Legacy Vacation Resort Reno

The rooms were old but we enjoyed our stay. The game room was fun with our family meeting us there. We used the bbq they had. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool but hubby said it was quite deep all throughout. My only thing was the rooms were set to heat only or off. Reno weather changes so much, but our room stayed at 74 degrees, because it was warmer the days we were there. They did not have fans or a way to cool the room. We sleep miserably in the heat. That was my only thing.

I am updating this to provide additional information those who wonder how a jail could be in that area. The property is located on 140 Court Street in downtown Reno. Directly across the street you will find the Mills B. Lane Justice Facility. The first 3 floors are the City of Reno Municipal Courthouse. (Makes sense. it’s on COURT STREET) The top 5 floors are the Washoe County District Attorney’s offices. This justice facility includes prisoner holding cells and an underground parking garage. Inmates who are appearing for court are held in that building before their hearings. Call it what you will… but if it’s holding someone who committed a crime… who is now appearing in court and needs to be bailed out (Bailbondsman is conveniently located across the street) … that’s a jail. Call the bail bondsman. they will tell you the jail is across the street. I’m not even mad about this experience… I don’t believe myself to be a «hotel snob». I do hope that any issues that have been posted here are addressed and future guests are able enjoy their stay here.

Huge line at check in. Took 45 minutes to check each guest in, and then none of the rooms were ready. (They hadn’t been cleaned). Very difficult for everyone to get any information about why this was going on, what we could expect, and when rooms would be ready. No guests were contacted in advance regarding the delays. Most left to go stay somewhere else, or waited hours for their room.

Unfortunately we had no other choice to stay here this past weekend due to the fact it was a 3 day weekend (valentines day, Chinese New Year and Presidents’ Day) and all the casino hotels were booked for the 3 day weekend. And I got this room on quick reservation! Anyhow, there was only 1 receptionist at the time of check in around 7:30 pm and a huge line of people. Upon finally checking in and getting to our room we immediately needed to open windows and spray air freshener and turn on the a/​c to air out the room. It smelled awful and had a nasty stench! I did like the fact about the little kitchenette in the room tho, however we had no toilet paper in the bathroom. So, since no room service you need to go get it yourself from the receptionist! When you check in they also give you a Parking pass to park your car but I had NO PARKING ANYWHERE in this hotel! Even with the parking pass! I have a child with cerebral palsy and to walk with all our belongings was awful! The few handicap parking were full with people who didn’t even have signs to park in handicap. I had to park my car around the corner on the street! And walk so far with all of our belongings and a handicapped child. I also complained to receptionist about not having parking even with the pass and it was 1 pass per room they said, but apparently that was not the case. The hotel is run down, but at least I would expect to look and smell at least clean! At time of check out which I was overly excited to get out of there and go somewhere else, they didn’t even ask how was my visit, so I decided to mention again to a different receptionist I had to park my car on the street around the corner which I shouldn’t even have needed to do assuming 1 car per room and how people are parking in handicapped without the placard. Again here we go talking all of our belongings and a handicapped child down the street with all our belongings… I will NEVER go back here again.

I normally don’t take the time to post a 1 star review, but this place is awful. Spent an hour and a half in line while one older lady asked for every guest’s cell # thrice… only to get to the front, pay an extra $ 100 deposit, and be told no rooms are ready.
Allegedly, my room should be ready in 30 minutes. Asked if I could get a key and go get dinner, was told no.
Get a call an hour and a half later that my room was ready, and had to go wait in another insanely slow line with 1 slow person working on a Saturday night… in ski season… the best season in 20 years!
Businesses can’t cure all ills, but schedule 2 – 3 desk people for check in on a weekend in the middle of ski season. To do otherwise is showing that my business doesn’t matter.
I arrived at 5:00, and just entered my room at 8:55. I’ve stayed in hotels for less than 4 hours. The check in shouldn’t take that long, ever, period.

