Duds n’ Suds

Man this place is a dream! You can wash your clothes, play slots or arcade games, shoot a game of pool and even have a beer or just kick back and relax! If I lived in the area and didn’t have a washer and dryer at home I would be happy to do my laundry here every week! The machines are clean, the restroom facilities are very clean and it’s actually a really cool spot to wash clothes! The owner is a genius!

Will not go here again. Doing laundry and some man who I am unsure but may have been the owner began critiquing the manner in which I was doing laundry. When I let him know I had it handled he became obnoxious. Simply blown away.

Excellent service atmosphere was extremely friendly. Clean, and also their food was quite good. Sat at slot machine and hit for $ 200. Couldn’t ask for anything more

Why not review a laundy place! Sometimes we have to come here because the washer broke down or we need to wash large items. They have beer specials here (and super cheap) so, it takes the sting out of doing laundry for sure. They have a lot of machines and the staff has been nice and helpfule when we’ve been here.

On my way back from Burningman doing laundry with a handfulnof other playa people here. They gave me a free cup of vinegar to help with the playa dust removal. And my free soap for checking in! The wifi signal seems slow or weak tho. Im writing this review on ny phones 4g signal :/

The best laundry mat EVER!!! Super friendly staff that will help you find there right machine. The right machine doesn’t always mean the most expensive either.
There’s a TV in the corner with some games for the kids and a seating area, pool table and the food area with bar. The food is reasonably priced. Nathan’s hot dogs at $ 2. Pretzels at $ 1.25. Large soda $ 2. Bottled Water $ 0.75.
The machines and the facility is completely clean. If I ever have to do laundry while traveling in Reno, this is where we’re going.

Wow. Impressed. One of the cleanest laundry places I have ever been to. Leaves the one I go to in my hometown to shame. Expect to pay about $ 2.50 a load for standard washer and jumbo washers are a cool $ 5 bucks a load. Jumbo high speed dryers are 10min for $.25 cents. Not bad. I really like the fact there’s a snack bar, slot machines, arcade games, fold n fluff services, and a change machine. I would def be back to do laundry should I be back in this area. Very nice.

This is the most painless way to do your laundry. I’m guilty of letting mine pile up a mile high. What can i say. It’s my least favorite chore of all time.
This duds n suds is right next to Meadowood mall tucked away in the corner. It’s spacious, comfortable and has a lot of features that most laundry mats don’t have. There’s an attendent/​bartender, they have snacks, free wifi and a bathroom! They even have a row of slot machines if you feel like gambling. They have plenty of washers and dryers from regular size to giant for comforters etc.
I am here on a Saturday afternoon after procrastinating all day and I’m glad I went out of my way to come here. The other places I go to are usually cram packed with other miserable laundry procrastinators. :)
This is going to be my go to spot from here on out.

Jimmy is so nice! He helped me with everything … and told me in detail what I needed to know about washing and drying my down comforter. Then was there to check on me and the down comforter the entire time. The place was packed and Jimmy was still assisting everyone.
Jimmy is professional, knowledgable, friendly and totally makes me want to return sooner than later!
Patrons were very nice and friendly. There was always someone to talk to, if you want to chat.
Duds-​N-​Suds rocks!

Wow, pretty impressive for a freaking Laundromat. Short and sweet:
We went in at 4pm on a Sunday. We had 5 loads to put in the 50# washers (yes, you read that correctly… and don’t judge!). Each 50# washing machine runs for 36 minutes for $ 6.00 — now hold on, in case you’re swallowing your tongue! For that price, let me tell you… those clothes are CLEAN! And if you use a scented clothes soap, they smell soooo good!
The larger dryers we used (right next to the 50# washers) ran for 10 minutes for 25 cents. On average, we had to run them at a cost of $ 1.00-$ 1.25 (40 – 50 minutes). The dryers worked great! Again, the clothes came out smelling so good and very fluffy!
We had ample space and time to fold; we loved Crystal the bar gal; we had a hot dog, chips, cinnamon roll, and a couple of non-​alcoholic drinks. All was groovy; fair prices. The Sunday Night Football game was on (extra points from me just for that!), the place was clean because Crystal was constantly on the job, which I really appreciated. There is nothing more aggravating than a wet, black sock trying to jump ship and it lands on a dusty floor! Eesh…
What can I say??? Like I said, short and sweet (for me!):

For as much as you can pack in those 50# washers, $ 6.00 a load is SO WORTH IT.
SOMETHING WORTH NOTING — They also offer a fluff service. I believe it is a $ 1.00 a pound. You drop off your laundry, they wash/​fluff it for you, and then I think they deliver it to you! That would be sooo worth it to me from now on!

