Spa Nails

Got a deluxe pedicure and gel manicure this morning. Absolute heaven. Massaging chair works out all the knots while you get a mint cooling gel smoothed on your legs, then your’re legs get wrapped in hot towels, followed by a hot stone massage on legs/​feet. They don’t expect you to chat the whole time, so you can relax and unwind. I got «Frozen» color glitter gel Polish on my fingernails and toenails and they look fabulous! Made an appointment for 2 weeks from today.

So I don’t normally get my nails done, but one of my coworkers told me she goes here regularly and that it was great, so I decided to give it a try. They did a great job with my nail request and I have been going here ever since (when I have the money to splurge of course)! They have resonable prices and offer a drink while you are there. They do get kind of busy when I go around 5pm, but they are very apologetic about the wait when there is one. They are very friendly and make sure they are correct in your color choices. I would definitely recommend coming here to get some simple styles done!

As of now I can only give 1 star :(I called in advanced and they told me to come in at 5:30pm. It’s 6:30pm and we’re still waiting.
Update: so after waiting they got all 3 of us in. I enjoyed my experience, however the salon is a little dirty. Old nail clippings in what is supposed to be a sterile/​clean nail trimming set is pretty gross. It looks like they reuse a lot of their supplies without cleaning them. Considering all the superbugs and MRSA that people have I probably won’t be coming back. We were satisfied with our nails and the ladies were pleasant, just wish it was a little cleaner.

In the San Fernando Valley (LA) a mani/​pedi together will cost you $ 25 — that includes spa pedi. But here, $ 28 gets your JUST the pedi… and I’m SUPER OK with that.
I’ve been getting my nails done for over a decade now and I’ve never had someone take their time and really do an amazing job, like they do here.
My technician was Erin and she did a wonderful job. We talked and laughed together the entire time and she was still on top of her game! I recommend her, ladies.
Free drink when you get seated (including mimosas, yay!) and I went with hot green tea — yum!
Overall, great place. Clean! Professional! Sweet!

I will definitely be coming back here. I walked in & got a technician right away, no waiting. I had a pedicure & was surprised when she used this amazing orange smelling scrub all over my legs before a nice, long, lotion massage. Very relaxing. Comfy spa chairs. Nice, friendly nail technicians.

My appointment was at 10, but I got started about 15 minutes beforehand. This was great for me, since I hate making an appointment and not being able to start at that time.

Staff is extremely nice– very rare for nail salons. The woman that did my pedicure was amazing. The pedicure was also nice. Wasn’t rushed.
Place is clean! No nail shavings on the floor, no garbage, it was all very kept.
I decided to get a solid color with no design since it was my first time here. Tia did such a good job! Very friendly, good conversationalist, and did not rush.
This is my new nail place when I’m in Reno. I would highly recommend.

I love this place so much. It’s super close to the UNR campus and the workers are always nice and ask if you want something to drink. All the people who work there are funny, engaging and I feel like I’ve known them forever even though we’ve just met. I always ask for Tammy! She’s super quick and a very sweet lady.
This is always my first choice when getting a mani-​pedi.

Great service! My daughter and I came in last minute for a full set and they took us right away. They were welcoming and had great customer service. Clean location, gentle, and they took there time doing our nails. Price was reasonable.

