Chocolate Walrus

Interesting and fun visit to this fashion fantasy store. I have to admit that I felt a little strange walking into this place. I wondered what they would think of a 48 year old pudgy man shuffling in and checking out the costumes and lingerie but I need not have tripped. I was greeted by the nicest smile from Amy? Gosh I hope I remembered her name right. For the record I wasn;t groping the merchandise or anything creepy, but I was amazed at the dozens and dozens of colorful and very detailed costumes. Need your naughty nurse outfit? They got ‘em. School girl, Alice in Wonderland and so many others. Halloween every day! Hard telling what kind of tricks and/​or treats wearing one of these great costumes would get you. Bachelorette party coming up? Head the Chocolate Walrus. Midtown’s classy sexy shop is clean, bright and welcoming.

Went in there last night after going to 6 stores not being able to find anything. These wonderful ladies spent 2 hours picking out lingerie for me, handed and looked at over 30 + outfits on me! I ended up getting 3 complete outfits for very inexpensive when you think how pricey corsets and lingerie AR typically. They know there stuff and I love how they had various size girls working there to help being curvy that was a big help. I was amazed at the perfect customer service. The owners is very lucky to have them!

This store has it all! It is located in the heart of mid-​town right on Virginia. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I didn’t feel uncomfortable like I did at Susie’s with strange men hanging around staring at me. Costumes year around for those theme parties and everything you could possibly want to throw that bride a special bachelorette party! Everything you are looking for from naughty to nice!

No chocolates and no walruses here to be found.
Another spot to look at when you need that unique costume idea. I believe it started out as that little lingerie shop as many did in the midtown area. It has grown to offer more than the usual fun panties, bridal needs and sexy lingerie. They have recently expanded into the space to the north and also offer a massive costume selection. Some a little more traditional but many for the wild, crazy and maybe a little kinky party goer. The staff was great at offering ideas and pulling the pieces needed. They even took them into a fitting room and had them ready to try on.
PS they have some great steam punk stuff

Was recently in this store, and although they had a nice selection the staff was rude. The woman working told me to get off my phone. She didn’t ask me, she told me. Very rude, I won’t be back. I’ll spend my money else where.

I had a very pleasant shopping experience at this shop on my way home from Burningman. Very knowledgeable and pleasant staff and lots of plus size options available! Rachel, Alin and Dezarae were very helpful and got me to try on lovely lingerie I would usually pass over. I loved the selection of costumes and other toys as well. Thank you!

Was in here today looking for something specific. Tried on a few things but didn’t end up finding what I was looking for. The girl working was very helpful. The store is very organized and has the biggest selection I’ve ever seen of very cute corsets. Will definitely be back!

The most fun I’ve had in one afternoon! Tammy is the most knowledgeable person to get information about the «Toys» she sells. She makes learning exciting and is very helpful if you have specific issues you might need help with. Go visit Tammy and staff for an amazing experience!

So I walk in and immediately am helped by a very enthusiastic woman asking if I needed anything specific. I didn’t really have anything in mind so I said I would get back to her.
They have half the shop filled with what looks like halloween costumes, which would be good to go to in a couple months. The other half is where I wanted to be. It’s a small shop, but they made a space for everything. They have toys, a bachelorette section, lingerie, and really pretty corsets.
I decided to get fitted for a corset. They are expensive! The simple corset I bought was $ 140. It’s a nice corset, and they took time to fit me to see what size I am. However, things added up quickly.
I would come back here because staff is very friendly, and makes you feel comfortable. I might have to save up first though!

I came in a couple days ago and I bought a black lace thong. The woman at the counter was telling me how great this thong was. When I got home I took them out of the bag and as I was going to put them on I saw that the stitching was coming out of the crotch area. I then called the store and asked if I could exchange them and she told me no. I definitely will not come back in here. I’ll stick to Victoria’s Secret where at least I can return or exchange what I payed for.

Such a huge variety of costumes and products. Fantastic customer service too! I was not sure exactly what I wanted but with some exploring, the staff helped me pick out the perfect outfit for a hot night. I felt very comfortable and found something very flattering. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Prepping for a bachelorette party … I’d lived in Reno for a couple of years, and drove by, but did not frequent the Chocolate Walrus. We were greeted with kindness, showed the bachelorette room, and found what we wanted. The service was amazing, for the few moments we were there!

I like the selection and the store is really cute. The down side is that it’s a bit pricey. But the reason I think I will pass on shopping here in the future is that they required me to give them my driver’s license number when I used my debit card. And even wrote it down on my signed receipt. The sales associate claimed it was «for my protection and that the owner is an ex cop.» This honestly makes me a bit uncomfortable… If I’m dying to buy something from chocolate walrus again, I’ll be paying in cash.

Classy, sassy erotic store in midtown. In addition to toys and lingerie they have costumes, masks, bachelorette trinkets, etc. I must say, Chocolate Walrus has the best selection of corsets in town– in all the colors of the rainbow and in lots of different sizes. Chocolate Walrus does a great job of walking that line between sexy and sleazy. (But don’t get me wrong, there is definitely a market for sleaze!) The quality of clothing here is a little mixed, and I think some items are marked up a bit, though not exaggeratedly so. I think what I like best about Chocolate Walrus is that it’s geared more towards women empowering their own sexuality, as opposed to coming out of a place of submissiveness (like most adult shops.) The staff is professional, friendly and accommodating. Victoria’s Secret has nothing on Chocolate Walrus.

Unfortunately this store does not stand by its product. I purchased an item just two months ago that appeared to be defective. I purchased a similar item two years ago and it worked well for almost two years. When I went in to get the same item, they were out of them, so the sales lady said she thinks the one they had in stock was better anyway.
I trusted her opinion (after all she does work there).
Well, turns out the product lasted two months.
When I went in to tell them I had a defective product, the girl said «we don’t have anything to do with it, you cannot return or exchange anything»
Keep in mind, it wasn’t like I was trying to return dirty underwear for gods sake.
It was a product that they should be very well aware of or at least asked which item it was. I would think they would return it to the company, whom I’m sure would want to know they are having problems with their products (wouldn’t you)?
The lady was rude and insulting.
Again, if I were the distributor for a product, I would expect the store to return items that the customer was unhappy with, provided it’s not dirty underwear!

I always come here when I’m ready to invest in a costume piece! They have the best of everything!

This place is just GREAT for corsets and adult toys. I liked this place much better then «Suzie’s» and doesn’t have the weird men standing around staring at you.
HINT: if you go downstairs you can not bring your purse down there. Idk either leave it in the car they said or I guess you could leave it upstairs at the register.

Great selection of lingerie and toys etc. Salespeople are very helpful and Knowledgeable. My boyfriend’s dream.