I was not happy with my stay!
I paid a lot of money for a 1 bedroom 2 bath with 2 queen beds and a sofa pull out couch and when we got there we only had one queen bed 2 sofas and one bathroom. The heater was broken and set on 80 degrees (the worker told us they turn he AC off in winter which is understandable but we could only open windows to cool it off in the room witch took for ever) and we had noisy people up stairs and the church clock going off every 15 – 60 min apart. We told management about our issues and they were like sorry this is what happens with availability unless you specifically ask for the room you want. But hello you should know when booking that’s the one i want otherwise i wouldn’t book it. I am not happy about this it was a struggle with the amount of people we had in the room this is why i requested what i requested and thought i paid for. Also the iron didn’t work and the shower head would sequel every-​time you turned the hot water on so it would wake everyone and be obnoxious every time someone took a shower. Also the front room TV didn’t work too. I suggested this place the first time i stayed but now i will not suggest this place to anyone again

We stayed at the Legacy last year and it was fine. This year we had to cancel our reservation because of a pending storm in the Sierras (with travelers being advised to stay off the roads) and we were told that we’d still be charged for the room because we’d given only 24 hours notice instead of the required 72. We think the 72 hour policy is unreasonable and will stay elsewhere the next time we travel to Reno.

If i could give this place zero stars i would!
This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. I am shocked that I traded my las Vegas timeshare for this place. There were no member perks, no activities and it seemed that there was always something that was broken. The pool was under repair. The staff kept telling us its a outside agency managing the repairs, then the next day we were told it was the chlorine levels. OK. We understand, so we asked to use the sauna. We were told that the sauna was also not open because the pool and sauna are connected. Really?
Our room was not clean. I even had to ask for a clean sponge to wash the dishes.
The staff was rude and condicending. The woman who checked us in was rude. she had to see if our room was ready. Really? That’s why there are check in times…
I will not stay here again! And did I forget to mention the ridiculous security??? Or the smell of marijuana.

RUN… DO NOT STAY HERE OR BOOK!!! I made a reservation through
a few weeks prior to my vacation. When I got to the hotel I was told they were sold out and could not give me a refund then and there. I even called earlier to confirm my reservation and was told everything was ok. I was stranded in Reno 5 hours away from home in freezing weather and children in the car. They didn’t even call to give us a heads up that they over booked, I wasn’t the only person there who was left without a room. There were 3 other people in front of me that they did the same thing to. Go somewhere else. The staff was rude too, and the manager unhelpful.

DO NOT STAY HERE… FOR ANY REASON… EVER.
I live in Tahoe (only an hour away) so I didn’t really want to pay $ 310 to stay at the Peppermill for the weekend. The room for this place was originally $ 80 per night but got an online discount. It ended being $ 60ish a night… Good deal, right? Oh, I could not have been more wrong!
My boyfriend had to work but he was to follow a couple hours later so I checked in alone. Since we booked with his card, I figured we could TRY to just keep it all on one card. I knew the chances of this happening was very unlikely without him being present due to the possibilities of fraud. I figured I could suggest they allow me to check in early with his card, on the condition that he present himself and his ID when he arrived.
At check-​in, Mr. Front desk asked for my ID– which I handed over while telling him that I had my boyfriend’s card. Before I could finish my sentence, he very rudely cut me off and said that I needed the ID that went with the card, while THROWING my ID back at me onto the counter. (Now, before a manager tries to respond to this post with some snide response about fraud and security PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE ALREADY TACKLED THAT SUBJECT). My issue is not directed at the fact that I could not use my boyfriend’s credit card without him being present, as that was assumably and rightfully so. My issue was the way Mr. No-​Customer-​Service cut me off while I was speaking and threw my ID onto the counter. Rather than assuming I did not have a credit card of my own, he could have listened. Yes, I do have my own money. Yes, I am a customer and would like to be treated respectfully. Yes, you can at the very least PRETEND that you enjoy your job since you’re the first face I see (with a frown). I pulled out my credit card and picked my ID up and mimicked the way he thew my ID me. He had the audacity to ask me in a condescending tone «How IS your day?». And I responded by saying «It WAS going well». Yeah, two seconds into this transaction and already going horribly. You would think it’d stop there but there’s more folks!
Got to my room and notice a HOLE in the bathroom with exposed electrical wires. Mmm, an eyesore and a safety issues. Grrrrreat. So, naturally I call the front desk for a room change. Low and behold, the person who answers is Mr. No-​Customer-​Service.
Must be my lucky day!!! I tell him the issues and requested a room change. He complies… As HE HUFFS AND PUFFS OVER THE PHONE. I can clearly hear his dismay. Oh. My. God. I feel like I am bothering this man!!! Don’t mind me over here… Just paid money for this room. Didn’t want a hole with exposed wires… But who am I– paying patron– to ask for simple things?

