Food is pretty good for the price and they always make it when you order, so it’s always nice and hot. People are friendly and I always joke with them. I would give them 5 but the food can be better and it can also be cleaner.

Had take-out hot and sour soup plus pork fried rice. It was the place chosen by my roommate’s mother. The hot and sour soup was actually quite tasty as well as the pork fried rice. I’m surprised because this is a kind of fast food type of Chinese diner and the atmosphere is a bit bright and cheesy. Perhaps it was because I was so hungry and I never saw the restaurant that it tasted so good. Normally, I’d rather eat elsewhere.

Not so good. This used to be the very best Chinese food in town. The food was always fresh, we’ll proportioned and great tasting. Even if it were higher priced I wouldn’t go anywhere else, because it was the best. I moved out if the area and went there for dinner. It was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. They must have sold it in the last 2 years because we couldn’t eat it. I wonder if the larger Chinese restaurant in the same shopping center bought it and deliberately put in horrendous cooks. Previously there was always more people eating at Egg Roll King, and price was never a consideration because the food was always delicious. I should have known when there were no cars parked in front.

The service and the food I have had here are super yummy good flavor real hot and sour soup that most places can’t ever get right! The best I’ve had in Reno for the soup! Everything is fresh and the prices are super cheap! The owner is very nice!

Puked for days. The lady at the counter argued with me. Our whole family was sick within half an hour of eating the food! Stay away. Rude people and filthy.

I don’t eat much Chinese food, but when I do, I stop by this Egg Roll King. It’s regular Chinese food– it’s not going to blow your mind, but it hits the spot. Prices are average and portions are huge– two a la carte entrees fed my girlfriend and I lunch for three days. The last few times we’ve ordered, it’s been a super short wait– maybe 5 minutes. And lastly, the lady that works the front counter is an absolute sweetheart. I’m pretty sure she works there all day, every day. Someone give her a day off!

This is delicious, fresh, cheap Chinese food, and the service is super friendly too. I’m vegetarian, so I can’t speak for the meat dishes, but the vegetarian delight(with tofu), fried rice, egg rolls, and crab rangoons are all exceptional. The veggies are crisp and not overdone, and nothing is greasy or loaded with too much sauce. The portions are large, so you can probably share if you aren’t too hungry. Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for some tasty Chinese food that is prepared fresh when you order it. I will be back.

I haven’t had Chinese like this in a long time. It’s usually Panda Express or places like that. If I lived here I would eat here fairly often. Serving size was huge, prices are pretty dang amazing. I had sweet and sour chicken, beef broccoli, and the pork fried rice. Good stuff, try it out.

The food is so cheap and delicious here. I finally tried the hot and sour soup and was floored that it was only 2.00 $ for a reasonably sized cup. I shared the Mongolian beef with my boyfriend, more than enough for both of us and very flavorful. The customer service here is so pleasant, I can’t say enough about it. Neat little hole in the wall restaurant that I’m super excited to have found. It isn’t fancy by any means, but very quaint and comfortable.

Tried them for lunch today, not very good. What’s strange is many years ago I lived close to this place and it was rock solid. If you are hungry, they give you a good helping of food on the Combination plate. Today I got a substantial portion of chow mein, and the the two items were above average portions. I got Sesame Chicken, and Kung Pao. The price was $ 5.50ish. I also got 3 shrimp egg rolls for $ 2.95. My price out the door was just over $ 9. I was pretty hungry today, hence why I ordered what I did, I got back to the office, and the egg rolls were decent size, but were 90% cabbage. I thought maybe I got vegetable ones, then I finally found a tiny shrimp in the egg roll and I couldn’t even taste it. Overall, would definitely pass on these, and it’s said, since it’s Egg Roll King. You think they would be Egg Roll Specialists, but that’s not the case. As far as the chow mein, there’s not too many chow meins, I don’t like and I could barely eat this one. I ate about 10% of the portion and tossed the rest. I don’t know how you mess up chow mein, but it was not good. The Sesame Chicken didn’t look good, nor did it taste much better. I ate a few pieces and trash can as well. The only one was that some somewhat edible was the Kung Pao, I ate more of that than anything else, not great, not terrible. Last it’s super cold in there. so you can tell they are trying to save $$, that doesn’t bother as I like to get better value, but unfortunately, the value equation includes taste, and this place didn’t pass, which sucks, because I like the portion size on the combination plate and the price. I might try the two items w/beef and pork fried rice, if there’s a redeeming quality on that dish, I will gladly update this report. «Taste + Price + Quantity + Quality + Service(Acceptable varies according to the place) = Value or aka My Value Equation».

Exceptionally nice people. Not a huge Chinese food fan, would say its much better than some of the four and five star Chinese places to be honest. Quick, easy, friendly is what I have to say about this place.

It’s the epitome of cheap Chinese. So. If you want cheap Chinese, you will be very happy. Perfect for those impulsive moments when you think, «What do I want?» and you answer, «Cheap Chinese.» And you say, «Great idea, let’s go to Egg Roll King.» Then, you say, «Perfect.»

Let me start the review by saying anyone coming here and expecting a gourmet dish is just flat out fooling themselves. The burger from McD’s is different from a steakhouse so the need to lighten up is apparent here. Now the food is typical fast food Chinese too much sauce and too much batter but the KungPao had flavor beyond celery and the fried rice soaked up the extra sauce easily. Crab Rangoon was a joke no crab but for $ 3 was tasty little cream cheese thing. Fried rice is be stretched by adding in white rice they later drench in soy, many fast food Chinese do this, it’s a shame because the real fried rice actually has flavor beyond salt. The end result is there was nothing to bring me back just like when I leave Taco Bell I don’t say when is my next visit going to be?

Unfortunately they sold the restaurant and the food is now officially horrible. The food is watery. Don’t even try the egg foo yung, it’s harder than a brick. How can you do that to egg foo yung. Shrimp in lobster sauce, was served as a soup? So sorry folks but you won’t find me there anymore. I’m really hoping they read this and adjust their cooking style.

Food good service bad! Sat there in the phone for about 5 to 10 minutes. Forgot an item I ordered and wouldn’t take it off my card. Just kept telling me to come back(I couldn’t) then just kept repeating ‘next time’

My go-to place for fast, delicious food in North Reno. The price is great, the food is wonderful, and the guest service is UNBEATABLE! I’ve been here many times and can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad experience.

Not the best in town but bulk quantities of cheap Chinese food can NOT be beat. I recommend this place for a quick place for dinner.

Pot Stickers here are amazing!!! Also a fan of the Singapore Noodles– nice thin rice noodles with veggies and shrimp and meats. Sometimes greasy, sometimes not– guess it depends on the cook! Fast, friendly, and inexpensive American Chinese take out joint on the block. Nice for nights I don’t feel like firing up the kitchen.

Here’s my take on Egg Roll King — If they are the king of egg rolls, then order me the pot stickers! There is nothing worse than seeing meat thaw in a utility sink. That’s pretty much a regular occurrence here at Egg Roll King. For a place that is seemingly incapable of making decent fried rice or chow mein, two Chinese staples, it’s a mystery they are still in business I chalk it up to their proximity to Reno High and peoples low standards for what passes as decent low-cost Chinese. Steer clear of this place, cheap or not, it’ll leave a hole in your colon.
