Paid $ 35 for application and never hear back from them. Call the office said didn’t know and told to call back next week. called back next week still got the same answer. Very unprofessional !!! Take your application money and you never know what’s going on! Stay away from this company, so many apartment in Reno why need to rent from them? Probably they make money from all $ 35 non refund application fee that they collect! Stay away!!!

Being in the real estate business myself, I have never heard of or personally encountered such horrible customer service.
Ashley Wheaton is my property manager, and I use that term loosely, and can’t even be bothered to respond to an e-​mail or a phone call within a timely fashion. I always take my work home with me whether or not I want to, knowing that it’s the business I got into. Any time I place a request for something to get fixed, which has only happened three times in two years by the way, it takes them weeks to respond and then another couple weeks to schedule an appointment and get someone out. One of my issues has yet to be fixed after two months!
As a real estate business they should know that people have housing needs almost ²⁴⁄₇. If you need after hours help, good luck. Even the emergency number is useless, so you best hope that nothing severe actually happens.
Unless you’re looking to have people ignore you and your needs as a tenant, I wouldn’t recommend renting from Remax Premier Properties.

They seem super unorganized there. On their website it says 48 hours to process a rental application. It’s had been 9 days before I called. I was placed on hold then hung up on. Then I was sent to a random voicemail after being on hold. On the 4^th try I got the lady who manages the property.
She gives me the hole the I’m sorry we had a lot of applications bla bla. I knew there where multi people applying. I asked why they had not called me. She said well I was going to but I don’t have any contact info for you. Okay so what about the contact info on the application?
After talking to the lady I felt kinda ripped off. I paid the application fee, I deserve the courtesy of a phone call informing me I need to keep looking!
I don’t thing everyone has this experience here. All of the people I spoke to where very nice and polite. That’s where they get their star from. The ladies where very nice.

I am getting ready to sign my second lease with Remax Premier and I felt the need to share my experiences because I see a lot of people on here leaving reviews that I don’t think represent the great service I have had. I was leaving a difficult situation when I needed a place fairly quick. I had been looking at apartments everywhere when I found my gem I live in now. I checked out keys from their office ($ 40 which is refunded immediately upon returning the keys) and put in my application as soon as I returned. I told Kay the urgency of my situation and she was so accommodating to help me get in as soon as possible which I really appreciated.
Upon move in there were some minor things wrong with the unit (I mean nothing is ever perfect right?). I placed a maintenance request and maintenance contacted me the next day to schedule a time that worked for me so they could come in. Since then I have had no problem getting in contact with someone to help me with any issues I have had. They sent me a link to access my «tenant portal» which is amazing. I can pay my rent online and send maintenance requests. I literally don’t even have to go down to their office to pay rent.
Overall, I think Remax Premier Properties has been one of the better management companies I have rented from and don’t be discouraged from these negative reviews.

This may only apply to a small number of people but I hope that people who support veterans will take it in to account. I was told by this company that the Post ⁹⁄₁₁ GI Bill does not count as a source of income even though it mandates that you be a full time student to receive anything. I was told that if I wanted to rent from them that I should get another job. I found this incredibly disrespectful and frankly ignorant seeing as the GI bill pays double what my job before school did. Just another example of companies that pay lip service to veterans publicly and insult them privately. I hope you take this into consideration before patronizing this company.

Give them a chance.
I know the negative reviews are scary but you know what I’ve learned from Unilocal,people review when they are either really displeased with a business or when they can’t stop raving about it.
I feel like Premier Properties falls in the in between. We came in wanting to look at several of their listings. Bonus points for being open on Saturdays. Their website is very informative and each listing has various pictures for the units available but you just never know until you show up in person, right? Yes, because pictures can be really deceiving.
The ladies in the office were a pleasure to deal with. They answered our questions and gave us instructions on the property viewing order. We got keys to four properties that were pretty much scattered all over town and in varying price ranges.
Some of the properties were in move-​in ready condition, some not so much… with the cheaper units renting out fast. Their application is straightforward and they do require that you check out the unit before you turn one in and that way you can also talk to them if you have a special circumstance or a situation that you won’t be able to explain on the application.

