Doctor Leonard literally saved my eye. I went in for a routine eye exam because I needed new glasses. Before I left he suggested I have photos taken of the back of my eyes. The photos revealed cancer in one eye. Fortunately, the cancer was caught so early because of Doctor Leonard that I was able to receive proton radiation therapy at U.C. Davis that not only saved my eye but I ended up with no loss of vision. Thank you Doctor Leonard!

Dr Leonard has taken care of me – and family too — for several years now. He is the best optometrist I’ve ever had. I particularly appreciate his willingness to share his deep knowledge, explain and discuss. His patient engagement skills(what for other doctors we sometimes call«bedside manner») are second to none.

I never would have imagined going to Walmart of all places for an eye exam. But they got me in within an hour that I called. I went in and Dr. Leonard was amazing. I am super sensitive about eye drops and contacts. He understood and was sensitive to everything I was afraid of. Within 2 days. 2DAYS, I got my glasses that I needed. I used to go to another eye center that was really fancy and nice. But the glasses they prescribed me totally ruined my eyesight. Dr. Leonard knew that that wasn’t right and prescribed me what I needed. My insurance covered 90% of the glasses and visit because they are easy to work with. No mess, no hassle, just easy and simple. I’m very happy with this place and am now a continued costumer. You may think Walmart wouldn’t be a good place to go, but trust me; they were great!

I would Never even think about going back to Dr. David Leonard. I scheduled an appointment a week ahead of time and give Kathy my insurance information at that time. She called me 2 days before my appointment asking me for mote information about my insurance. I gave her my member id, group number, ss, birthdate, and phone number of my insurance. I called back 3 times and talked with her and another office worker. When I showed up for my appointment, I was asked again for my insurance card and information. I was NEVER told one time that my insurance was not taken. At the end of my sons exam, I asked if I could make another appointment for my other family members. I made it for 2 weeks past the initial exam. One day before we were scheduled to come back, Dr. Leonard called me and said that I would have to pay for the next exams out of pocket, and left a message that said I had called my insurance co and was told he was not a provider! Nice try, I didn’t even know his name until I went to the appointment. When in fact I did call my insurance it was for another optometrist all together(which by the way, the insurance keeps records of) and I immediately called my insurance to find out what was going on he had yet to submit a claim, or his tax id number. I have since called my insurance co, and the claim is still being processed. Bottom line, I SHOULDHAVEBEENTOLDMYKATHYORNATALIE that my insurance was not accepted by his office. It is not my responsibility to do their job and verify insurace information.
