A child’s first school experience will influence the rest of his/her life academically, socially, and emotionally. Brookfield’s The Little Campus (TLC) programs are designed to excite the young child about learning and school in a loving, safe, and compassionate environment. Our preschool program is both highly academic and developmentally appropriate.
Brookfield’s The Little Campus (TLC) programs help students in the youngest classes work on social and self help skills while developing math, phonics, early reading skills, Spanish, French, art, and fine motor skills (penmanship). We have added critical thinking skills for our youngest students! We continue to explore our world with science, cooking, outdoor large muscle play, computers, music and movement. Early mastery of reading and mathematical fluency enables children to make swift progression into more advanced subjects and at a faster rate. Young children must feel safe, secure, and loved before they can reach their full academic potential in a school setting. We meet this vital need with loving, consistent teachers, positive reinforcement, and Love and Logic guidance.
We invite you to visit and see our enthusiastic students and dedicated teachers working towards academic excellence. We invite you to see why Brookfield School has earned a well-deserved reputation as Reno’s best private school through education programs for over 30 years.
History
Established in 2003.
Brookfield School was founded in Sacramento in 1962 and opened in Reno, Nevada in 1978. Both locations continue to serve the educational needs of the community. Brookfield School in Reno is an independent, co-educational day school for 250 students in preschool through eighth grade. Brookfield School and parents have a shared vision of an academically rich and rigorous, non-denominational educational program. We have a preschool campus to serve our younger students, which was established in 2003. The Little Campus (TLC) will introduce two to five year olds to a more exciting, challenging, and fun-filled day. It is a step above the typical preschool curriculum, and with 12 years of wonderful memories, we look forward to welcoming your child into our TLC program as well.