After reading other reviews I had to add my experience with this office.
1^st call: I take time off work to drive from downtown to their office in south Reno. Get there. complete the paperwork, leave my deposit, get the key and head back out to downtown to view the property. Arrive at the property and the keys don’t work. Drive back to their office in south Reno to be told «Oh yeah, those keys don’t work. Do you want me to give you the second set to see if you have better luck with those?» Um, no. I have to get back to work. Drop off the keys. grab my deposit and leave.
2^nd Call: On a Saturday (about 10 am) I’m told we must be escorted to the property. Fine. But they can only show it on Monday. Won’t work. I can’t take time off from work for this nonsense. Especially since I’ve tried that once already with this office.
Decide my husband will go see the apartment alone
3^rd. Call:
Me: «Hi. I’d like to see the apartment at …»
Agent: «You’ll have to come by and pick up a key during the hours of…»
Me: «I was told a few minutes ago I had to be escorted»
Agent: «Oh? Hold on»
Another agent gets on the phone: «I’ll have to call you back after I look at my calendar for next week»
4^th call: We get an appointment for Monday.
Monday: Meet with the agent and find out they’ve already received other applications and «the other applicants have [perfect] credit»
Needless to say, we didn’t apply. Why bother when they’re basically telling you, «We’re going with the other applicants»?
I wonder if the owners of the properties know why it takes so long to get their properties rented? In the meantime they are losing money every day that goes by. I would think time would be of the essence for these Realtors and they would jump at the chance to show a property any day/​any time especially since their income depends on it.
I will be avoiding anything listed by this office.

Really poor service and super inconvenient location. Hours are advertised as 8a — 5a but they’re closed for a daily meeting from 8a — 9:30a even though they stop giving keys at 3p and could easily hold the stupid meeting at 3p. WTF?! Do they want to rent properties or not?!
Then, the incompetent key clerk that «helped» me gave me the keys to the WRONG FUCKING APARTMENT! Like I want to pay these people a profit. NO CHANCE!

Relocating from Reno to Chicago, my husband and I had a very small window of 4 days to find a place to live before we moved all of our belongings in a moving truck the following week. Because of this tight turn around, I thought going with an established real estate company would be ideal. Wrong.
We found a duplex on the website that had both units available. Drove out to look at it, decided to put in an application. What a waste of $ 40 ($ 20 each person to apply). Since we were from out of town, they set up us in a conference room to fill out the online application, which took an insane and inappropriate amount time. Not once were we able to meet with an actual person/​agent.
After spending an ungodly amount of time on the application, we explained to the front desk person that we were hoping to move forward quickly. That is when they told us that it can take up to 5 days for an approval… not only that, but the agent working on that property would be out of town/​unavailable for over a week and since it was her property, no one else could help us. If we would have had this information in the beginning, we would have never wasted our time and money. I was told that I could contact the agent personally, to see about moving forward. I called AND emailed the agent, Ashley. As of today (weeks later) I have not heard a peep of a response.
That’s not all, the WORST part of it all, is the following morning we realized we needed to add information to our application and when we went to adjust it, it was no longer available. I called to find out that it had been rented. IF the agent was out of the office and not available to talk or respond to us, how on earth was the property miraculously rented? Also, why weren’t we valued enough to continue a dialogue with about the other available unit? Felt like a scam.
Absolutely terrible customer service, and that is an understatement because we were really provided with ZERO customer service. Disappointing waste of time and money. That’s $ 40 we could have put to an actual responsive and respectful property management firm.
Oh one more thing, when a potential client has to be escorted to and waited for outside of your bathroom like a common criminal, it doesn’t really paint a pleasant and inviting experience for your guest.

I’m satisfied with my service here. Once you get to talk to Susan or another realtor then the ball starts rolling. Start with your application, once your approved the tie you with a property. Unfortunately we were 4^th to a property and didn’t get it, but once we went to the office, Susan came out explained that since we are approved we can try to find another property in our budget. Now we are listed to a different better one and we are good, hopefully we get this one. The front office staff needs to be a little more focused when I say I want to speak to Susan, we are approved, rather than make me apply again lol

Avoid this company and these people at all costs. I have never been so poorly treated by a service provider — ever. At the end of the day there is simply no pride in the product. No matter what happens in your rental relationship, Premier Properties will find a way to excuse themselves from any responsibility. From renting pest infested, unclean apartments, to not providing keys to secure spaces you pay for, to improperly assigning parking spaces that lead to conflicts between tenants, to double charging for rent because they don’t have a handle on their accounting, to conveniently forgetting maintenance requests — I have it all documented. Kevin Slattery wants you to believe Unilocal is treating him unfairly when in actuality the reviews are absolutely accurate. Any positive reviews (are their any?) are most likely planted. The truth is he runs a sloppy outfit that doesn’t communicate or manage details well and when the results from such poor professionalism hits the proverbial fan, he simply cannot embrace any accountability on his or his staffs behalf. As a veteran of two armed services, and an independent contractor, I don’t have a lot of tolerance for folks who are in over their heads and can’t deliver quality. This group fails epically and its a direct result of leadership. Unilocal,you need a negative star rating — make sure it goes to negative five too.

