Ill update my review when i try the food but this is ridiculous. No a/c, im sweating, cashier could not understand english, and everyone got their food before me, people who just walked in, i went up twice asking how much longer, 40 min i waited for food to go. People sat down and got served and left in the time it took for me top get my food. Service alone i will never go back. Omg and to update the review, i waited for THAT? GOT the enchiladas, ive had better. So disappointed, wish i would have ate somewhere else.

The first 2 times my husband and I went here it was awesome. That was about a year ago and we went back recently and it was horrible. The place smelled like sewage. The service was awful, it took them 15 minutes just to come ask us of we wanted water, another 10 minutes to order and 30 to get 2 pupusas each. There were only 4 other people in the restaurant. Very rude staff, the pupusas tasted terrible and when we went to pay the woman up front said, «don’t you want to tip?» As though she were offended we didn’t want to tip the horrible service and food. Never again, there are plenty of places to get good pupusas at that don’t smell like a porta potty.

Best place ever… My favs are the pupusas! The platanos Fritos are great too — the ladies in the back make all the food with love!

The best pupusa AND curtido in town. The Banana empanadas are so good, you’ll wish you had ice cream to pour over them! The burritos are solid good, not amazing. Just to be fair, I’d get one here over MOST places in town — then again, if I’m coming here. I’m getting Pupusas! The Seven Seas Soup is VERY good. If you like sea food soups this is one of the better ones you could get. I’ve NEVER had anything that wasn’t good from here. The prices are very fair, and the service is beyond friendly. The place has some street parking and is never super crowed. It looks like a disco in the late night hours. I wouldn’t say most people should go here late at night. I’d stick to the daylight hours. Not that this area IS dangerous but COULD be dangerous. This is my neighborhood so I’m not ripping the area, just letting you know that it’s gritty when it gets dark. Regardless when the sun is out, feel free to come down here and enjoy some of the best food on Wells.

Love this place yah the surrounding is sketchy but who cares. I came here for the food right? Yah well there’s lots of room for dancing and music is always going this little restaurant a little rhythm. The food is really good I love the Pupusas and the cola champagne . So pretty much bottom line if your looking for a spot with good food or want to try something new I’m suggesting this spot.

11÷17÷13 11:10:36PM The best place to go in my opinion, is a Mexican Salvadorian family owned restaurant, normally with a hangover you would find me in a place like this. It was nice to enjoy something new. The service was good, the price was right, the food was excellent, this is definitely the place you would like to come to after an intimate night on the town, better yet if you want to be alone in the early mornings. This place serves beer only, bottle and tap.

This is the place to have lunch on Thursdays($ 1 pupusas and good and cheap(both senses of the word) milkshakes)! All prices are low, and food is good, service and ambiance are… oh well, this is not«the great expectations»!

They certainly aren’t trying to win any points for ambiance, but the food we ordered(carnitas torta and pupusas) was awesome. The torta was pressed sort of like a pannini and some good attention was given to make sure no big chunks of fat remained in the carnitas(an attention to detail absent from some of the other cheap places). There was also a generous spoonful of fresh and flavorful guacamole with chips on the side. The papusas were hot, crispy, and moist on the inside with a generous and fresh serving of the cabbage stuff. The plaintain empanada we ordered was hot and custardy, but I wondered if the batter was supposed to be so mushy under the crispy fried outer shell. The beer selection could use some improvement. I like a more robust ale/lager(like Negra Modelo) with this kind of food. Our server(the only person in the front of the house) didn’t appear to speak much if any English, but it gave me a chance to dust off my marginal Spanish.

We left downtown, wanted a nosh before we had to go to the airport and catch a plane yesterday evening. They cooked up 4 pupusas in quick order. They were good: not too much masa on the outside of them. The décor is very simple, at that. For example, we watched a CONCACAF qualifying game on a wide screen TV with a crack in it for a few minutes. But if you want pupusas or something different, quick(if you ask for it) and cheap somewhere between downtown and the airport, Asi Es Mi Tierra is definitely an option.

Amazing fresh rellenos-made by grandma in the kitchen! We love it here, and enjoy how casual and inexpensive this authentic restaurant is. Easy to take the kids or for my husband and I to go out and have an ice cold beer and people watch. LOVE it!

Went here recently with my husband to try out the Salvadorian food they have there. When entering, we were greeted by the owner and were seated in the general dining area with menus. There was a soccer game on at the far end of the room on a massive TV. There were about 2 – 3 different families there dining at the same time and watching the game. We started out with some pupusas, which were very tasty and not greasy at all. Then I had the garlic shrimp dish. Wow, if I could bottle the broth they used and take home a large jar of it, I would. They had a large range of flavored Jarritos to choose from, and the pupusas came with a slaw that was extremely tasty. The surroundings are plain with little to no decoration, but don’t let that put you off for some of the most authentic Salvadorian food in town.

The food and the service are great here! I was not a huge fan of the tortillas but I think they were more of a «fill you up» thing. Cheap, great food, great service!

This is the best Mexican/El Salvadorian place in town by far. Like others have said it is in a shady part of town and most of the time I go there the server doesn’t speak English very well, but how can you get more authentic. Their food has so much flavor and it tastes very fresh.

Hmmm I wonder how my review is so different from the rest. This place is just sad. Such austere dour surroundings. I think the wait person was nice enough, can not really remember. The food met the surroundings, just sad.

This place takes the cake. While it may not look like much, it is seriously one of the best places in Reno. It’s good(especially the papusas), it’s cheap(you and a date both having 2 papusas, rice, beans, and sodas will be about $ 15), and the service is excellent(although your server may not speak english very well).

I had reviewed this restaurant as one of my top restaurants for Salvadorian food 5 years ago but it lost some points for me since. The pupusas are not as good anymore, seems like they don’t use the same cheese and they cook them too much, to the pint they’re almost stiff. I, however still like how the variety of food they have on their menu and how I can find things like atol and tamales de elote, those things aren’t easy to find, and they are very good. My fiancée really likes the beef stew, he says is one of the best he’s tried. The server is always very nice and attentive with us. I still continue to come here for the other food they have.

I’m happy to say this was my first Salvadoran food experience and I’m in love with pupusas! The waitress informed us that she didn’t speak very much English. Also, 98% of the menu was in Spanish. Both signs of a good Mexican restaurant(they serve Mexican and Salvadoran food), in my opinion. I had a pupusa chicharron, which is a form of pork that I’d rather not think about, but still very tasty! My husband had one with loroco; kind of plain tasting, but anything fried is good. They come with a cabbage slaw and tomato sauce. Smother away! Sidenote: 1 pupusa=$ 1.95!

I gotta tell you finding this Salvadorean/Mexican restaurant was really hard, it’s not in the best part of town, their presentation is not the best it’s actually just your average Latino restaurant but their food is excellent I tried the pupusas, tamales, they have this nice Salvadorean typical breakfast with fried plantain, cream, beans and eggs that was out of this world! IFYOUARELOOKINGFORSALVADOREANFOOD this is definitely THE place to go.