We stayed here last month on our trip to Nebraska and back to Sacramento. It was a long drive that day as we left Steam Boat Springs and had to get to Reno for the night so we could get to Sacramento by 9am the next day. So we get in around 10pm and the place is in kind of a sketchy part of town with what appeared to be drug dealers and working girls 1 door down from the property.
We parked and went in to check in and the first thing they hit you with is once you sign in there are no refunds, Should have been our cue to leave. But it was late and we had already used our GCI points and $ 39 to reserve then they hit you up with a $ 30 cleaning fee. We would have been better off staying at the Peppermill. The room was dirty and smelled as well as being really small. It also only had a queen bed. The Fridge was one of those under the counter types that don’t get cold and the freezer was so iced up you could not put anything in it.
The bathroom was small and dirty with a moldy shower curtain.
WE would have left but we were beat and it was only for one night. If it were more I would have checked out and ate the points.
Truly do not stay here.

A week ago my parents and I reserved a room advance and yesterday we arrived at the room already with bad smell like there some problems in the pipe. We already rent a studio of 4 people and yes it’ll be small. A hair in the bathtub no slient proof to sleep. Next door has their tv loud. Is either the toilet pipe has poop stuck or next door. We end of leaving the place and went to another casino hotel in the same right. Bad experience don’t reserve here

Be Warned and Stay Away!!! Upon check in, there was nobody at the front desk. There were however two females outside the doors smoking cigarettes. After a few minutes, one of them came in and checked us in. I requested a luggage cart, and was told they were all missing and they would have to go searching the halls for one and would have it delivered to our room. I was traveling with a female adult and four children. When we entered the room, everybody gasped for air from the stench. It smelled like a combination of mold, musty, and stale cigarette smoke. Gross.
With a lot to do the next day, we just decided to make the best of it since it was just for one night. Then…
1. The kitchen towels provided in the room were still full of food from god knows who.
2. Upon opening the pull out sofa bed, we discovered it with no sheets, and covered in potato chips. Now the way it was folded up, it is not possible somebody ate chips in the sitting position and they fell through the cushions.
3. I located a broom in the closet to brush the bed off and discovered it was bent right in the middle and nearly unusable. Similar to what would happen if you swung a metal broom handle at a pole and it just folded in half.
4. No sheets, blankets, or pillows for the pull out, even though we booked the room for 6 people well in advance.
5. The shower curtain was a yellow/​pinkish color which I think is the onset of mold and mildew.
6. The toilet did not flush. I called and Security advised me there was no maintenance personnel on site. Shortly after, a person in a security shirt arrived with a plunger and said she had fixed the toilet. I went in a while later, took a leak, and tried to flush… Just filled up with water. It wouldn’t even flush a single square of toilet paper. Now all the children need to use the restroom so I called Security back. They wanted us to pack up (6 people…2 adults and 4 small children) and move to another room… AT 1:30 IN THE MORNING.
I refused and demanded they bring us a key to a room with a functional toilet. So for the remainder of the night and next day, we got to walk out of the room, down the hall turn right and enter another room for the toilet.
I conveyed all of these concerns to the front desk, Security, and Expedia. I just got an email from Expedia stating they had done their best to negotiate some kind of refund and that the Legacy Vacation Club Reno had refused.
So here is the review for all to see on google. Now I will copy and paste everywhere I can so nobody else has to deal with this absolute &%#@HOLE or the absolutely useless staff and customer service.

I don’t know y people are putting bad reviews, but I booked the hotel last minute via
on a busy july Saturday night for only 84.00, it was clean, had great amenities (full size microwave, stove, oven, sink, refrigerator, dishes, dish soap, lots more) a private balcony with chairs and table. I was surprised to get all of this with a requested noon checkout :) we walked only 8 – 10 minutes to harras casino. I would stay there again no questions.

In addition to our room, the deplorable conditions of other friends also staying here for the weekend were also very bad. Items included:
— Soiled bath towels left in the room
— No bathroom toiletries (toilet paper, soap, etc.)
— Soiled bed linens
— Stained and odor-​filled mattresses on pull out bed/​couch
— Clothing left behind by previous guests
The pool area is also not sanitary. A sign was posted warning guests of a fungus found onsite and warning everyone to wear footwear when walking around. **GROSS**
A common theme we experienced around the property was unsightly animal feces in the hallways, elevators and even just outside our room. Legacy stipulates pets are not allowed in rooms, but multiple guests had dogs with them.
There is no saving grace about this place.