Would be renters and landlords beware!
I rented a home in Reno of which Premier Properties had been contracted by the owner to be the Property Manager.
Problems began early when, a few weeks after the lease had been signed, they come back and tell me that I am responsible for paying the water and sewer. This was never part of the advertised deal but I believe it was not crooked as much as mismanagement. I did not sign a revised lease but paid for the water/​sewer bill. The water/​sewer transition was completely mismanaged by Premier Properties. They claimed I owed water and sewer charges but could not provide any documentation as to how they were coming up with the charges, so I refused to pay for the opening, undocumented, not in the agreement charges of around $ 300. During this entire process the attitude of the Premier Properties personnel is that they are completely righteous and I am a scamming criminal. Not good.
I rented for 1 year and had a 100% perfect record of on-​time payments. I move out with house impeccable clean and maintained. I get a notice in the mail saying I still owe them the $ 300 plus interest. I send an email asking for the detailed explanation. No response. A few weeks later a notice from a collection agency rolls in from Premier Properties for the amount and now all the «processing fees».
In my opinion this organization is mismanaged, inept, and unprofessional. I would not recommend renting from these people unless you truly have no other choices. I guarantee you will not like the experience.
If you are a property owner seeking a professional management company I would suggest these are not your people.

I have been a tenant with RE/​MAX Premier Properties for about 3 years now and I’ve had nothing short of a perfect relationship with them. My unit is managed by Susan Palmer and she is a pleasure to work with. Many of the other reviews on here are blasting her, I’ve never had any kind of the service that you all are describing. Any time I email or call PP or Susan I receive a call back quickly. I always receive my walk through letters in a timely manner because I actually check my mail, so I have plenty of time to reschedule if I need to. I have dealt with other employees at RE/​MAX and they were very easy to work with and worked with me: Kim Bolin and Kaylynn Palmer. I highly recommend all three of these property managers they are professional and work hard to keep a tenant happy!

I am going to find out WHO exactly owns this company and send them the email my daughter received. I REFUSE to believe ANY business owner would allow this email to go out! Horrible AND rude, NASTY! Please remember you ARE in the CUSTOMER SERVICE profession! All your good reviews were written on the same day! LOLOL nice try but NO cigar!

Horrible service, never responded to my needs. I had to beg them to send out a repair person. Took me a year to get my deposit back. Very poor and unprofessional staff (Cy Wagner)

Yep… just like everyone says… total tools. Rude, poor customer service, bad at putting rental agreements together, and all in all the staff sucks. Susan Palmer is awful, and out of the lot, hate to say that your not going to get much better than her… would rather rent from ANYONE then these rude unprofessional people.

Susan Palmer seems very nice until you ask her to have something fix like a hole in the wall or a broken window. They never give your deposit back and they take longer then the law permits for that… Shame on Premier Properties.

The service I got here was sub par. The people were less than enthusiastic to help when I needed their assistance. Eventually I had to do the work myself.
I wouldn’t go back nor would I recommend them to others.

PP deserves zero stars. And dear old Susan Palmer, what a snake she is.
PP raised the rent on my aging, run-​down property last year by $ 100 a month. This was in March 2008, right before the real estate market really took a dive. I tried to negotiate a more reasonable price, or at least some improvements, but no dice. Prior to the rent increase, in February, Susan shows up at my door unannounced, for a property inspection. I accomodated her, but I had the flu and the house was in a complete state of disarray. The notice for this visit arrived in the mail that afternoon. It was mailed only two days prior to the inspection date. Everyone knows, or should know that mail within Reno rarely gets delivered in one day!
Anyway, we moved out, to a cheaper place. The PP place stood empty for 3 – 4 months. Then they got a renter who only lasted 2 months. The place stood empty again for over 6 months. PP actually had to reduce the rent to the amount I paid when I first moved in, in 2002. Idiots.
We were good renters, were only late once with the rent in 6 years, and that was due to a bounced payroll check.
They also refused to refund our deposit, even though we left the place spotless. I can’t go into further details because I plan to sue, but just haven’t had the means for that in this economy. Money has been very tight. We really didn’t have the money to move, but we couldn’t afford to stay.
P.S I find it fascinating that all these property owners are happy with PP and Susan Palmer. OF COURSE THEY ARE! They never have to return a security deposit !!!

If I could give them less than one star I would. Very frustrating experience with this company. They act like they do not care if a property is leased or not and have never once returned any of my inquiries regarding their rentals. I feel sorry for owners who hire them to manage their properties as they sit on the market empty when qualified and interested parties get ignored.
To be fair my experience is limited to one agent, Susan. Their front desk staff are friendly and helpful.