It’s a Chilly, Snowy Reno Monday morning and Vesta and I are sitting at a warm table in Duds n’ Suds. I’m writing this review and Vesta is reading a Dean Koontz horror story while our laundry is being done. We’ve got coffee.
There are other people here. A older man with a beret is sitting on the table behind us. He’s reading the Reno Gazette. The couple on the table next to us are playing Mahjong. Everybody here seems to be enjoying themselves.
Does this sound like your average trip to your average laundromat?
We’ve lived in Reno for six years now and six weeks ago we moved to a house in Midtown which has no washer and dryer. That was almost a deal breaker for us, because we hate, hate, hate going to laundromats. They’re usually dull, boring places and not and fun.
But we really liked the house and we really wanted to move from downtown, where we were living in the Riverwalk Towers. So we scouted all the laundromats in the area and lo and behold we found this place. It seemed nice. They got hot dogs and beer and nachos and coffee and tables where you can sit and work or play while you’re clothes are swishing around in a washer or dryer.
We hung out for about twenty minutes, had a glass of wine, talked to the girl behind the bar. And we decided that maybe going to the laundromat wouldn’t be so bad after all. So we moved and we’re loving our little house and Midtown and even going to the laundromat to get our clothes cleaned.
This is our sixth trip here and everyone of them has been a nice experience. Yes, it costs a little more to get your laundry done here than any of those other places we looked at, but the extraa money is worth it, because of all of the reasons I mentioned above and because the machines are always clean and in working order.
Our only negative experience we’ve had here, and it doesn’t affect my five star rating for Duds n’ Suds, was when we showed up last night with our laundry. The place was stuffed to the gills with people. It was almost like they were having a party going on and even though this place has more machines than I’ve every seen in a laundromat, every one of them was being used.
The lesson we took away from that as we were driving away was that doing laundry on a Sunday night isn’t a good idea. Probably, I think, because a whole lot of people put off doing their weekly laundry till the last minute and it has to be done before they go to work on Monday morning.
I never in my wildest dreams ever thought we would actually have a good time doing our laundry. I would’t say we look forward to do it, but we don’t dread it and so far we’ve had a pretty good time every time we’ve been here.

From out of town so I don’t usually use laundromats, but when we wash comforters, it would be awesome to have something like this at home.

I would have had a normal experience here and probably not felt compelled to write a review were it not for Sandy, the woman who was working while I did my laundry. I was there for hours and her sweet personality and incredible customer service made my afternoon so much better. She treated everyone who walked through the door like they were an old friend — chatting, laughing, helping out. Simply a great woman, she made my afternoon. Thanks Sandy!

Always love coming here, but only during the week of course. Too busy during weekend.

It was nice and firm and my favorite is how low it went down and how far it went up. My entire back was massaged. :)

So I was right on the line between 3 stars and 4 stars but the guy running the place is just downright awesome. He kinda looks and reminds me of Guy Fieri. This is a laundromat in Reno that you gotta try at least once and quite possibly regularly if you live near by. I was visiting Reno with my wife on vacation and we needed a laundromat without the slightest clue where one is. I saw this place on Unilocal of all places (Surprise Surprise). I came in and the guy behind the counter immediately showed me the lay of the land and helped me find a washer for my small amount of laundry. It cost me $ 2.50 for a washer and 50 cents for a dryer which we figured out is about what we pay back home. This place is cool in that it is half laundromat and half bar /​snack bar. They have a small counter where you can order a wide variety of food and of course beer, soda, and coffee. They also have plenty of table seating where you can watch TV or behind you are several video poker machines in case you want to try lady luck while your clothes get clean. Reason for the star deduction is a beer is almost $ 4.00 although they do have a beer and a hot dog for $ 4.50. For me in California these prices would be about average for a bar but in Reno I would expect a little cheaper. All in all absolutely friendly staff and the place is very clean even the bathrooms are spotless. I’d definitely say this place is worth a visit even if only for a Beer and a Hot Dog.

Best laundromat! We are from California and we have nothing like this place at home. I wish we did. Very clean and the service was great!

Clean ad fun in between. I suggest to bring a friend, an iPad and some paperwork. You will things accomplished while having a good time. And they have restrooms which is great and an arcade for the kids (or kids at heart) pricier than home but much faster.

Reno has a higher standard of laundromats than I’m used to. Attendants constantly on duty, TVs, open restrooms, and they even charge less than anywhere else I’ve been. This particular one will even serve you a beer at 8 am.
2.25 for the cheapest washers and 25 cents for 25 minutes dry time, which is a bit more expensive than the other laundries, but not enough to go out of your way if this place is closest. They have a friendly attendant always on hand who does triple duty between taking in dry cleaning, fixing machine issues, and will pour you out one and chat if you belly up to the bar.
Bar is basically just a tiny little snack bar. Domestic drafts on tap. You pay for the convenience and novelty — 3.25 for a Bud draft, 2.50 for a hot dog or nachos. TV at the back, apparently on Sundays during football season they put a game on and do a 4.50 «dog and draft» special. Handful of arcade machines at the back and a pool table. Handful of those usual slot machines too.
Despite the booze and slots it’s a chill place, typical laundromat atmosphere, no bum shenanigans.

If you need to entice a man to do his laundry… bait him with beer! My first ever laundromat (amazingly enough will all my traveling) that I have used that served beer. I figured I might as well partake while cleaning my work clothes.
Place was busy during my visit, but was able to get in and out within about 65 minutes with wash and dry.
$ 2.25 to wash per load, and $ 0.25 per 10 minutes to dry. About average in my book these days. Machines were working well, and the place was kept very clean.
