Delicious food! We will definitely return on our next trip to Reno! The onion chutney was delicious. Naan bread and all the curries we had were off the charts wonderful. Great place!

First time here, came in was greeted and seated. Buffet area small and eating options also small. Came in at noon at it was full, busy place, lunch time. The food was Great, never had Indian food before, I had different idea of it, but it turn out to be a good place. And the price is good for a buffet meal.

I’ve only eaten at the lunch buffet, which for me is a great selection for a great price(around $ 9). About everything I’ve tried I have been pleasantly happy with. I would like to come back for dinner and try some of their other dishes. I’ve tried the other Indian buffet in town and this one is much better.

We love this place! We did the dinner for two, and holy smokes! So.much.food. But it was all fantastic! The staff is very nice and the music videos they have playing are fun to watch! Everything was great, as usual.

It’s been years and years since I had been in here, and I guess I never wrote a review way back then. But the mood struck for Indian food and luckily we were close by. They were moderately busy, but we still got a table right way. Our server was immediately at our table to take our drink orders. Luckily I was able to decide quickly, but I normally would like at least a few minutes to think about it. One thing I noticed right off the bat was that their beer menu listed a small and large of the beer that I ordered. However, when I ordered the small, I was told that they only had the large. I’m not sure if that was just for that particular night or if it’s all the time. If it’s all the time, maybe they should consider updating the list. Our slightly overbearing service continued as we received barely any time to look over the food menu and decide what we wanted to eat. I don’t think we were taking that long, but we had a server come over at least 3 times asking if we ready. It just felt a little rushed. I finally decided on the beef korma and we ordered a side of the garlic naan to share. Our food came out pretty quickly and was nice hot(and stayed nice and hot due to the serving dishes being an open flame). The chunks of beef were nice and tender and the sauce — OHMY! I wish I had ordered more naan to sop it all up. I couldn’t stop eating it, it was so good. I had forgotten how much I loved their food, but now that I’ve had a refresher, I can’t wait to go back again in the very near future. Just one more note about the service. It felt like several servers were constantly just waiting and watching, ready to be at our table in a split second whether it was to take the order, clear off something, etc. And they practically pounced on our table as soon as we got up to leave. I obviously like the idea of quick and attentive service and no one likes to see dirty tables left sitting for a long time, but there is a fine line between that and overbearing, which is what I felt like this was.

Go for lunch buffets, naan is good. Other than that, extremely not worth it for dinner(expensive) and if not crowded, feels like you’re being watched by the waiters who stand in the middle of the restaurant. During lunch buffets, sometimes it can be irritating when waiters keep asking to take your plate or if you are done. No need to feel rushed to eat. Seems like they are over staffed. sometimes.

Having gone through a pretty long drought of Desi food, I decided to try out the lunch buffet at IK&C recently. Whenever I go for Indian buffet options, I almost always wish I had gone à la carte immediately after, but I was starving this particular Sunday and had a hunger for tandoori that no single entrée could satisfy. Lo and behold, I finish my meal on the brink of passing out because I ate myself into submission without even realizing. My Yeezian motto for South Asian buffets is typically«No One Man Should Have All That Makhani» and it rang particularly true here. The buffet did as all buffets do: it let me go ham on a volume of food that could very well exceed the maximum occupancy of a normal human stomach. Was not particularly impressed by a lot of the available options though. Everything felt very toned down in terms of flavor, likely to accommodate those more unpracticed with Desi fare. The tikka and paneer were lacking but satisfying and the veggie masala veered into dangerously greasy territory. Pluses: tandoori chicken was great, and I may have eaten a full adult hen’s worth. Service was spot-on; super attentive even at a busy hour. Will definitely swing by again to try out the à la carte quality.

We were travelling from Reno to lake Tahoe and we decided to stop by fr a quick lunch at this place ! The ambience seemed fine on the first look. The servers weren’t really inviting. So we started off to check out the dishes at the buffet. First turn off was the fruits and crème. It was actually supposed to be served as a desert, but it was the first dish placed on the buffet line. Next, they had onion curry and dhai boondi in the salad selection. It was an unnecessary addition I feel because they did not have any dishes to compliment it . Also there were 2 potato dishes in the curry section, which felt repetitive as it had a similar taste. The naan was crispy and chewy. Rice options had only white rice. All in all the food wasn’t worth the experience.