Really don’t know what the «licensed» person who reviewed and said this place was clean was thinking. Maybe once upon a time they were.
I am almost positive they don’t even wash the pedicure basins after each use, where industry requirement is supposed to be a double wash at minimum. Yes they have the «shower cap» thing, but there is still an opening for the jet attachment, which isn’t sanitized either fyi.
I saw a manicure station put the pink pencil box of nail tools on the sink, and a couple minutes later, a pedicure station came and grabbed it. There was no washing, or even rinsing… just one person to the next… these are metal tools they should be in solution or in the auto clave. Othertimes, like with me unfortunately, my lady pulled the box from the cabinet next to the chair… which means it was probably just thrown in from the last person… trying not to think about that too much.
The grater and purple scrubber is washed with a brush from blue (probably windex judging from the rest of this place) for 3 second each and then thrown under the sink in a big tub.
This place maybe «cheap» and accept «walk-​ins», and I was desperate for oneand the place I wanted was full. They accept walk-​ins, but that leaves people waiting until someone can get to them. The girls are often working on 1 – 2 people at a time instead of just devoting their attention to one person AND properly cleaning/​sanitizing these tools. PS: I was the first chair from the sink, so I had a good view of what was being washed and not.
I will not come back here again, I will stick to a place like Soak, where they use the bowls with rocks, instead of the chairs where the jets can’t be properly sanitized. The tools like the scrubber, is disposable and given to the person too.
So far I don’t have an ingrown toenail (from angled corners), or infection/​fungal thing anywhere, but I would be cautious if you come here. I don’t believe these places are actually held to randomized health inspections like food places, though they absolutely should be considering there can be exposure to blood.
See, can’t think about the possibilities of what could go wrong here… ugh.
EDITED based on the comments from the owner, that’s great the bowls are actually washed and/​or protected… but I know that the tools were not disinfected/​sterilized at all, and saw one lady put the pink box on the left hand side of the sink after using it at the manicure station and another lady come and grab it for a pedicure while it just sat there. That is the worst offense in my opinion because those will generally have the most likelihood to come in contact with blood.
Also, I’m more confident the bowls are washed at a place where they just use a bowl, because of the environment of the salon, the fact we, as customers, are given the purple scrubbers, so you can tell cleanliness is a priority.
There was also no comment about the graters or purple scrubbers. 2 seconds with blue disinfectant aka barbicide does not satisfy me. I know in the hospital gloves AND time are needed to disinfect with hardcore cleaners. And looking at the website, it says a minimum of 10 minutes is needed.
I’m glad it was ‘cleaner’ than I thought, I tipped well and in cash (was $ 28, left $ 35), but I will not be back, they have plenty of people who love it, I’m just not one of them. I know what I observed, I paid attention because I was concerned about it. The lady who did mine was nice yes, but that doesn’t make up for the lax in cleanliness protocol because you were overbooked/​busy.

Polka dot Pastel Nails!!! Festive for Easter! They turned out great, and I LOVE them!!! No matter what I bring to Tammy, she always does a great job!!!

I for one am very particular about my customer service when it comes to going to nail salons but this place is amazing. My mom and I came in looking for a little activity to do to celebrate her birthday and I can say this was perfect. As soon as we enter they were all nice and seated us immediately. Then we were offered Mimosa’s, water, and an array of soft drinks which were complementary. They had many colorful and beautiful selections to choose from as far as design and shape and nail color go. Although I do have sensitive nails and it did hurt a little bit when I came to filing, overall I had a very enjoyable experience at the salon. And my nails turned out beautiful, even, and not too thick. The shape was perfect and the color is beautiful. I would definitely come back. ⁹⁄₁₀!

Had a great experience at spa nails everyone was so kind. They get you in and out fast which I LOVE! They pay attention to details which is very important to me. Another thing I liked was how they serve you a drink of your choice. I would definitely be back again.

I went to Spa Nails this previous Sunday to treat myself on my day off and get my week started on a good note. I usually go across town to a different nail salon but tagged along with my friend since this place is her usual. She always speaks highly about it so I thought I would give it a shot.
I wish the experience was a little bit better. Right from the get go it was very rushed and it seemed like I didn’t even have enough time to pick the color I wanted. My manicurist moved very fast (which was fine) but the massage lasted maybe 7 seconds on each hand. That was super disappointing cause half the time I get my nails done just for that at least one to two minutes of massage bliss. I also wanted a pedicure but they took other clients and didn’t ask or see if I needed anything else after my manicure. I would have gone elsewhere but I really needed a pedicure so asked if anyone was available. I did get sat into a chair right away and got them done but she did seem flustered that I also needed a pedicure after my manicure. That massage also lasted about 7 seconds on each foot.
My nails did come out very pretty and I got the exact manicure and pedicure I wanted. They also offer you a beverage right when you sit which is a great touch. I do think this place is usually an awesome nail salon but I caught them on an off day. I’d be willing to go again one day, but that would only be if my regular nail salon is booked for the day.

