History
Established in 2003.
For the first 11 years of my career I worked as a staff photojournalist at newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times, Napa Valley Register and Reno Gazette-Journal. When my wife and I had our first baby in 2003, I started shooting weddings on the weekends for extra money while living in the Napa Valley and working as the director of photography for the local daily newspaper. Eventually, my wedding photography became so popular that I had to choose between the two, and so I chose wedding photography so I could stay at home with my daughter Bridget during the week and shoot weddings on the weekends. I’ve been primarily shooting weddings since 2003, however I still do editorial work for Reuters on occasion. I have traveled as far away as Alaska and New York to shoot weddings, and there is no place I will not travel to.

Steve K.
Business Owner
* Graduated from San Jose State University in 1997 with a degree in photojournalism and a minor in military history.
* Did paid internships at daily newspapers all through college – including at the Tri-City Herald (Kennewick, WA), Kenai Peninsula Clarion (Kenai, AK) and Reno Gazette-Journal (Reno, NV).
* After leaving college I got my first full-time staff photographer position at the Los Angeles Times Ventura Edition.
* When the Ventura bureau of the Los Angeles Times folded, I got a job as a staff photographer at the Napa Valley Register and was promoted to director of photography of the newspaper within a year. It was then that I oversaw the newspaper’s transition from analog film into the digital photography era.
* In 2003, I left newspapers to embrace a flourishing wedding photography business I had started full-time. I chose to leave newspapers primarily so I could stay at home with my daughter during the week and shoot weddings on the weekends.