We tried Biryani in this restaurant and it was very bad. And the price is more than worthy for their food.

Service — The service at this place is horrible at its best. I just dont want to waste my time writing about their service. The service to us was just awful. DOT. Quality of Food — Not sure if it was an one off occasion. But their food was very stale when we visited their place and especially the Mutton Dosa. My god! I still cant forget its revolting smell coming outta the mutton meat. I just kept it aside. I just couldn’t take it near my mouth. Taste — If you are an Indian/Pakistani and looking for real North Indian/Pakistani food just DONTGOHERE. Probably it tastes better for the local ppl but it may not for Indians/Pakistani looking for an authentic taste.

We decided to go to an Indian food buffet on a whim. It was a great decision. The lunch buffet has a pretty great selection. They had some of the best saag I ever had. I also really enjoyed the lentil dish and mint chutney. The service was prompt, and we had no problem getting our garlic naan refilled. For $ 8.95, you really can’t go wrong!

First time in Reno. Visited this place based on the 300+ reviewes. Ordered the Combination grill platter(non-veg) & was very disappointed. The goat kabob on the mixed platter had a very gamey smel & was chewy as well as the chicken drumstick, which suggested that the meat wasn’t properly cleaned nor properly marinated & cooked as it should’ve been. The shish kabob was very chewy, which means it was stale; pre cooked & warmed to serve. Tandoori Chicken had a thick dry crust on it suggesting a pee-cooked, warmed to serve. The beer had a manufacturing date which was 15 months old; not c up to US beer bottling standards. I paid full price for what I had ordered & left with 75% of the food still on the plate bc I wasn’t satisfied.

Limited variety but clean, freshly prepared food for when you are in need for a taste of spice on a Reno visit.

So while my last review was glowing, this one is not, so much. I’m not sure why, but the servers have started treating me like crap. All of my friends were saying that I was imagining things and that the servers are wonderful, so I had my friends come eat with me. Everyone I brought with me noticed how bad the servers treated me as opposed to how they were treated when eating at India Kabab without me. I’m not sure if they have a vendetta, or something. I really loved the restaurant and am not sure how I offended anyone. When ordering naan at the buffet with a friend, instead of getting two baskets – one for each of us – the server went to another table with a basket of basically naan scraps that the man over there had ordered. That man said he realized he was too full and declined. The server immediately TOSSED the basket to our table, like tossing scraps to dogs. He didn’t even look at us or say«here’s your food». On the contrary, he walked away super quickly and in a huff. He never came back and actually gave us the amount of naan we ordered. There was also a time when I was trying to pay for my food, and the server came over, saw my card in the little black card holder, slammed the card holder shut angrily, and then walked away. He came back in five minutes and finally took my card to go process payment, but WTF? I didn’t know my debit card could piss someone off so much. I’ve also gone there countless times on lunch break and told them I really need the check immediately so that I may leave and get back to work on time. They say they’ll do it, but instead do nothing. In fact, they bring the check fairly late, about 10 minutes after I’ve finished my meal. I still go for the cheap and DELICIOUS buffet, but I feel very unwelcome and unhappy with my service. It sucks because I loved bringing friends here and showing my buds from out of town this hidden gem, but I guess I don’t see it as much of a gem, anymore.

Holy cow, what a gem! We walked here after learning the wait for Miguel’s was 25+ mins, and I’m so glad we did because dinner was delicious! Started with the samosa chaat which I wasn’t expecting to be covered in chickpeas, but if I had known how tasty it was I would have only ordered that for dinner. The serving size is pretty big, but if your table is sharing then it’s perfect. Tikka masala and chicken korma to share. Both were very tasty but I definitely think the korma was better. Comes with rice which is also good. We ordered a side of naan which is always good for dipping, but honestly we ended up eating mostly the rice anyway. To top it all off, we tried the mango juice. It’s so thick! Very sweet. Very yummy. I added some water to mine, as I’m not really one for strong drinks. Will absolutely come back here!