Wow! Treated my wife and kids so great! My daughter thinks she’s a princess now! Thanks for all the attention you have given them! Where professionals become your friends.

I am beyond thrilled to have chosen Spa Nails in NW Reno this afternoon.
I’m in town and wanted great nails. I think we’ve all been on this boat before where we impulsively decide to have pretty nails in the middle of a trip and just find ourselves laughed at and turned away at the door. Well not at Spa Nails!
My sister in law and I walk in and were instantly greeted with smiling faces. The front desk asked which services we wanted and were seated right Away. I expected loud chatter and that was not the case at all. Tammy sat me down asked me which beverage I’d like to have and she got started. In a blink of an eye she consulted me on every move and gave me polished, beautiful nails! Her service was friendly and super fast! My nails were thin and has a perfect shape! Thank you Tammy!

Located in the Keystone Shopping center behind the Burger King is were you’ll find Spa Nails.
I was in a bind because my usual mani-​pedi spots were closed. I arrived a few minutes before they opened and I got in right away.
What I loved?
–Free drinks — coffee. Tea, mimosa, soda
–Spa Pedi — They line the foot jacuzzis with what looks like a large shower cap — great my tootsie aren’t floating in the disinfectant they clean the jacuzzis with or even worse someone else’s foot funk. The scrubs and wraps were enjoyable. But the best part was the hot stone leg massage… very relaxing almost zen!
–Mani & Deluxe Pedi for around $ 50
What I didn’t love?
– The towels were well used to the point of being a frayed.
– When doing my mani, my nail was cut to the quick. Ok it happens but they didn’t have alcohol to flush it out.
Sure I’d go back. A great place for a quick mani-​pedi. I would do the deluxe pedi again. I might try the mani again without use of the nail clipper.

I’m honestly pretty bummed about this place. I came in this morning after reading the great reviews. The guy I had was kind of rude and distracted by the football game on the TV. He didn’t take his time and he was pretty sloppy with his work. My acrylics are uneven and one of them has already kind of chipped. I didn’t get a massage and seemed to be rushed out the door.
The other women working there seemed very friendly and seemed to make their clients happy. I’m sure this place is great, I just felt rushed and was not exactly thrilled with the service I received.

As far as your neighborhood strip mall nail salons go, this one is probably one of the cleanest I have been to.
We were greeted when we arrived with big smiles and a big hello. I’d called earlier in the day to schedule 4 pedicure chairs for my mom, 2 daughters and me, we arrived about 10 minutes early and was asked to pick out colors.
They prepared 4 side by side pedicure chairs and put a plastic pedi bag inside the actual pedicure bath which I liked as it shows they are conscientious about infections or cross contamination from doing pedicures.
We all sat down, they offered to put on the massage chairs and then presented a free drink menu of sodas, bottled waters or mimosas, very nice touch!
My daughters and I were attended to pretty quickly, but my poor mom say unattended for 15 – 20 minutes before a fourth attendant came over to my mom. That was annoying to me as I’d made an appointment for us hours before, 4 pedicures should have been given at the same time. My daughters and I were pretty much finished before my mom was started. My daughters and I sat waiting for my mom to be finished.
That said, my mom and oldest daughter absolutely loved their pedicures and said their technicians were meticulous and did a great job. My younger daughter said hers was okay, her toes were smudged on one foot before she got out of the chair and she hadn’t moved. Mine was very good, my technician was very nice.
Total for 4 pedicures was $ 104, minus tip.
While visiting Reno again I would go to Spa Nails again.

I wrote a review on this place a few weeks ago and it somehow mysteriously disappeared. So here I go again…
I have been here three times in the past couple of months. May is fantastic. She is very sweet and she is really good at what she does. I am able to go almost three weeks in between fills because they stay on really well. The place is clean and it is right off the freeway so it is in a convenient spot for me coming from Sparks.
I had a pedicure last weekend and the chairs are heavenly. The services also come with complimentary drinks (including mimosas yay!) so that is a nice touch and is awesome with their low prices. In this instance you definitely get a lot more than what you pay for here. This place is great.