We booked a room in December for an upcoming volleyball tournament on April 23^rd. We book multiple tournaments throughout the year. I always try to book rooms with kitchens because my daughter has Celiac and Myasthenia Gravis, so we cook our own meals. Well, our team decided not to play in the tournament and it slipped my mind to cancel it. I received a confirmation email on 4÷21÷15 at 12:08am confirming our stay. I emailed them right away to cancel and explained that I forgot because we play in a lot of tournaments and it slipped my mind to cancel. They said they could cancel my reservation but they were going to charge me a full-night’s stay. No matter how much pleaded, they would not budge. So basically I just flushed $ 160 down the toilet.
I think the company intentionally sends their confirmation emails passed their 72-​hour cancelation policy so they can take advantage of people. We will never stay at this place and will never recommend it to anybody. My daughter plays travel volleyball and we are a part of a club that is always looking for hotels to book multiple rooms. That could be up to 12 families. Too bad you didn’t care about my business.

Let me first say I work in hospitals and am a closeted germaphobe. I say that because my first impression was, «hmnn? What do we have here?» After roaming around the place for 20 minutes, my conclusion was that the building was old but sanitary. I am also a prior military spouse and I know what old housing looks like.
LVC has done a great job updating an old property. The paint is bright and cheery. The living room was clean and spacious. Our unit came with 1 bedroom, a living room, kitchenette and 2 baths. The bathrooms are teeny tiny but get the job done. The shower’s water pressure was good and the toilets flushed with purpose.lol. The kitchen stove was very old. On the third day I used it to toast garlic bread and it worked like a charm. It took less than 5 minutes to toast half a loaf. My belief in appliances are ‘if it ain’t broke…’ The beds were very comfortable even with my neuropathy. I did have a hard time falling asleep though because I was away from home.
There is also a very nice game room and indoor pool. We didn’t utilize them but would be a good way to kill time if you run out of things to do.
There’s a church nearby. The church bells go off every fifteen minutes from 8am to 10pm. It was so quaint the first couple of days. After day three I became numb to it and luckily it wasn’t a bother.
What I didn’t like:
We only had a TV for the living room and not the bedroom. TVs are cheap now. I wish they would of sprang a hundred bucks for a TV in the bedroom. I’m used to falling asleep with my bedroom TV on:(.
Our stay was during the end of March. The first day the room was burning up. Hubby tried to turn on the AC but it is on a central system. The nice host person told us to crack the window to ventilate the room. It actually worked to the point where hubby and I had to change beds because I was getting too cold.
On the third morning I could hear my neighbor coughing as if he was in the literal next room. I joked with my husband that I was going to call 911 if he couldn’t clear his throat in the next few minutes. I’d hate to have newlyweds as neighbors.
We appreciate the hospitality that Legacy Vacation Club has extended to us so much, we plan on using them again for DisneyWorld this summer.

This place is underrated in my opinion! Great location, affordable price and friendly staff. We were on a ski trip to Mt. Rose and stayed in Reno downtown without a car, everything we needed was walking distance (Greyhound bus station, ski shuttle stop, restaurants & shops). We stayed in room 414 and it was spotless, super convenient with two bathrooms. The only complain was the loud air-​condition, it was too loud to sleep well. Overall we were happy with our stay!

me and the wife stayed here for 3 days during the 2014 rib cook off .we where pleasantly surprised for what we go for the cost of 219.00.
Stove with an Oven. small fridge, Flat screen TV with HD, Wi Fi, and bowls and a coffee and toaster machine. This place has a Pool table, a pool indoors, sauna, and a deck for BBQ with BBQ if you want to have one. You are minutes from a great dog park, the truckee river, a Church that chimes every 15 or so minutes a Movie Theatre, and the casinos. we walked all over had Coffee at one of the area shoppes, The Club staff were more than friendly. These are from the staff told us are Time shares owned by attorneys that work down the street. They are really taking care of the place and we will return again next year and after that. Some rooms have bigger beds and have a Balcony as well. Pending on what you want. some accommodate with a sleeper sofas so if you have kids that have a place to sleep as well. Its a bargain for us.

They did a good job making the building look good… but at $ 100/​night (for 2 nights), it wasn’t up to par.
I’m a big guy (but not a huge fat guy) and the shower was barely usable. There was plenty of room in the bathroom, but the shower (no tub) was smaller than a coat closet!
Also, there was an odd, large ‘storage’ space in the room that had the AC unit above it, but no shelves and no luggage stand.
On the good side, the TV was good and the cable had clear channels and a good selection.
Also the wifi was GREAT! This is the best WiFi I’ve had at ANY hotel, even expensive rooms I’ve stayed at — my room number was in the low 300s, FYI.
