say a word, and instead replied by impatiently tapping a «Please Wait to Be Seated» sign with his finger while wearing this superior look of smug annoyance that most decent, God-fearing people would likely want to hit with a brick. Really? This is how we communicate with customers? Are you a graduate of the David Spade School of Hospitality? Again, we’ve been going to the Parrot for 10+ years, and have seated ourselves in the bar area more than once, and a bartender or server just brings over menus. No biggie. Not once has anyone ever said«you know, you really need to wait to be seated in the bar area». We’re not scofflaws; we’d have listened. And that sign may well have been there since Washington crossed the Delaware, but I’ve honestly never noticed it. But folks, this is an unassuming tropically-themed bar in a small beach resort town in Delaware; not Le Meurice. However, I’d clearly gone and unwittingly committed a felony and this shining example of humanity was wearing his big boy pants that day and angling to become a finalist for the coveted Condescending Twit of the Year Award. I’d just turned 52, and I was treated like a pre-schooler. Did I make a mistake? Yeah, it seems I did. Did it warrant that kind of response? Not in any universe that I’m familiar with. He clearly doesn’t have the right temperament for the job. So I went back to his hostess stand, only to be told that we couldn’t sit at a window table in the bar area because not everyone in our party was over 21(our youngest is 20, and no, we don’t let him drink). He instead put us in the nearly empty dining area, right next to a couple with a screaming kid. Nice. It’s funny, because we have a cool family photo of ALL of us from December sitting in that same bar area for lunch! At this point, none of us wanted to stay, and we didn’t even trust it(we saw what became of the French Toast in «Roadtrip»). So we left and went up the street to Dos Locos, where the five of us sat at a window table, in the bar area – rebels that we are. Someone brought us menus, we had a great time, and spent an obscene amount of money. Will we go back to the Purple Parrot? Maybe, maybe not. From other reviews, it looks like this is guy a pretty regular black cloud in what we’ve always known as a fun place with a relaxed demeanor. Guess we’ve just gotten lucky and avoided him all this time. If you do go, and you see a skinny, older, balding guy working somewhere in the room, strongly consider moving on. Again, there’s too many other strong options in RB at any time of year to have to subject yourself to Beam Me Up Snotty’s power-trip.

Purple parrot drew us in from the street with its colorful exterior. We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and were quickly seated towards the back of the restaurant. Service was friendly but slow — not unlike most other beach towns. The brunch menu items came with a complimentary beverage(mimosas and bloody mary’s included). I had the stuffed tomato which was a large, fresh tomato split open and topped with a lobster and crab salad over a mixed green salad. The portion was huge and the seafood tasted fresh and was dressed perfectly. 5 stars for their breakfast. Docked a star for a sub par Bloody Mary. Would definitely be back — I imagine the nightlife here is pretty good.

We made an evening stop for«one last round». The place was busy, but not packed, with just one bartender. Good prices for draft beers. It’s not exactly fancy. The casual-beach-bar vibe(and open-air layout) will seem very familiar if you’ve spent much time in beach towns. We didn’t try the food.

The nicest people work here. The view of the street is great, and we love going there to see what the specials are. They seem to always have one. My favorites so far have been the prime rib sandwich for lunch, and a prime rib dinner. Guess I like their prime rib!
