I love this dentist! I just moved to Reno a month ago and at the recommendation of a friend went to see Dr. Shawa. Got me in the same day, the office staff is very friendly and efficient, and Dr. Shawa is awesome, he gave me a shot (virtually painless), fixed my problem, gave me a referral to a periodontist, personally placed a call to the periodontist to see if He could get me in on the same day. Wow just wow.

Dr. Shawa has been my dentist for the past 4 – 5 years and he’s always been awesome. Him and his staff always put me at ease and it’s honestly a pleasure walking in there. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a great dentist in the Reno area.

Fralick and Shawa used to be partners. Fralick was my dentist, but he got another job. I was going to find another dentist with nitrous oxide in their office, but I decided to go to Shawa because my husband went, and he really liked the service.
Well, I gotta say I loved that visit! I’ve never had my teeth cleaned that well EVER and I’m 56 years old. Doc was way cool and his staff, Terry, Brenna, and Theo were great. They had a cancellation so they did all my work and I’m done for 6 months!
I’m really glad I didn’t change offices.

I hate the dentist… well, I should say I hated the dentist. I was nervous and anxious about going in to get a tooth fixed that had broke. I seriously waited until the last possible moment to go in and boy I’m glad I went here! Dr. Shawa is amazing, he was patient, kind and compassionate. I’ve never met a dentist that was so awesome. He helped me understand what to do differently to prevent cavities. He not only told me he showed me. He didn’t harp on things I did wrong but things I can do in the future. The entire experience was exceptionally pleasant and his staff was great!
Not only am I not scared to go back, I can’t wait to go back and fix the rest of my cavities once and for all!

My experience with Dr. Joseph Shawa DMD…
I’ve now been to both offices (Caughlin and McCabe location, south Reno) for my son, daughter and myself. Just left my daughters visit for a root canal and saved $ 400 by one dentist and $ 1,100 by another. NO unnecessary work!!! Honesty is hard to come by with dentistry, always something more… But this time after 2 other quotes for work done on my daughters root canal, what a difference! Dr. Shawa is friendly, gentile and very pleasant. Why didn’t I just go to him in the first place after seeing him twice before? I’m brain dead? His staff in both offices are always nice and friendly also. Nice offices, cool personal art and the lighting is comforting. I strongly recommend him! The dentist I started with years ago when kids were small has retired, that’s how we came across Shawa in the first place. I strongly recommend!!! You will be happy.