This may be the best deal in Reno, its definitely the best Indian food. The fact that you can get out for under 10 bucks is mind blowing. The four stars is for service, it’s not the best, however this isn’t a huge deal seeing it’s a buffet.

India Kabab & Curry is truly one of my favorite restaurants in town! They were in existence long before the incredible foodie movement that we’re enjoying now. The $ 7.95(now $ 8.95) buffet that they are so well-known for is merely the tip of this flavorful, delicious iceberg. It’s such a great deal and is so much better than the soup/salad/etc deals you can find at corporate restaurants. If you’re unsure/intimidated by Indian food, the buffet is a great place to start teasing your palate(and learning the names of some of these wonderful dishes!). However, please don’t judge them solely on the quality of the buffet food. The buffet food is good, but it’s just not in the same league as a freshly made, individual order of the same dish. The tandoori chicken is a prime example of this. Tandoori ovens are borderline magical in my eyes. They just give food the most incredible, indescribable flavor… I frequently order the vegetable tandoori. There are literally 3 – 4 different flavors in each bite. Eat slowly and savor the smooth transitions and clean finish. If you’re afraid of heat, don’t worry! Each dish is made to order(mild, medium, hot). If you’ve never tried Indian food, start with mild heat and progress your way up the scale. I grew up on Indian food, so I absolutely love all the rich flavors that warm you from the inside out. However, I understand how the names and spices can be intimidating to newcomers… Don’t let the Ben Stiller scene from«Along Came Polly» prevent you from exploring this wonderful territory! You can never go wrong with samosas, vegetable pakoras, tikki aloo, malai kofta, aloo chole, or any tandoori dish.(See what I mean about the intimidating names?) The tomato-coconut soup(most of the soups are vegetarian) is absolutely to die for! They also have some nice dinners for 1(or 2) at a variety of prices. This is a nice way to try several dishes by yourself(or with someone special). Since the dishes are freshly prepared, they are higher quality than what you’ll get at the buffet. It is well worth the extra money and is a more pleasurable dining experience! While India Kabab & Curry has a full bar, I definitely encourage you to try a lassi! It’s like a yogurt shake/smoothie. You can order it sweet, salty or mango-flavored. Definitely go with the mango! Service is always pleasant, attentive and professional, though you may have difficulty in communicating when you’d like to modify a dish.(In my case, I order the vegetarian appetizer platter with double vegetable pakora instead of cheese pakora. Indian cheese just isn’t my thing, but boy, do I love that chickpea batter!) I have never had an issue when receiving my dish, but sometimes there’s a communication barrier when I try to explain what I want. If management ever happens to read this, please bring back the ginger ice cream! It is simply otherworldly!

It was the one snowy/rainy eve this season. The wife, yes we got married about a month and 5 days ago, found herself with a migraine, incapacitated on the couch. Clearly she was in no mood to create something delicious, and we both needed to eat. So what were we to do? Option 1 was to unleash me on the kitchen to cook… which would have resulted in a mountain of dirty dishes that would certainly survived for at least a few days. NOPE! Option 2 was to dine on something delivered… which sounds great in theory until you realize Reno is really remiss in this regard. GUESSNOT! Option 3 was easily the least desirable decision we could make… which I was not so willing to welcome. See, since the food wouldn’t come to us, I had to fetch the food. Worse than that, we couldn’t come to a consensus on what we wanted when we did finally decide to do the deed! And then, out of nowhere, one of us suggested Indian, and all at once the world was one again. It was the answer to all our desires, the only thing strong enough to motivate even me to leave my perch on the couch to brave the roads, to retrieve dinner for us. We ordered our food through the Unilocal app! Rich and creamy Saag Paneer, rich, velvety sweet and savory chicken korma, and an eggplant dish, all ordered hot and spicy, along with garlic naan and onion kulcha, rice, chutneys, and naturally two mango lassis were bagged up and ready to go when I arrived. It was so easy! You can pay with a credit card before picking your food up, which made it super fast too! I returned home and was instantly a hero! My skills as a great husband were spread far and wide across the internets and, for an instant, I was famous! So for this update I’m going to up it a star because of the seamless process, absolutely delicious food, and friendly service, and for making me worthy of worship!!‘ Thanks India Kabab! This is the best Indian in town!
