Business Owner

Linda is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Great Basin Data Recovery. She formed the company in 2007. She earned her BA in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno. She brings to the company a combination of 15 years of law enforcement experience at the state and local levels and is a veteran of the Nevada National Guard.

If you are needing some help recovering files I definitely recommend this data recovery business. Family owned, super trusting, and very knowledgable. It took them a little longer than I expected, however, at the end of the day or the duration of having my computer, they recovered all my missing files. I will go back if I ever need too!

I took a frozen external hard drive there to get the data recovered. They were less expensive than the competition and got all the info off I needed. Saved my pictures and other info that I was storing on the drive. So I took another frozen drive that turns out just needed some special formatting and they did that for too in minutes. Great customer service, nice people.

What I love about GBDR is that they have skills, tools, and solutions. While our company Mountain Computers is able to do tier 1, 2, and 3 data recovery, the team at Great Basin Data Recovery is our go to team at Tier 4 and 5 data recovery for DOA, life and death, data recovery solutions. 10 – 15 years ago, the cost of data recovery took 2 weeks, shipping hard drive (s) to Los Angeles, $ 500 deposit no-​refund, and maybe getting your stuff back. These days, we have GBDR who is local, qualified and certified. My money for DOA and deathly recoveries are with GBDR.
If you are desperate for data recovery, contact GBDR. By the way, in advance any type of backup solution other than NONE is most helpful and usually worth the cost in the first place.

I took an external hard drive into this company in early December. Before taking it in to them, I knew they would need to attempt an expensive ($ 1200+) type of recovery because a quick fix was not in order for this drive. I also understood that they might not be able to recover any data. After two months of them having my drive and having no communication from them, I called them, leaving a message. My phone call was never returned, so a week after my call, I wrote an e-​mail asking for an update. I received an e-​mail in return, stating that they were still working on my hard drive. After another month of them having my hard drive and no communication, I called and was informed once again that they were still working on the drive and should be done soon. Four months after originally taking this drive in, I received a call stating that they couldn’t recover any data off my drive and asking if I wanted them to destroy the drive or if I wanted to pick the drive up. I went to pick up the drive and showed up to a locked door. I called and asked if they were in the office and the lady said yes. I knocked on the door and no one answered. I called again and then the lady stated, «oh did you not know we moved.» How would I have known that this company had just moved? Once again, their communication skills were lacking. Also, their move was so recent that the old location still had signs with their name on them, and the new location had absolutely no signage. I understood from the beginning that they might not be able to recover any data, but I didn’t think it would take four months for them to figure it out. Due to the absolutely horrible service, I will not be using this company any longer, and I do not recommend this company to anyone.
